  • Analysis of Mathematical Significance in Everyday Economics: Exploration
           of Relevant Data and Findings

    • Authors: Dayana Lizbeth González Holguín, Dayanna Nicole Iñamagua Dután, María José Orellana Rosado, Marcos Orellana Parra, Ana Hinojosa
      Pages: 1 - 21
Abstract: In everyday life, mathematics is omnipresent, even if it often goes unnoticed. Its value is especially noteworthy in the economic sphere, where it is vital to prosperity in a variety of fields. From basic monetary transactions to investment strategies, mathematics is essential for success. This relevance is evident in financial decision making, which impacts individuals and society. The study focused on how mathematics intertwines with everyday finance, highlighting its influence on economic choices. Using a quantitative approach and surveys of 63 university students, it was identified that a high percentage recognize the importance of mathematics in common financial situations. It is concluded that mathematics is crucial for interpreting data, advancing technology and scientific issues, and building solid foundations in economics. A mastery of these skills provides advantages in today's competitive and dynamic financial environment. In summary, mathematics is fundamental to economic decisions and plays an essential role in shaping a successful financial future.

  • Development of a specific software for the calculation of open channels
with uniform flow considering energy principles

    • Authors: Liliana Lizbeth López López, María Fernanda Pico Núñez, Bernarda Estefanía Abril Gavilanes
      Pages: 22 - 34
Abstract: The purpose of this research project is the codification of a specific software for the calculation of open channels of uniform flow considering the energy principles, which allows to obtain quickly and safely the normal and critical tie, geometric elements, flow rate, optimal hydraulic section of the sections proposed by Ven Te Chow, rectangular, trapezoidal, triangular, circular, parabolic, rectangular with rounded corners and triangular with rounded bottom, in addition to the geometric elements for any equation of the parabola, the hydraulic headroom and weirs. To verify the veracity of the developed program "SN CANALES v2.0", the results obtained were checked with the existing HCANALES software and manually; obtaining a margin of error of less than 1.5%, thus verifying that the values obtained by the software are reliable.

  • Crashworthiness analysis based on vehicle color and driver perception

    • Authors: Esteban Nicolás Pérez Chauca, Luis Armando Lema Vaca, Guillermo Gorky Reyes Campaña
      Pages: 35 - 47
Abstract: Road safety has been of increasing concern in recent years, and vehicle crashworthiness has been highlighted as a significant challenge. While known factors such as improper driving, road conditions and driving under the influence of substances have contributed to this problem, a new perspective has emerged regarding the color of cars and its impact on crash rates. Recent research has indicated that the color of a vehicle can play an important role in road safety. The colors red, silver, white and black have been identified as those that drivers perceive most clearly in different scenarios, such as time of day, distance and traffic location.

  • Analysis and Implementation of a Satellite Tracking System applied to pets
using free software with GPS and GSM technology

    • Authors: Anthony Morán Cabezas, Andrés De La Torre Macias, Jefferson Morán Cabeza, José Tubay Vergara
      Pages: 48 - 56
Abstract: The project aims to implement a satellite tracking system for pets, using GSM and GPS technology, free software and a VPS server. An analysis will be carried out to select the best GPS device. In addition, a mobile application will be developed that will allow users to see the geographic location of their pet and place virtual fences to prevent its loss. The application will also include additional options, such as the ability to configure the intensity of satellite tracking, call the device, and access a video tutorial and a menu of pet tips. The VPS server will host and route the satellite tracking software, and the mobile application will allow users to view their pet's location in real time and receive alerts if the pet leaves the geofence boundary. In summary, the project's main goal is to prevent pet loss and provide a useful tool to keep pets healthy and happy.

  • The occasional contracts of the LOSEP are a form of labor precariousness
           in the health sector

    • Authors: Franklin Roger Miranda Romero, Ana Cristina Pachano Zurita
      Pages: 57 - 71
Abstract: In public health, i.e., in hospitals or health centers, occasional contracts are usually issued for new personnel. However, this type of contracting violates several inherent principles of the workers, causing labor and family instability. This form of contracting does not strengthen the stability of the worker; on the contrary, it generates precariousness, since it does not provide the security and opportunities that those professionals with an appointment have. For this reason, the general objective of the following research is to analyze the figure of occasional contracting as a factor affecting job security in the public health sector. The study seeks to know the scope of the occasional contracts of the Organic Law of Public Service (LOSEP) as a form of labor precariousness which will form a kind of inequity and discrimination of professional staff working within this modality compared to the benefits that have the permanent appointment, which is achieved through a qualitative methodological approach with methods such as analytical-synthetic, historical-inductive and logical.
