  • Corporate Social Responsibility and Leverage Level on High Profile
Industries at Indonesian Stock Exchange of 2015-2019 Period

    • Authors: Liliana Inggrit Wijaya, Arif Herlambang, Billy Evans
      Pages: 1 - 16
Abstract: This study aims at analyzing the effect of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and the level of use of debt on financial performance. The variables used in this study included corporate social responsibility, debt, age, size and employees. This study uses a quantitative paradigm with the least square regression panel data processing method. The population in this study is all non-financial sector companies included in the high profile industry category at the Indonesia Stock Exchange (ISE) for the 2015-2019 period. The results prove that CSR has a significant positive effect on financial performance as proxied by Tobin's Q. When a company's CSR is high, it will have a positive impact on its financial performance. Then, leverage has a negative effect on the performance because the higher the debt, the lower the company's performance.

  • Brand Gravity-Resonance Capability on Brand Love: a Resource-Advantage
           theory Perspective

    • Authors: Roymon Panjaitan, Farida Indriani
      Pages: 17 - 34
Abstract: This research intends to explore the experience of using brands in the past to increasingly love product brands through brand gravity-resonance capability, especially in the competition of the multi-business product sector. The novelty of this study lies in the synthesis of brand gravity variables, and brand resonance provides the proposed brand gravity-resonance capability variables of the resource-advantage theory of competition proposition results. Data were collected from 499 small and medium-sized business respondents through the dissemination of questionnaires and interviews. The SEM-PLS technique analyzes data with a path mediated by brand gravity-resonance capability on brand love. The results showed that brand gravity-resonance capability successfully mediated the brand experience relationship in brand love and the direct connection of brand experience in the past, and brand gravity-resonance capability in brand love managed to increase the sense of brand love. The practical implications of the novelty of this variable provide improvements to MSME managers or businesses to resonate the value of digital aggressiveness, configure science, integrate customer systems, and be oriented towards the creation of new markets. Conceptual implications contribute as new conceptual models that can bridge negative experiences to result in a dynamic and competitive comparative advantage in the market.

and Price Discount on Online Shopping Decision and Loyalty of Generation Z

    • Authors: Abdul Halik, Mulyanto Nugroho
      Pages: 35 - 54
Abstract: The phenomenon of the covid 19 pandemics has changed consumer behavior, especially Generation Z who are proficient with social media, but there needs to be a trigger to want to shop at the marketplace. The purpose of this research is to find out empirically about the role of online shopping as mediation, the effect of content marketing, and price discounts on loyalty. consumers, as well as testing consumer pleasure as a moderator. This study uses a population of students who have shopped online at least 3 times using a sample of 100. Using the incidental sampling technique, you are ready to fill out the google form link. The results of this study found that online shopping has a positive effect on consumer loyalty, but online shopping needs encouragement from content marketing and price discounts that make consumers interested. The finding from moderation is that consumer pleasure weakens the effect of content marketing on online shopping, although not significantly. Meanwhile, consumer pleasure strengthens the effect of price discounts on online shopping, although it is not significant. Based on this research, it is proven that discounted prices are more attractive to consumers because they can perform efficiently during this pandemic.

  • The Impact of Financial Education and Socioeconomic Status on the
           Undergraduate Students' Financial Literacy

    • Authors: Khusaini Khusaini, Bambang Mardisentosa, Asep Ferry Bastian, Ruhiyat Taufik, Windi Widiawati
      Pages: 55 - 76
Abstract: Financial literacy is a crucial variable for researchers and policymakers because financial literacy's contribution encourages inhabitants to organize future financial planning and decision improvement. The study aims to empirically investigate the determinants of financial literacy such as financial education, parents' socioeconomic status, and gender. The authors used a cross-sectional survey approach with N = 325 samples. The result of measuring students' financial literacy showed a moderate condition (moderate level). The multiple linear regression models showed that parents' socioeconomic status significantly improved students' financial literacy. Meanwhile, financial education and gender did not prove significant in influencing students' financial literacy. The empirical study generated that encouraging parents is one of the essential policy elements in improving students' financial literacy. The higher students' socioeconomic status tends to encourage better financial planning and decision because they comprehend the literacy skills.

  • Understanding the ‘Shadow Economy’ in SMES – a Malpractice from
           Indonesia, 2009-2020

    • Authors: Diana Lestari, Syarifah Hudayah, Arfiah Busari
      Pages: 77 - 95
Abstract: Concerns about the shadow economy in Indonesia, estimated to have hurt GDP by around 25% per year. We try to calculate the effect of the components involved in tax revenue caused by the shadow economy because we projected it to hinder the growth of SMEs. It aimed the orientation at Indonesia. We got data coverage from official institutions of national and international related to variable limits. We observe the development in the period 2009-2020, which requires linear regression analysis methods and non-linear logistic regression. The results confirm that among the six hypotheses we propose, five hypotheses are acceptable, i.e. FDI has a significant effect on the share of SMEs, corruption perceptions and control of corruption have a significant effect on income and profit taxes, then it also has a significant effect on the shadow economy, and the shadow economy also has an effect significant to tax revenue. From other findings, only the share of SMEs has no significant effect on income and profit taxes. The added value of this empirical finding can reduce the weaknesses of previous studies that predominantly consider financial (tax) and economic dimensions so that variables such as SMEs, corruption control, and public perceptions of corruption.

  • Analysis Food Demand of Java Households with Aids Model Estimates

    • Authors: Roeskani Sinaga, Manuntun Paruliah Hutagaol, Sri Hartoyo, R Nunung Nuryartono
      Pages: 96 - 108
Abstract: The quantity and quality of food consumed by the community are determined by the price level and household income. Household food expenditure share is still dominated by rice commodities. The aims of this study are 1) to analyze the level of household expenditure on food in Java and (2) to analyze the expenditure elasticity and price elasticity of household food demand in Java. The data used was March 2015, 2016, and 2017 SUSENAS data. Household consumption data was estimated using the AIDS Model. The results showed that household food expenditure share for medium and low-income groups (Q3 and Q4) for urban and rural areas was more than 50 percent. This shows that the household is food insecure. The own-price elasticity for all commodities is negative and inelastic. Changes in food prices do not significantly affect changes in demand for food commodities because their elasticity is inelastic. Household food demand is more influenced by food prices than household income for food commodities except for rice commodities. Rice has elastic expenditure elasticity (means that food demand is very responsive to changes in household expenditure/income. The relationship between each commodity is almost entirely negative (complementary).

  • Employee Performance Analysis Based on Human Resources Management
Practices in Private Hospital in Surakarta

    • Authors: Rini Handayani, Kasidin Kasidin
      Pages: 109 - 126
Abstract: Human resource management (HRM) is the foundation to face business competition. Organizational strategies related to HRM create satisfaction among employees so that employees perform well and can create a competitive advantage for their organization. The need for human resources in the hospital industry has developed along with the availability of hospitals reaching 2813 hospitals in Indonesia. This of course requires superior human resources performance. HRM practices are expected to drive human resources performance and achieve a competitive advantage in the hospital industry. This study will examine the effect of HRM practices, namely training, performance appraisal, and compensation systems on employee performance. Furthermore, this study will also examine the role of job satisfaction to mediate HRM practices on employee performance. The study was conducted in a private hospital in the Surakarta area with a sample of 120 respondents. Convenience sampling technique as a sampling method used to collect samples using a questionnaire. SmartPLS is used to analyze research data. The results showed that there was a significant positive effect on HRM Practices (training, performance appraisal, compensation system) on employee performance. However, job satisfaction only mediates the effect of performance appraisal and compensation system on employee performance, while job satisfaction does not play a role in mediating the effect of training on employee performance..

  • Knowledge-Worker Productivity in Defense Industry: The Role of Knowledge
Management through Employees’ Adaptability and Job Satisfaction

    • Authors: Nawangsari Wardhani, Noermijati Noermijati, Sunaryo Sunaryo
      Pages: 140 - 160
Abstract: This research aims to investigate the direct effect of knowledge management on knowledge-worker productivity and the indirect effect mediated by employees' adaptability and job satisfaction. The research was conducted at PT. Pindad (Persero) Malang as a specific knowledge-based manufacturing industry company. The research population is employees who work in the department that is closely related to the knowledge of ammunition products. Furthermore, 203 employees became the research sample taken proportionally and randomly from the population using proportionate random sampling technique. The data analysis method was carried out using a structural equation modeling (SEM) model with a partial least square (PLS) approach. The results indicate that knowledge management has no significant effect on knowledge-worker productivity, but knowledge management has a significant effect on adaptability, and adaptability has a significant effect on knowledge-worker productivity. Knowledge management also has a significant effect on job satisfaction, and job satisfaction also has a significant effect on knowledge-worker productivity. Thus, adaptability and job satisfaction have a full mediating role on the effect of knowledge management on knowledge-worker productivity. This research contributes fill the research gap on the influence of knowledge management on knowledge-worker productivity with the presence of adaptability and job satisfaction as a mediating variable.
