  • Covid-1999 reflections on world agricultural commodity prices and their
impact on food prices with path analysis model

    • Authors: Bilal Najah Al-jobir; Sara Qassem Ajil
Abstract: The world has faced major challenges over the corona epidemic, and the effects of the pandemic have been reversed on all economic sectors, not only the agricultural sector but also the most vulnerable sectors. The pandemic and its accompanying health measures have disrupted agricultural production by stalling access to fertilizers and pesticides in a timely manner, as well as the transfer of agricultural products to consumption sites, The pandemic also led to higher prices for production components, especially imported ones, such as seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, which led to higher prices for agricultural commodities and food prices in general. The aim of this study was to study the impact on the price fluctuations of agricultural goods and their impact on higher food prices. These effects are among the basic reasons why researchers study and reflect these fluctuations.

  • Oil Shocks and Their Effects on The Effectiveness of Monetary Policy In
Targeting Inflation Rates in Algeria During the Period (2000-2019)- An
           Econometrics Study-

    • Authors: Djelit Taher; Makhlouf Azeddine
Abstract: This study aims to evaluate the impact of oil shocks on the effectiveness of monetary policy in targeting inflation rates in Algeria, and for this purpose, an econometric model was constructed for the period 2000-2019 and based on three variables of the oil price as an indicator of oil shocks, of the money supply and of the inflation rate as an indicator of monetary policy. The standard study showed that the great importance of the relative effect on the inflation rate is due to the oil price variable, the slope of the oil price reaching (-0.85%), while the slope of the money supply did not exceed (0.062%). The occurrence of the inflation rate responds to a greater extent to variations in the price of oil, whether short or long term, and this limits the effectiveness of monetary policy to target the inflation rate in Algeria.

  • A study of factors influencing the technical efficiency of cereal farms in
Algeria: A case study of the Municipalities of Saida Province

    • Authors: Zineb Hamdene; Azzeddine Nezai, Noureddine Abdellah
Abstract: Cereals are the major food for the population and an important strategic crop, and the main pillar of food security in Algeria. Province Saida is considered a pioneer in the production of cereals, but its efficiency remains below what is required. This study measured the effect of the explanatory factors represented by climatic factors, the amount of financing, and the provision of rural housing on the technical inefficiency of wheat production for the municipalities of Saida Province using the method of stochastic frontier analysis during the period 2015/2020. The results of the study showed that the evaluation of the frontier production function according to the method Maximum Likelihood was according to the random model, and that the elasticity of each of the cultivated land, irrigated land, fertilized land, and mechanization reached (0.62, 0.28, 0.98, 0.5), respectively. The results also showed that technical inefficiency affected the variation in cereal production in Saida province and that the phenomenon of inefficiency remains important in the cultivation of cereal in Saida Province and must be adopted in production models.

Using the Eveiws 10 program. The study concluded that there is a unidirectional causal relationship that tends from the magnanimity of Islamic sukuk towards the per capita GDP in the long term, the study also found, through the movement of the pulse response functions of the VAR model, that occur in Islamic sukuk have a weak positive impact of different value according to periods on the per capita GDP, as it became clear that Islamic sukuk needs a long time to show its impact on growth economic.

  • Sources of financing the general budget in Algeria and challenges of its
sustainability in light of the spread of the Corona pandemic

    • Authors: Ismail Sari
Abstract:  This study aims to control the main sources of public budget financing in Algeria and the main challenges to the sustainability of public finances, in particular with regard to the spread of the Corona pandemic. We relied on the descriptive analytical approach, in order to describe the study variables and to collect and analyze the data. We had difficulty in getting the State to pursue its spending policy at the same pace given the fragility of the current financial situation with the exposure of the budget and the economy to crude oil prices. This forces the government to reform the weaknesses of the public budget in a reliable, efficient and effective manner, with the aim of reducing the cost of revenue collection and broadening its base, and facilitating the disbursement of expenditure within a framework of transparency. and discipline while reducing the cost of fiscal policy programs in order to achieve financial sustainability.
