Authors:Claudio Antonio Klaus Junior Pages: 1 - 6 Abstract: This article examines the innovative approaches and solutions implemented to improve access to justice in the northern regions of Brazil, focusing on two case studies: the administrative cooperation in the Belém do Solimões community and the Justiça Cidadã program in Roraima. Both initiatives address the challenges posed by geographical barriers, cultural diversity, and the need for interinstitutional cooperation. Through detailed analysis and field observations, the article highlights the critical role of partnerships, digital governance, and tailored solutions in ensuring equitable access to justice for vulnerable populations in remote areas. Authors:Geélison Ferreira da Silva, S. Pereira Mencato, Luiz Eduardo de Souza Pinto, Rafael Soares Duarte de Moura Pages: 7 - 14 Abstract: This article analyzes the association between internet access through digital social networks, such as Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp, and political attitudes identified by the literature as harmful to democracy. These attitudes include not perceiving democracy as the best form of government, dissatisfaction with democracy, distrust of institutions, and a greater perception of corrupt politicians. The hypothesis is tested that digital social networks favor political attitudes harmful to democracy and thus contribute to its recent crisis, using logistic regression from the Latin American Public Opinion Project database (LAPOP, 2018/2019). The results indicate that digital social networks do not directly compromise the preference for democracy. PubDate: 2024-06-26 DOI: 10.3968/13364 Issue No:Vol. 20, No. 3 (2024)

Authors:Uzair Ahmad, Muhammad Anas Pages: 31 - 39 Abstract: The study has been carried out to evaluate Shazaf Fatima Haider’s novel “How It Happened” in order to examine the impact of socially and culturally imposed gender norms on the lives of women in Pakistan, as well as the role of matriarchy in oppressing women. The research approach employed for this study is qualitative, involving the collection of pertinent information from academic journals, textbooks, and online resources. The gathered text has undergone meticulous examination using the approach of close textual analysis. In the pertinent chapters, the material has been gathered and organized into contrasted categories. The selected text has been analyzed using the sociological theory of Gender Socialization, which serves as the theoretical framework. The present study aims to enhance comprehension of how Pakistani authors see the overarching notion of gender roles in Pakistani culture. Society and culture exert significant influence on women’s lives through the imposition of socially and culturally established gender standards. The impact of gender stereotypes on women’s life varies and detrimentally affects their mental well-being. In addition, the matriarch (Dadi) in the given literature assumes the position of a patriarch and imposes socially and culturally defined gender norms on the women within a particular family setting. The study examines the strategies employed by the matriarchs to subdue other women. PubDate: 2024-06-26 DOI: 10.3968/13417 Issue No:Vol. 20, No. 3 (2024)
Authors:Yue LI, Weixiao WU, Jinlin WANG, Xinyu FU, Jian CHEN Pages: 40 - 46 Abstract: The current international situation is changing rapidly, and various variables are intertwined, so China has contributed to Chinese wisdom and demonstrated its role as a great power by taking pragmatic diplomatic actions to solve global problems. However, China's diplomacy still faces several challenges as it continues to move forward. And the implementation of diplomatic actions is constrained by the current difficulties in external communication. To break the current dilemma, it is crucial to identify the root causes of the existing challenges and propose solutions accordingly. Although the road ahead is full of unknowns and bumps, as long as the international understanding and interaction among countries are strengthened, a synergy in favor of global governance will be formed, which will bring a favorable environment and new opportunities for the world's development. Authors:Xiao LIU, Ailing LI, Xujun WANG Pages: 47 - 53 Abstract: Through the investigation of the operation mechanism and activities of Red Scarf College in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, it is found that the unique role of Red Scarf College in leading the thought of children is not enough. By means of questionnaire survey, interviews, field observation and other investigation and research methods, it is found that the main reasons for the insufficient guidance of ideological and political education for children in Red Scarf College are insufficient curriculum orientation, team stability, unclear public welfare boundary, and weak publicity strategy. To solve these problems, the following countermeasures can be adopted: to establish a top-down working mechanism by "Party team integration"; To build a series of enlightening courses of political thought with "expert gatekeeping"; To construct the internal and external integration of the disputing chapter system with "internal and external connection"; Broaden the practical education map of the Young pioneers by "co-construction + self-construction". Authors:Xuelei WANG Pages: 54 - 60 Abstract: In the Myriad case, the US Supreme Court considered the BRAC gene to be a “natural product”, thereby denying its patentability, but in reality, it did not resolve the debate over whether the gene was “discovered” or “invented.”. To avoid such unnecessary debates, the recognition of human gene patents should not blindly adhere to the traditional recognition model of patent objects. It should be examined from the perspective of the purpose of the patent system and balancing the interests of all parties, avoiding the excessive cutting of basic knowledge by immature knowledge, and reasonably limiting the scope of gene patent objects. Authors:Azeez Babatunde Adebakin Pages: 61 - 66 Abstract: This study identified instructional delivery methods and determined the problems associated with the delivery of entrepreneurship education in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), particularly in Osun State, Nigeria. The study adopted the quantitative research design using survey approach. The population for the study consisted 48 lecturers and 2,384 students across the three HEIs owned by Osun State government. The sample was made up of 361 purposively selected respondents based on the courses offered and taught. This comprised 333 students offering one or more entrepreneurship education courses and 28 lecturers teaching entrepreneurship education courses from three HEIs in Osun state. The Entrepreneurship Education Instructional Delivery Questionnaire (EEID-Q) was used to elicit information from entrepreneurship education lecturers and students. Data gathered were analyzed using percentages. The results showed lectures and seminars (75%) as well as technology-enhanced learning (50%) as the predominant methods for teaching entrepreneurship education. It also showed the problems associated with the delivery of entrepreneurship education in Osun State HEIs. These include poor implementation of entrepreneurship education policies 327(90.5%), inadequate funding 325(89.9%), poor orientation and sensitisation for students 322(89.1%), non-inclusion of entrepreneurship education at basic level of education 319(88.3%), as well as infrastructural deficiency 315(87.2%). Consequently, it was recommended that student-centered instructional methods should be employed by entrepreneurship education lecturers to ensure effective delivery of the course. Government should also increase budgetary allocation to her HEIs to be able to establish and adequately equip entrepreneurial development centers for practical work and provide adequate training/instructional materials for the course, giving its relevance to graduate self-employment in this era of rising youth unemployment.
