Abstract: The research aims to comprehend the strategic role of alumni associations of Kazakhstan's higher educational institutions in achieving environmental, social, and governance (ESG) sustainability initiatives. The study administered quantitative and qualitative techniques and collected the 310 respondents' opinions with the support of the questionnaire only after checking the reliability and validity using McDonald Omega and Bartlett's test of sphericity. The collected data was summarized, coded, and decoded using Microsoft Excel and R Language R Studio. The six selected hypotheses were tested by administering Cochran's Q test, and the qualitative data was analyzed using the concordance coefficient formula. The significant findings are that 88 percent of people and 83 percent of companies in Kazakhstan strictly follow environmental, social, and governance-related actions and activities. The qualitative research also proved a confident and significant positive orientation among the alumni associations on achieving sustainable development goals.

Abstract: Nowadays, several educational technology and English learning apps on the Google Play Store cater to various learning levels and objectives. However, the parents had difficulty finding an appropriate app for their kids. It is challenging when there is a diversity of English learning apps in the market. Not only product brands but also prices affect the customer‘s choice behavior. A good product will achieve customer satisfaction. And the praise of experienced customers will be a suggestion for potential customers. This paper uses sentiment analysis as a factor of criteria set for evaluating English learning Apps from Vietnamese companies. The Python language was used in all the analysis processes, and the sentiment score of 8,756 reviews for English learning apps was calculated. The criteria to evaluate the App include overall rating, sentiment scores, and number of downloads. The results will be a suggestion for improving the quality of companies‘ products and a recommendation for users when choosing a suitable Edtech product.

  • Does Inflation Affect Emissions Reduction'

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

Authors: Nguyen; Dat Duy, Huyen, Mai Thanh
      Pages: 1 - 16
Abstract: Inflation and sustainable development are two important factors in the economic development of most countries. This study will use empirical analysis to examine how macroeconomic variables, including the money supply (M2), economic growth rate (GRR), trade openness (TO), and inflation (INF), related to CO2 (the environment variable) in Vietnam from 1995 to 2022. The effect of detecting emitted CO2 can be considered both in the short and long term. This study uses the research analysis method of the self-healing distributed slow (ARDL) model. Several independent variations are proposed in the model, including M2 supply, economic growth rate, trade expansion rate, and issuance rate, to evaluate the influence of increasing emission waste. Research results show that the impacts are statistically significant in the short and long term. Finally, the study also offers some policy tips for Vietnam to adjust economic variables to achieve a better level of development and move towards sustainable economic development.

  • Learner Leadership and Student Loyalty

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

      Authors: Hu; Jie, Widtayakornbundit, Sarun
      Pages: 1 - 19
Abstract: In this study, the author examined the impact of student leadership practices (SLP) on student loyalty (SL) in public universities in Guangxi. The survey included students from various academic levels, spanning from freshmen to seniors, who were enrolled in 10 public universities located in Nanning, Guangxi. The SmartPLS software was used to perform structural equation modeling analysis. The data were analyzed using a partial least squares structural equation model to explore the relationships between self-efficacy (SE), individualism (IND), collectivism (COL), and affective commitment (AC) variables. The results suggest that the significance of SLP to SL is influenced by SE, COL, IND, and AC. This finding suggests that COL in China has a substantial influence on students' positive behavior, whereas IND has a favorable impact on students' conduct. Moreover, it is important to highlight that SE does not directly influence SL; it indirectly impacts SL through AC. This study emphasizes the importance of academic collaboration in the setting of higher education institutions.

  • Effect of Transparency of Algorithmic Performance Management on Proactive
           Work Behavior

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

      Authors: Cai; Yining, Wang, Chen
      Pages: 1 - 17
Abstract: Algorithm transparency, as an important factor in explaining the algorithm black box, is attracting increasing attention from scholars on the impact of algorithm system transparency on employee behavior. This study aims to investigate the effect of algorithmic performance management transparency on employees' proactive work behavior and constructs a moderated mediation model. The model was tested with a sample of 321 employees from five high-tech companies in China. The results suggest that transparency of algorithmic performance management promotes employee proactive work behavior via employees' motivation to improve performance, while the interaction between transparency of algorithmic performance management and psychological ownership weakens this influence mechanism. Therefore, this study reveals the positive effects of transparency in algorithmic performance management as well as its boundary conditions, providing theoretical and practical insights into the application of algorithms in organizations.

  • Preserving Traditional Market in Indonesia Based on the New Public
           Governance Perspective

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

Authors: Wibawa; Samodra, Firdaus, Rindu S. M., Indroyono, Pruthut, Dumairy, Dumairy, Savitri, Laksmi A.
      Pages: 1 - 14
Abstract: This paper uses the new public governance concept to explore how to manage traditional markets in Indonesia, which are marginalized and threatened by modern shops and online stores. Comparative research was conducted in two markets in Yogyakarta and West Sumatra. The study employed a qualitative approach involving in-depth interviews and observations. It found that the two traditional markets are managed in a participative-democratic way, involving local culture/wisdom. The social environment contributes to the survival of traditional markets. The markets also function as a venue for social interaction, idea exchange, friendship, small talk, and political discourse. The study suggests that the management model used by these two markets should be implemented in other traditional markets in Indonesia. To strengthen the claim that the democratic-participatory model is more successful than other models, this study can be compared to research on markets managed by government agencies and those which are managed undemocratically by traders and the community.

  • The Influential Roles of Marketing Stimuli on Customer Retention

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

Authors: Liao; Ying Kai, Wu, Wann-Yih, Gajendran, Saranya, Kuo, Yuan Tsung
      Pages: 1 - 18
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to explore the necessity of creating retention strategies, emphasize the significance of customer retention, and propose a customer value/retention model. The main objective is to combine three mediators - customer satisfaction (CS), customer loyalty (CL), and word of mouth (WOM) - and evaluate their effect on customer retention using YL Company, a Taiwanese chemical manufacturing company, as a case study. The proposed model's goodness-of-fit was assessed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and SEM-AMOS. Hierarchical regression and the PROCESS macro were employed to examine mediation and moderation effects. The outcomes indicate that product quality, service quality, and price attribution act as marketing stimuli factors that significantly influence the three mediators. Relationship proneness serves as a negative moderator that impedes customer WOM and loyalty's influence on customer retention.

  • Profitability and Expanding Collection Period in Bangladesh

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

Authors: Ahkam; Sharif Nurul, Alom, Khairul
      Pages: 1 - 14
Abstract: In this article, the authors investigate the relationship between profitability and receivables management of DSE listed non-financial firms in Bangladesh for the years 2000-2017. A cointegration model is used to examine the relationship between average collection period (ACP), return on assets (ROA), firm size, and debt ratio of firms. Impulse response analysis indicates that while the other variables quickly return to equilibrium, a shock to ACP or profitability seems to have a significant and durable impact on the relationship. A GMM model has also been used to estimate a regression that shows the impact of increasing ACP on profitability. The results strongly point to a cointegrating relationship and the critical role of receivables management on profitability. The article contributes to the existing literature by providing strong evidence that the average collection period is the most critical variable in addressing control of working capital management. However, this variable is the most difficult variable to manage, especially after there is an indication that it is worsening.

  • The Impact of Electronic Word-of-Mouth on the Purchase Intention of
Tourists on Online Hotel Booking Applications

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

Authors: Nguyen; Dao Thi Bich, Nguyen, Van Thi Khanh
      Pages: 1 - 19
Abstract: The study emphasizes the growing significance of electronic word-of-mouth (EWOM) in marketing, especially in service industries like tourism. Employing a research model combining the information adoption model (IAM) and the theory of reasoned action (TRA), the study investigates factors influencing EWOM adoption on online travel agency (OTA) platforms using data from 286 Ho Chi Minh City tourists. Analyzing the data through exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and structural equation modeling (SEM), the results highlight positive relationships between information quantity and product ranking with EWOM adoption. However, information credibility, quality, and reviewer expertise do not directly impact adoption. EWOM adoption directly influences purchasing intention and indirectly affects it through attitude and subjective norm. The findings offer insights for managers to develop effective strategies and enhance competitiveness in the hospitality industry.

      Authors: Pimpa; Nattavud
      Pages: 1 - 16
Abstract: Business schools worldwide are integrating sustainability into their curricula, yet a gap persists in understanding students' perspectives on these courses' effectiveness in preparing for sustainability challenges. This study investigates undergraduate students' perceptions of essential sustainability skills and knowledge they learn in a business school. Through three focus group interviews with 15 undergraduates, four themes emerged: mindsets, skills, learning approaches, and global perspectives. Students expect sustainability education to enhance comprehension, workforce readiness, and life skills, emphasising technical and global competencies. They advocate for more engaging, integrated online and face-to-face learning approaches to better prepare for sustainability careers.

Abstract: Drawing on social exchange and reformulation of attitude theories, the research model is proposed to test the interrelationships of ethical leadership, procedural justice, organizational trust, work engagement, and organizational innovation. Organizational trust and work engagement are identified as sequential mediators to explore the relationships between procedural justice, ethical leadership, and organizational innovation. Furthermore, a proactive personality is identified as a moderator for the relationship between work engagement and organizational innovation. This article advances and extends the knowledge of the antecedents of organizational innovation from organizational fairness perspectives and ethical leadership style in the Chinese IT industry.

      Authors: Al-khateeb; Bilal Ahmad Ali
      Pages: 1 - 15
Abstract: Generally, BI plays a very significant role in promoting the success of any organization, particularly the universities; however, not all BI projects have been implemented successfully by the universities across the word, suggesting that only a few universities appear to have faith in BI as strategy for success and sustainability particularly in this era where data speak. As a result, this study attempts to establish the relationship between BI and university sustainability and success. Therefore, the major objective of the study is to find an empirical link between BI and university sustainability and success with particular interest in Saudi Arabia. Overall, the study found that business intelligence affects the university sustainability but not its success. It shows that BI assists the university in making good decisions that may sustain the university while ensuring that the university does not fall below break-even in terms of success. By implication, the university can use business intelligence as a strategy for sustainability but not work well for achieving the desired success.

  • A Paradoxical Study of the Influence of Underdog Expectations on
           Employees' Work Status

Authors: Wu; Di, Yang, Jun, Wang, Yong
      Pages: 1 - 18
Abstract: While prior studies have demonstrated that underdog expectations (UEs) can benefit or harm performance, research of whether they are detrimental or beneficial to employees' work status has not been much explored. Based on the two-mode models of self-regulation theory, the authors develop a model of the double-edged sword effect of UEs on employees' work status and their boundary conditions. Data from 357 employees showed that: (1) UEs positively affect affective rumination (AR), AR positively affects work alienation (WA) and thus mediates between UEs and WA; (2) UEs positively affect problem-solving pondering (PSP), PSP positively affects work engagement (WE) and thus mediates between UEs and WE; (3) Mindfulness moderated the relationship between UEs and AR, thereby moderating the mediating effects of AR and PSP; (4) Mindfulness moderated the relationship between UEs and PSP, thereby moderating the mediating effects of PSP. This study advances the UEs research. It also provides suggestions on how to leverage the positive effects of UEs with the alertness to mitigate its negative effects.

      Authors: Tansitpong; Praowpan
      Pages: 1 - 19
Abstract: The study examines service dimensions provided by each operating flight to explore their impact on airline operational performance. The results suggested that after COVID-19, better quality of responding to requests, service efficiency, check-in processes, and arrival service are crucial operational factors contributing to increased market share. Regression analysis reveals a crucial link between service quality and operational outcomes. Moreover, networks or number of operating countries have positive impacts on load factor. The study reveals the interconnected nature of service quality and operational outcomes, shedding light on how factors such as passenger interactions, efficient airport services, and in-flight service execution collectively impact both market share and load factors in the post-COVID-19 context. This study provides valuable insights into the intricacies of missing gaps in the service of the industry that have a pivotal role in customer experience and shaping operational achievements.

      Authors: Shim; Hyungwook, Hahm, Jaegyoon
      Pages: 1 - 14
Abstract: As a measure to improve the operational efficiency of the Korean supercomputer joint utilization resources, an efficiency analysis using DEA was conducted to derive the improvement level of the input and output factors of the operation plans of seven specialized centers. The factors that constitute the objective function of efficiency were identified through the operation plans submitted by the specialized centers, and DEA analyzed the improvement factors and levels of inefficient specialized centers through the CCR and BCC models, and then conducted an additional super-efficiency analysis to compare the relative efficiency levels among the efficiency groups. As a result of the analysis, the inefficiency of specialized centers in the meteorological/climate/environmental fields was identified from the reference group, and the need for improvement and the level of improvement of input and output variables were identified. In addition, the authors suggested ways to improve the establishment of resources and operational targets, such as a joint utilization ratio to secure financial efficiency at the government level in establishing a joint utilization resource.

Abstract: Business opportunities are expanding on e-commerce platforms such as Lazada, Shopee, and e-Bay. However, the Shopee app has the highest user statistics in Malaysia, making it the most suitable platform for small traders like B40 (bottom 40% income) women in Malaysia. Many B40 women experience problems identifying suitable products for sale, as well as improving their product quality. A study of customer reviews to identify the most important attributes of online food products was conducted. A Shopee scraper tool was built to acquire a home-business product dataset. Fourteen attributes were analyzed, and the top five most influential attributes were identified for both positive and negative reviews. The results show that the attributes that have the highest overall impact on online home-business food sales are taste, price, appearance, and texture as well as package condition, delivery service, and free gifts. It is noted that daily snacks and side dishes to go with main meals are suitable for year-round sales, while seasonal cookies are usually in demand only during festive seasons.

  • Classifying Different Levels of Customer Satisfaction With Vietnamese
Hotel Services by Analyzing Customer Feedback

Authors: Nguyen; Ha Thi Thu, Manh, Hung Nguyen, Kim, Thoa Bui Thi
      Pages: 1 - 22
Abstract: The development of online booking systems has created information platforms for sharing customers when choosing a destination. Mining this information helps to understand the customer's experience and measure customer satisfaction with hotel services. Recent studies used this approach with machine learning or language models to mine the data generated by customers on the internet. However, this approach still has some limits when wanting to understand more customer insight. This article uses linguistics rules to measure customer satisfaction by combining aspects and polarity words. In the first step, the dataset with 21,196 reviews on seven main cities in Vietnam was collected from TripAdvisor. Next, the study developed a series of formulas to measure customer satisfaction with Vietnamese hotel service aspects based on inferential statistics and linguistic rules. Python's VADER library was used to measure overall customer satisfaction for Vietnamese hotels. In the final step, by language analysis, the authors calculate and grade the satisfaction score with hotel aspects from 1 to 5. Moreover, the study discovered the negative aspects of positive reviews, while previous studies were rarely mentioned.

Authors: Taskin; Sharmin, Javed, Amna, Kohda, Youji
      Pages: 1 - 15
Abstract: Corporate sustainability (CS) has drawn the attention of academics and practitioners as a way to achieve profitable businesses without negatively impacting society. However, financial business organizations have not adequately realized the importance of CS in meeting sustainable development goals (SDGs). Thus, it is unclear how the financial sector will achieve the SDGs using CS. All 17 goals are essential, but achieving them depends on which CS issues the organization prioritizes. This study uses a qualitative case study to investigate the use of CS to achieve SDGs at financial corporations. Interviews were conducted with five respondents from City Alo, an SME banking segment of City Bank in Bangladesh, and 15 women entrepreneurs engaging with this organization to receive entrepreneurship education through a bank–university collaboration. The results show that the private banking organization achieved seven SDGs by prioritizing appropriate CS issues.

      Pages: 1 - 23
Abstract: This empirical study aims to examine what drives consumers' behavioral intention to adopt digital wallet by integrating task technology fit theory into UTAUT model. For this purpose, 700 samples were approached through emails, out of which 479 valid responses were solicited. To test and validate the proposed research model, CFA and SEM were performed using AMOS 20. The results of this study highlighted that task technology fit emerged as one of the significant factors among all factors included in the model with direct and indirect effect on behavioral intention. More interestingly, effort expectancy, hedonic motivation, and cost are found to be other significant predictors of consumers' digital wallet adoption. The outcomes of this study provide valuable insights for digital wallet service providers, system developers, and governments for their strategic decision to enhance the adoption of digital wallet in the upcoming digital era. This study contributes specifically in the area of digital wallet adoption and information system acceptance in general.

      Pages: 1 - 24
Abstract: Taiwan's retailing industry faces fierce competition, and there are practical gaps regarding price promotion and repurchase intention. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the impact of department stores' price promotion strategies on consumers' repurchase intentions and what the moderation effect of perceived risks has on the relationship between price promotion and repurchase intention. The results show (1) the consistency, presentation, and information content of price promotion on the repurchase intentions have a positive and significant impact, and (2) the perceived risks would weaken the relationship of the price promotion and repurchase intention. Therefore, this study proposes related suggestions of business management strategy regarding the establishment of price consistency that customers can trust in when shopping at domestic department stores; to use different price promotion presentation methods to lock in the repurchase behavior of different customer groups; to fade the information contents of price promotions for price-oriented services; and to reduce customers' perceived risk.

      Authors: Laorach; Chanchira, Tuamsuk, Kulthida
      Pages: 1 - 15
Abstract: Organizational digital transformation comprises a number of significant factors for measuring success, each of which involves different evaluating criteria. This research was aimed at developing indicators and criteria behind Thai universities' organizational digital transformation by the use of the quantitative research method and a questionnaire for data collection. The informants included administrators of six Thai universities: 303 high-level administrators, 174 middle-level administrators, and 18 low-level administrators. From the total of 495 administrators, 262 completed and returned the questionnaire. Analyses were then performed based on the statistics showing frequencies and percentages. The findings showed nine key indicators, nine sub-indicators, and 10 evaluating criteria that are appropriate for evaluating the work outcomes in the dimension of digital transformation. The most appropriate indicators were the digital strategies and personnel. The results would benefit administrators, academics, researchers, and the officers involved in deploying the work of organizational digital transformation under the educational context. The benefits would be in planning and developing the policy in digital transformation of Thai universities that is in the right direction and more clarified. Other institutions would also be able to effectively and successfully apply the indicators in their digital transformation process.

Abstract: In terms of purpose, this research is an applied one; and in terms of method, it is a survey one. Given that project success is general, this study attempts to assess key success indicators in building projects through reviewing the related articles and expert interviews, and then identify them by reviewing the related articles and expert opinions on project human resource development criteria. In order for a more accurate evaluation, a separate questionnaire was drawn up for each success indicator, and the developmental impacts were prioritized based on the project success indicators. The first questionnaire was distributed among 52 specialists and the second one among 47 specialists. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS software. Six key success indicators in building projects were obtained from the results and the data analysis showed that human resource development played a positive role in all key success indicators; each criterion, however, had a different level of impact on the indicators.
