  • Education on type 2 diabetes mellitus and its prevention in adolescents

      Abstract: The prevalence of Diabetes Mellitus based on a Doctor's Diagnosis in Population Age ≥ 15 Years according to the 2018 Riskesdas, in the province of South Kalimantan itself is 1.8%. Thus, education regarding risk factors for diabetes mellitus is needed. The purpose of this community service is to provide education to adolescents so that they are able to handle or prevent the occurrence of diabetes mellitus in themselves or their families and are able to utilize health services optimally. The activity is carried out in the form of online counseling. The results of the activity showed an increase in adolescent knowledge regarding diabetes mellitus, its prevention, and herbal ingredients that can be used as medicine.

  • Management of emotional intelligence and administration of
           non-communicable disease screening for posyandu cadres

      Abstract: Gamping Kidul Hamlet is growing fast and is an education center area. This condition brings social, economic and unhealthy lifestyle changes so that there is concern that there will be an increase in non-communicable diseases (NCDs). This community service is a continuation of the previous program which has formed groups concerned with healthy lifestyles and training in screening and prevention of NCDs. The training aims to enable health cadres to be able to understand and apply management of emotional intelligence for themselves and others as well as be able to apply the administration of NCDs screening in their respective posyandu. The training was attended by 14 participants. The activity was carried out using the discussion method for emotional intelligence management and practice for screening administrative management. At the end of the training, an assessment of the level of emotional intelligence was carried out and the provision of equipment grants for program implementation. The results of the assessment showed that 57% of cadres had high emotional intelligence, 29% are moderate and 14% are low. Emotional intelligence of non-cadres is 84.62% high and 7.69% moderate and low, respectively. The Mann Whitney test proves that the emotional intelligence of cadres is lower than that of non-cadres.

  • Leasing evaluation training as an alternative financing for MSME Seruni

      Abstract: Seruni is a business group formed since the Covid-19 Pandemic. The main problem of these MSMEs is the lack of capital they have so they have not been able to meet market demand. This training activity is a form of community service that aims to improve the financial literacy, especially regarding lease financing. The target of this program is to improve the skills of participants in making effective financial decisions so that this business will be able to develop and be sustainable in the future. The program began with conducting a pre-test, continued with the delivery of material and discussion, and closed with a post-test to find out the effectiveness of the program. Based on post-test result, it can be concluded that the understanding of the participants has increased after participating in this program.

  • Improving knowledge of dental and oral health at the Posyandu for Toddler,
           Brajan

      Abstract: As many as 54% of children aged 5-9 years have cavities, damaged or diseased teeth. But only 14.6% of these children received treatment from dental medical personnel. This shows that public awareness of dental and oral health is low. The purpose of this activity is to increase dental and oral health knowledge to prevent an increase in the number of dental and oral problems in Indonesia. The method used in this community service is counseling and health checks at the Brajan Toddler Posyandu, Taman Tirto, Bantul. A total of 21 mothers underwent a general health examination and 15 of them agreed to have a dental examination. The examination results showed that the majority of participants had stage 1 hypertension and the DMF-T results were in the moderate category based on the WHO assessment. The results of counseling activities showed an increase in awareness regarding general health knowledge, dental and oral health after counseling by 22.62%.

  • Jelly candy 'Nachberry' sensory test as an innovative snack to improve
           nutritional status in children

      Abstract: Stunting is caused by a lack of important nutrients that occur early in life. Consumption of nutritious food is one of the efforts to improve the nutritional status of stunted children. One of the sources of nutritious food that is widely grown in Indonesia is spinach and strawberries which are rich in micronutrients such as iron, protein, calcium, beta-carotene, vitamins A, vitamin C, calcium, and phosphorus. These food ingredients can be processed into jelly candy snacks that are delicious and liked by children. The PKM team created a new food innovation in the form of a jelly candy called NACHBERRY "Spinach & Strawberry" which has a high nutritional content that has gone through a sensory test involving 20 panelists. Sensory test results of jelly candy made from spinach have a better score than jelly candy made from strawberry.

  • Digital marketing assistance for MSMEs products in Kutai Kartanegara

      Abstract: The community service program aims to provide an understanding of current technological developments, especially marketing digitalization. Training and mentoring were attended by MSME actors in the Loa Kulu District area. The program carried out are: 1) providing information related to digital marketing; 2) socialization of the establishment of MSME clinics; 3) training and assistance in using websites and social media; and 4) product shooting techniques. The results of the program show that MSME actors already have knowledge about the use of technology for marketing their products. Especially with the facilitation from the local government, the role of MSMEs in supporting regional economic growth is expected to be well realized.

      Abstract: The level of financial literacy in Indonesia is still low (<50%). Financial literacy is closely related to financial planning. Financial planning is not only for those who have financial difficulties, but also for those who have excess finances so that they can be planned optimally. The purpose of this community service is to increase literacy and understanding of family financial planning, so that the community, especially PKK women in Gedongboyo Untung Village can manage their family finances well. The implementation method applied is socialization and financial literacy education counseling regarding family financial planning as well as training in making doormats from used cloth. The result of this program is an increase in literacy understanding of family financial planning and its practice. In addition, it also improves the skills of participants in utilizing used cloth in the form of goods that can be used and have sale value.

      Abstract: Recent decade, the podcast has become one of the new media platforms that have become a trend in society. Podcasts are becoming increasingly popular, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. At a time when people are forced to social distancing, some people want to build their creativity easily and cheaply, and efficiently on various podcast platforms. Podcasts are mostly only known among urban communities, while among fostered children such as those in orphanages, they are so common and unknown. This community service aims to introduce podcasts through training for orphanage. The results obtained by fostered students at the Media Kasih Islamic Foundation Orphanage are so enthusiastic in learning about podcasts and making podcasts for their respective activities that they build their creativity.

  • Improving lecturers' competence in writing nationally accredited
           scientific papers

      Abstract: Lecturers are required to produce scientific papers for improving their careers. However, there are many lecturers who do not understand how to write scientific papers and to publish it. This community service aims to improve the competence of lecturers in writing scientific papers so that they can make good scientific papers and can publish it. The program is carried out in two stages: 1) preparation stage, and 2) implementation through training on writing scientific paper. The results showed that the participants were able to understand 1) the basics of scientific writing, 2) the parts of scientific articles, 3) the scientific publication policies, 4) the criteria and requirements for publishing scientific papers in accredited journals, 5) the paraphrase techniques, 6) the citation using Mendeley, and 7) the technique of compiling according to the standard template of accredited journals.

  • Religious literacy: Training on the women corpse management in Salam
           Village, Gebang District

      Abstract: The law on the management of corpses is fardhu kifayah (collective obligation). However, the problem is that many people do not have the courage to do so, due to a lack of religious knowledge regarding burial of corpses, as well as fear of the corpse itself. The purpose of this community service is to provide knowledge and understanding of the simulation of handling women's corpse. This training was given twice, namely for PKK women and for members of Fatayat and Muslimat NU as pioneers of religious activities in Salam Village, Gebang District. The implementation method in this activity is Community-Based Participatory which is carried out collaboratively. The training materials provided include procedures for dealing with people in death throes,  procedures for dealing with people who have recently died, procedures for washing the corpse, and ending with purification, procedures for shrouding the corpse, and the last reading the intentions and procedures for praying for a woman's corpse. From the results of the evaluation, the participants showed a positive response and were very enthusiastic about gaining new literacy knowledge about managing women's corpse according to Islamic law. As for the results of the feedback, a social team for the management of women's corpse will be formed in each RT.

  • Early detection and health education of hypertension in adolescents

      Abstract: Hypertension is a dangerous disease as a risk factor for cardiovascular disease which is the main cause of death. Generally, hypertension occurs in adults or the elderly, but it can also occur in adolescents. Adolescents who experience hypertension have a higher risk of developing coronary heart disease or kidney failure as adults. The purpose of community service is to carry out early detection of hypertension in adolescents and increase youth knowledge about hypertension as a primary prevention effort. The method used is health checks and health education. Activities carried out by checking blood pressure, filling out questionnaires and conducting health education about hypertension. The results of blood pressure checks showed that 225 adolescents (98.68%) were in normal condition and 3 adolescents (1.32%) had mild hypertension. While the results of the questionnaire on adolescent knowledge of hypertension found that 198 adolescents (86.84%) had good knowledge and 30 adolescents (13.16%) had sufficient knowledge.

  • Safety riding training for youth oil palm transporter in Persiapan Ranah
           Melintang village, West Pasaman district

      Abstract: Of 120 work accidents and work-related body injury reports, 75% occurred in young transporters. These are caused by young oil palm transporters' lack of understanding and ability to drive safely, especially in oil palm plantation sites with uneven road characteristics, and the vehicle specifications need to be safer to drive. This community service aims to provide knowledge and skills to the people of Persipan Ranah Melintang village, especially young oil palm transporters, regarding driving safety so that it can reduce the number of accidents in this area. The method used in the safety riding training activities uses the lecture method, question and answer, discussion, video demonstrations, and sound and proper practice of riding a motorbike following safety riding rules. The results of this activity showed the participants' enthusiasm for participating in the training, especially when practicing riding motorbikes. In addition, there was an increase in participants' awareness and understanding of the importance of safety riding when driving.

  • Empowerment of social forestry business group in improving village welfare
           in South Lampung

      Abstract: The social forestry program is one of the government's instruments that aims to improve the welfare of communities around forest areas without destroying forests. In order to improve the welfare of the people living around the forest area, it is necessary to develop a social forestry business through the Kelompok Usaha Perhutanan Sosial (KUPS) which is determined by the Head of the Forest Management Unit (KPH). One of the villages with a social forestry program is Way Kalam Village, Penengahan District, South Lampung Regency, where 90% of the community depends on plantations and agriculture around the forest area and consists of 6 KUPS based on the commodities produced. The method used is awareness, knowledge, understanding, utilization, and use of skills. The activity results from the empowerment have not impacted material welfare due to several obstacles including the capital, marketing, and institutional issues that are more dominant. However, the existence of empowerment has an impact on immaterial welfare where people can participate and have great opportunities so they can develop their potential and their business.

If not handled properly, this condition can trigger food shortages due to disturbances to economic stability. Therefore, implementing urban farming is one of the solutions to prevent this problem. This program was carried out in Kalinegoro Village RW III with the PKK team and housing residents. During the program, partners and residents were very enthusiastic in realizing urban farming in the environment, which was proven by the formation of a park that implements urban farming. At the end of this program, it is hoped that urban farming can be a solution to prevent the problem of food shortages during the Covid-19 pandemic.

      Abstract: The development of the learning cycle box media is a dissemination of science and technology for the Wiropati hamlet community who are experiencing problems in the learning process at home due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Learning cycle box media development activities are made to increase the attractiveness of school-age children to return to learning. This activity is in the form of mentoring learning cycle box media for elementary age children in collaboration with Sahabat Rumah Baca. The method is carried out through production practices and mentoring in the application of the learning cycle box. The results achieved were an increase in the learning motivation of the school-age children, as evidenced by the enthusiasm of attendance during learning activities.

      Abstract: Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is health behavior that is carried out out of awareness so that individuals or family members can help themselves and can play an active role in health activities in the community. According to Islam, health is defined as a good condition for all members of the body and afiat is defined as the protection of Allah SWT for His servants. The low level of knowledge of the people of Medangan Hamlet, Tersan Gede Village, regarding indicators of Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS) can raise the risk of disease spread and morbidity. The purpose of this community service is to implement the PHBS movement in a health and Islamic perspective. The methods in this program are community development, educative, and participatory. The results of this program indicate an increase in knowledge, changes in lifestyle behavior to become healthier as evidenced by the community's habit of washing their hands properly, getting used to not defecating in any place and sorting waste.

  • Islamic parenting education in the success of the 'Aisyiyah of love
           children movement

      Abstract: Special attention to children as individuals who are still in their developmental age is certainly no less important, because childhood is a process towards maturity. Use of gadgets that are not ideal for more than 2 hours per day can result in attention deficit disorder in children which causes anxiety, anger, and so on. If left untreated, it can have an impact on the child's psychology and disrupt the child's development. One of Aisyiyah's roles as a women's organization was declaring the 'Aisyiyah of love children movement. The purpose of this program is to improve the quality of children with Islamic parenting educational activities. The method used is counseling and outreach. The result is an increase in understanding from teachers in the good category from 67% to 93%, and parents' understanding in the good category from 71% to 96%. After this program, it is hoped that health monitoring can be carried out on an ongoing basis, one of which is screening for growth and development of toddlers.

      Abstract: Organic waste is an inseparable part of daily activities in the kitchen. So that the people of RT 34 Bengkuring have the desire to learn and produce kitchen products that can be substituted for chemicals and are more economical. In addition, this activity can reduce the amount of waste disposed of at the Waste Disposal Site (TPS). This activity aims to increase public knowledge about waste management and skills in processing organic waste. The methods provided are in the form of training, mentoring and evaluation. After the training, the community can make their own waste processing products and can produce products for household needs and MSME products, such as compost, liquid organic fertilizer, and eco-enzyme.

      Abstract: Implementation of clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) is an effort to empower household members to understand, want, and be able to practice clean and healthy living behaviors in the community. The purpose of this community service is to increase public understanding of clean and healthy living behavior and improve public health standards. The participants of this activity is the residents of Ngaropoh Hamlet. The method used is the participatory rural appraisal (PRA) approach with socialization, education and training about PHBS, planting medicinal plants, the Covid-19 vaccine, and self-healing, and cadre assistance. The resulting impact is that people understand, aware, and implement clean and healthy behavior in their environment. In the future, it is hoped that the residents of Ngaropoh Hamlet will remain consistent in maintaining a clean and healthy lifestyle.
