      Abstract: COVID-19 induced lockdowns have made it extremely difficult for the poorer section of the community to arrange sustenance items like food and medicines due to the lack of cash flow coupled with the closure of markets. Although multiple organisations took initiatives to help this vulnerable cohort by distributing essential items, they ended up either oversupplying or undersupplying at different regions due to the lack of a reference framework. Hence, the study develops a model to aid the national relief distribution process during a pandemic. This study considers the capacitated plant location model and applies the linear programming tool to formulate and solve the model. The model assigns a target and service zones, to relief organisations based on their capacity and proximity and avoid redundant relief goods to easily accessible areas. The model can be used by government, private, and non-profit alike to distribute relief during any similar future events as well.

      Abstract: Digitalisation is playing a very crucial role in India during the COVID-19 lockdown. Grocery items are one of the essential commodities needed by the people during the lockdown. The sales of online grocery stores rose abnormally during the pandemic and stores faced a lot of problems while delivering grocery items to consumers. It becomes very difficult for them to deliver the products on time and maintain the satisfaction level of the consumes. During that time, huge online reviews were posted by consumers on different digital platforms. This study focussed on analysing those reviews and developing a supervised machine learning model. Sentiment analysis is used to develop the classification model. TF-IDF followed by naïve Bayes classification techniques is used to do the sentiment analysis. The developed model helps the online grocery stores to deal with huge online reviews and segment the consumers based on their positive and negative reviews.

      Abstract: The world is beholding new drifts in retail buying, health services, social factors during the current pandemic. Retailers and suppliers are challenged to take the risk and prepare themselves to implement strategic actions according to the dynamic environment. This study has made an effort to identify the key determinants of the retailer-supplier relationship to be focused on surviving amidst COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to identify the key determinants of retailer-supplier relationship and assessing retail firms' supply chains appropriate as per key determinant to be intensive in a pandemic situation. The work reveals collaboration efficiency and co-creation are the prominent determinants for dealing the retailer-supplier association. The study shows that order fulfilment is the most suitable RSCs for creating co-creation and capabilities in managing humanitarian logistics to survive in the COVID-19 pandemics.

  • Impact of sustainable supply chain management on performance of SMEs

      Abstract: The disruption caused by COVID-19 along the rapidly changing business environment coupled with the supply network complexity may trigger unforeseen disruptions and make supply chains vulnerable to financial losses and in extreme cases, it leads to a firm shut down. The research is an effort to introduce a conceptual model to evaluate sustainable practices and dynamic capabilities to ensure performance in a disruptive environment. Determinants were identified from the literature for the study of Sustainable practices and capabilities during disruption and uncertain business environment and are based on the concept of the triple bottom line. A research survey collected data from 153 consumer goods SMEs. structural equation modelling (SEM) has been used to analyse the structural model proposed. The analytical outcomes of this research contribute to the existing literature and enable practitioners to design and implement sustainable supply chain activities and monitor and evaluate the impact of such activities on business sustainability among Indian firms.

  • Modelling the barriers of supply chain transparency in the

      Abstract: Transparent supply chains have slowly gained prominence because of their utility in resolving sustainability concerns and improving operational efficiency and decision making. It requires companies to know more about their upstream chain and communicate it to their internal and external stakeholders. This in turn helps build resilience into the supply chains, making response quicker in the face of disruptive events such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite both the necessity and obligation, companies are struggling with implementing a transparent supply chain because of unclear reasons. In this paper, we identify and model those barriers in implementing transparent supply chains. Results suggest that customer privacy drives other barriers in the system and hence should be given adequate importance while forming the data pipeline for transparent supply chains. Vague short-term ROI, low technology adoption, and underdeveloped infrastructure also emerged as critical barriers that managers should carefully mitigate while implementing transparency in supply chains.
