  • Makna Khashyah dalam Al-Qur’an: Analisis Kritis atas Emosi Dasar
           dalam Psikologi Islam

    • Authors: Jarman Arroisi, Abdul Rohman, Harits Mu’tasyim, Khoiruddin Abdullah, Adrian Syahidu
      Pages: 1 - 22
Abstract: The Meaning of Khashyah in Al-Qur'an: Critical Analysis of Basic Emotions in Islamic PsychologyFear is something that is human nature. Fear that is processed properly will be able to affect human psychic growth. The feeling of fear in Islam is called al-khashyah which has been mentioned many times in the Qur'an and by previous scholars. This paper aims to discuss the meaning of k hasyah in the Qur'an and its analysis in the perspective of Islamic psychology. This paper is in the type of literature review with the main reference source being the Holy Qur'an and its interpretations and books related to Khasyah. This paper is a qualitative research with semantic method used by the author to find the meaning of the Khashyah in the Qur'an, and then it will be analysed critically based on the frame of Islamic psychology. The results of this study indicate that the Qur'an explains a lot about the Khasyah in various derivations of its form, so that the Khasyah itself has various meanings. However, the essence of the meaning of Khashyah is the fear of Allah as a symbol of the perfection of one's faith. Knowledge is an important factor that can direct fear in the right path and direction. Fear that is guided by knowledge will be able to grow the mental health of its owner, in the form of good ethics, the spirit of worship, doing good deeds, and being far from lust. Thus, khasyah, faith, and knowledge are three interrelated things

  • Ajaran Resiliensi dalam Al-Qur’an Surat Yusuf untuk Menghadapi
           Pandemi Covid-19

    • Authors: Moh. Abdul Kholiq Hasan
      Pages: 23 - 42
Abstract: The Teaching of Resilience in the Al-Qur'an Surah Yusuf to Face the Covid-19 PandemicThis research aims to investigate the teaching of resilience in Surah Yusuf and its implementation for Indonesia amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. This study employs library research method with qualitative descriptive approach. Content analysis theory was used to analyse the text of Surah Yusuf and relevant commentaries, while the positive psychology approach is used for the implementation of resilience teachings to individuals and society. The results indicate that the concept of resilience in Surah Yusuf is generally built on three main factors including piety (I have), patience (I am), and iḥsān (I can). The aspects of resilience in Surah Yusuf which can be implemented amidst the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia are patience, gratitude, resignation, optimism, innovation, solution, self-confidence, reputation, empathy, forgiveness, trust, professionalism, and prayer. In the resilience teaching in Surah Yusuf, the role of spiritual values in the process of building resilience is more decisive, when compared to western model resilience. The higher the individual's spiritual value, the stronger the level of resilience

  • Makna Tadabbur Menurut Mufassir Klasik dan Modern: Sebuah Pembacaan

    • Authors: Abu Sufyan
      Pages: 43 - 60
Abstract: The Meaning of Tadabbur According to Classical and Modern Mufassir: A Historical ReadingThis paper aims to explore the meaning of tadabbur from the classical to the contemporary era. Departing from the lack of popularity of tadabbur terminology in their literature, this study shows that the meaning of tadabbur tends to be understood textually by classical commentators, as well as contextual meaning by modern commentators. By using a language approach and the history of interpretation, this paper does not focus on tadabbur as the practice of reading the Qur’an by certain groups, but on a conceptual study that is aligned with “tafsir” and “ta’wil”. This search was carried out using a literature study with a comparative-analytic method, which tried to show historical evidence of interpretation and bring it into the context of tadabbur in QS. Āl ‘Imrān: 7 based on the meaning of classical and modern commentators. This study finds that classical commentators understand tadabbur as a practical term that is at the level of reading the Qur’an (qira’ah). For them, this term represents certain theological meanings, including tilāwah, tabaṣṣur, and istinbāṭ. Meanwhile, in the view of the modernist group, tadabbur is understood as a methodological term that is at the level of interpretation (tafsir tadabburi). This is confirmed again by the urge to do ijtihad and leave taqlid

  • Konsep Pemikiran Sayyid Qutb tentang Bai’ah: Studi Analisis Tafsir
           Fi Zilalil Qur’an

    • Authors: Muhammad Roni, Muhammad Anzaikhan
      Pages: 61 - 82
Abstract: Sayyid Qutb's Concept of Bai'ah: Analytical Study of Tafsir Fi Zilalil Qur'anSayyid Qutb's thought in the political dimension is the concept of bai'ah. Bai'ah is an oath of allegiance to the leader as was often done by the companions of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. This article aims to review Sayyid Qutb's thought on the meaning of bai'ah which describes the promise of allegiance and the difference with the integrity pact. This article belongs to literature research with a qualitative approach. The methodology used is an analytical study of tamatic interpretation of the word 'bai'ah' in the book of Tafseer Fi Zilali Al-Quran. As for the verses of the Qur'an related to bai'ah have been found in Surah Al-Fath: 10, 18, and Surah Al-Mumtahanah: 12. The results of the study conclude two main things, first; Bai’ah initiated by Sayyid Qutb must depart from the right dimension of aqidah (not associating partners with Allah SWT) and be pious by not carrying out various actions prohibited by Him. Second; bai'ah is different from the integrity pact, if the integrity pact is more loyal in terms of work, bai'ah consists more of religious and state loyalty.

Abstract: Contribution of Qur’anic Studies by Indonesian Scientists in Higher Education in the Year 2009-2020This article examines various works of Qur’anic Studies written by Indonesian scientists that are utilized and widely used as references in universities and their contributions; because so far what has been used as a reference is the work of Qur’anic Studies in Arabic or some of its translations. This research was conducted in the form of qualitative research with library research methods with data collection techniques in the form of documentation of literature of Qur’anic Studies so that the printed version can be traced physically and/or published online in the form of complete soft file to be analysed descriptively-interpretatively. From the research in general, it was concluded that in the period of 2009-2020, the works of Qur’anic Studies from scientists in this field of science in Indonesia experienced a significant and increasing number of works, with the discovery of 21 more works than previous research, and they have not been used as an object of research. These works are the real contribution of Indonesian scientists in writing the work of Qur’anic Studies. Therefore, it is hoped that these works can be a reference source in the Qur’anic Studies course and then used as a reference source in the bibliography for subsequent works, equal to the works of other scholars of the Islamic world

Abstract: The Muqaddaman Tradition in Banjaragung Village, Bangsri District, Jepara Regency: A Study of the Living Qur'anMuqaddaman is an activity of reading the Qur'an which is carried out collectively, in which each individual receives a division of juz from 1 to 30 which is divided randomly according to their respective rations. Muqaddaman is a tradition that has been widely practiced by the Muslim community. This study aims to reveal the aspects of the living Qur’an in the muqaddaman tradition in Banjaragung village through a descriptive-inductive method with Max Weber's theory of social action as the analytical tool. This study seeks to answer how Max Weber's point of view on social action towards the muqaddaman tradition is in Banjaragung village. The results of this study are: First, this tradition is a part of the study of the living Qur’an. Second, based on the type of traditional action, traditional actors want to carry out Islamic religious symbols as traditions that have been carried out by scholars from generation to generation. Third, affective action shows that the perpetrators of the action have an emotional bond with religious leaders and the time of execution (Thursday). Fourth, in term of rational instrumental action, the actors can carry out the tradition rationally and consciously, both from the financial aspect and human resources. Fifth, in term of value rationality, actors want to emulate the behaviour of religious figures, to get used to giving alms, and to instil the value of member solidarity

Abstract: Legal Contextualization of Marrying Adulterers in the Married by Accident Phenomenon from Hadith PerspectiveThis article contains the legal contextualization of marrying adulterers on the emergence of the phenomenon of Married by Accident in Indonesia with the hadith in Sunan Abu Dawud number 2052. The discussion regarding the quality of the hadith in Sunan Abu Dawud number 2052 in its use as evidence (hujjah) and how the correlation between the meaning of the hadith and the contextualization of the rules of marrying an adulterer in the phenomenon of married by accident is interesting to be discussed by seeing the position of hadith as a muttafaq source in addressing all of the problems in human life. The method used in this study was normative qualitative with the critic sanad and matan hadis approach, in which all of those were analized using texual, intertextual and contextual interpretation theories. The results obtained show that the quality of the hadith prohibiting adulterous marriage on Sunan Abu Dawud number 2052 can be categorized as authentic hadith and can be used as evidence (hujjah) in the legal decision (istinbath) of marriying adulterers. Meanwhile, the results of the analysis of the meaning of the hadith narrated by Abi Dawud stated that if it is correlated with the current Married by Accident phenomenon, the law of marrying an adulterer was permitted by looking at the benefits in it

Abstract: Methods for Developing Social Intelligence in Learning Al-Qur'an and Hadith at An-Nursali Binjai Islamic Boarding School, North SumatraSocial intelligence is a good potential in children and is the main capital to gain success in life. The importance of social intelligence for children is the focus of this research, so this study aims to find the methods used by teachers to develop social intelligence in learning Al-Qur'an and Hadith, and explain the reasons teachers use these methods. This study uses a phenomenological qualitative method which aims to analyze the phenomenon and its context. The phenomenon analyzed is the development of social intelligence in learning Al-Qur'an Hadith at An-Nursali Binjai Islamic Boarding School which consists of developing learning inside and outside the classroom. The social intelligence of students is developed through exemplary methods, habituation, punishment, giving advice for students who violate the rules, and halaqah activities. According to the teacher, the use of this method gives students the opportunity to dig up information and ask questions related to the subject matter. In addition, the material discussed is not only memorizing verses of the Qur'an and performing worship (hablumminallah) but also discussing muamalah (hablumminannas), so that students' social intelligence can be fostered cognitively, affectively and psychomotorically based on Allah's commands in the Qur'an

      Pages: 187 - 210
Abstract: Shahifah Madinah: A State System According to the Prophet Muhammad SAWShahifat al-Madinah as a reference for the model of state life at the time of the Prophet Muhammad can be found in two books, namely: the book of Al-Amwal and in the book of sirah nabawiyah ibn Hisham. In previous research, it is stated that in the book of Al-Amwal, although the hadith has a sanad, there are two narrators who are considered weak (mursal), while in the book of Ibn Hisham, there is no sanad. To find out the existence of the contents of the shahifah in the hadith so that it can be used as a guide, it is necessary to study it from the perspective of the hadith. The purpose of this study is to find out the state system in Shahifat al-Madinah and to find out the hadiths containing the texts/manuscripts of Shahifat al-Madinah. This research used a library approach with the method of content analysis (content analysis) on the Shahifat al-Madinah. The results show that the main book 9 encyclopedia can be found in the book Sahih al-Bukhari no. 6756, Sunan Abu Daud no. 2606, Musnad Ahmad Ibn Hambal No. 913, 1231 and 1330, 8808, 9432. However, there are related hadiths in it as follows: Sahih al-Bukhari no. 1737, 1740, 2936, 2943,6258, Sahih Muslim no. 2429, 2433, 2434,2435, 2774, Sunan Tirmidzi no. 2053, Sunan Abu Daud no. 1739, Musnad Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal no. 581, 986, 6920, 8808, 10384, 13012, 16112

Abstract: Dissecting Hermeneutics from the Perspective of Modern Muslim Scientists: Its Correlation in the Study of Hadith SciencesThe development of Islamic studies in modern times affects information technology and the science of hadith is growing so rapidly. One of them is evidenced by the research base in 2021-2022 in Google Scholar, Science Direct, many academics have responded. The purpose of this study is to analyze the hermeneutical method of hadith from the point of view of modern Muslim scientists. This study uses the Research Library method. The data was obtained by capturing relevant journal articles through Google Scholar and Scientific Direct. Data analysts follow Miles and Huberman with the knife of theoretical triangulation analysis and documentation grids. The results of this study interpret those hermeneutics in the study of hadith as very broad and very dense in scope. Not only in the scope of the Qur'an, but also the hadith, it is also very religious, even the principles in hadith hermeneutics also exist. Muslim scientists who specialize in hermeneutics in the study of hadith include Fazlur Rahman with his Double Movement theory, Nasr Abu Hamid Zaid with his semantic hermeneutics in the study of jihad hadith, Muhammad Musthofa A'Zani with his criticism of the authenticity of his hadith, Hans Georg Gadamer with his philosophical hermeneutics, and Paul Ricoeur with his text Hermeneutics on the scope of hadith about mahram. Thus, the contribution or implications of this research focus on analyzing the hermeneutics developed by modern Muslim scientists. Abstract: Structuralization of Takwil in The Interpretation of The Mutasyābihāt Verse: Study of the Book of al-Tafsīr Al-Munīr by Wahbah Al-ZuĥailiThe interpretation of al-Qur’an as a tool in explaining Islam needs to be interpreted comprehensively. Combining the understanding of structuralization in the interpretation process is one of the efforts used by many interpreters of the Qur’an to interpret the verses of the Qur’an, such as Wahbah al-Zuĥaili. He is one of the interpreters who pays attention to the process of interpreting mutasyābihāt verses in his work al-Tafsīr al-Munīr. This study aims to analyze the process of structuralization of takwīl used by Wahbah al-Zuĥaili for the mutasyābihāt verses in the book al-Tafsīr al-Munīr. This is qualitative research with a linguistic approach that includes text and context study. The main data used is al-Tafsīr al-Munīr and supported by other books and scientific literature. Then, data were analyzed using content analysis. The study indicates that Wahbah al-Zuĥaili in doing takwīl on mutasyābihāt verses in al-Tafsīr al-Munīr pays great attention to the use of grammatical language combined with the meaning of the verse so as to produce new meanings that are in accordance with the needs of society at that time and modern society today. In addition, the incorporation of this understanding of structuralization has been able to break the monotony qur’anic interpretation today.

  • Implementasi Pemikiran Hermeneutika Martin Heidegger dalam Studi Tafsir

    • Authors: Supriyanto Supriyanto
      Pages: 255 - 278
Abstract: Implementation of Martin Heidegger's Hermeneutic Thought in the Study of Quranic InterpretationThis article examines Martin Heidegger's hermeneutical thinking and its relevance in the discourse on the science of Qur'anic interpretation. This research was designed with qualitative methods and included in library research. The analysis used by the researcher is data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. From the study conducted, it can be seen that: 1) Heidegger's metaphysical deconstruction project begins with a realignment of the most basic of metaphysics, namely the question of being; 2) Heidegger is able to include hermeneutics as part of the study of philosophy, precisely as a form of methodical response in which the subject-object perspective must be objectified through a mode of understanding the world above the consciousness of the subject, so as not to produce a rigid and black-and-white understanding of reality-as stated by Wilhem Dilthey with his Geisteswissencheften and Naturwissencheften; 3) Regarding the integration of hermeneutics into the study of the Qur'an, some of Heidegger's thoughts are considered applicable to open horizons regarding the reality of the interpretation of the Qur'an itself. Regarding the facticity or flux experienced by dasein, it gives us an understanding that the socio-cultural conditions in which dasein lives can affect the formation of human understanding (interpreter), which in the study of interpretation is accommodated with the term pre-understanding or mahaula al-mufassir. The theory about the temporality of dasein at least inspires Muslim thinkers to continue to carry out interpretive activities in order to present religious dictums that have relevance to different social conditions between dasein

Abstract: The interpretation of the Qur’an with Qaul al-ṣaḥābah is a product of classical scholars. Interpretation with Qaul al-ṣaḥābah is considered as a very representative explanation of the truth of the understanding of the Qur’an because they are still meeting with the Prophet Muḥammad so that there are not many deviations. But this method of interpretation is often forgotten in the writing of tafsīr. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the process of interpretation of the Qur’an conducted by ṣaḥābah. This article is a research library with a descriptive approach to collect documentation data from various articles, books then analyzed by content analysis. The results of this research are the strengths of Tafsīr al-Ṣaḥābah are that they are neutral regardless of political interests or schools of thought, are free from the history of isrā’iliyyāt, and no difference. While its weakness is not yet interpreted broadly and in detail, it is still partial and free of critical nature. In some instances in the current era, it is possible to make laws based on Qaul al-ṣaḥābah as one of the sources of Islamic law. The similarity of this research with previous research is to discuss the interpretation of Qaul al-Ṣhaḥābah, including the characteristics and instruments and examples of interpretations of the Qur’an carried out by Ṣaḥābah, such as Ibn’ Abbās, Ibn Masʻūd, ‘Āisyah, Abū Hurairah and ‘Alī bin Abī Ṭālib. While the difference is this research found the strengths and weaknesses of the interpretation of Qaul al-Ṣhaḥābah. In the discussion, this article also analyzes Qaul al-Ṣhaḥābah as a source of Islamic law in the current era

Abstract: Renewal of Islamic Thought: A Construction of Qur'an-Hadith scholarly intellectualismThis research is a construction of Islamic thought reform in the case of the Qur’anic and Hadith studies. It aims at mapping the construction of intellectualism in the Qur’an and Hadith scholarship. Descriptive-analytic method is used in this study, tracing the renewal of Islamic thought in history. This study finds that rhetorical Islamic scholarship dominated the discourse and practice of Islamic teachings and scholarship.  In other words, with the addition of Salafi Islamic langue structure, the task of renewing Islamic thought confronts the hermeneutics of Islamic orthodoxy along with the institutions and agencies that support it. This results in the task of renewing Islamic thought not easily. Various attempts have been made and are being pursued by Islamic renewal thinkers with three variations of expressions and proposals for renewal. First, thinkers who approach the study of Islamic thought from a perspective outside of religious sources (the Qur'an and Hadith), the second group of Muslim thinkers who approach the study of Islamic thought from the perspective of internal sources of religion, and the third group of them who study it by combining various thought traditions

Abstract: Local Context in Interpreting Tolerance Verses in the Book of Tafsir Al-Mishbah by M. Quraish ShihabThe search for the idea of tolerance in the interpretation of the Qur'an which is popular in Indonesia is an important thing to do, given the condition of the pluralistic Indonesian nation. This study explores the local context of Indonesian textually in the interpretation of al-Mishbah by M. Quraish Shihab. This study was conducted through a textual analysis of the interpretation. The focus of this study is on the interpretation of the verses of tolerance in Tafsir Al-Mishbah, especially on five things: the interaction of believers and non-believers, coercion in religion, living together with people of different religions, the existence of people of the book [Ahl al-Kitab], and Islam as a mercy to the universe. This study finds that the local Indonesian context contained in this interpretation is in the translation and interpretation written in Indonesian. Although it is aimed at Muslims in general, it is clear that Muslims in Indonesia are part of the target. In the context of pluralism, the writing of this commentary is also intended to ground the Qur'an to a pluralistic society

  • Pemaknaan Hadis-Hadis Jihad dalam Website VOA ISLAM dan Relevansinya
           dengan Diskursus Islam Indonesia

Abstract: The Meaning of the Hadiths of Jihad in the VOA ISLAM Website and its Relevance to Indonesian Islamic DiscourseThis paper aims to determine the meaning of jihad hadiths on website and their relevance to Indonesian Islamic discourse. This is based on the phenomenon in which the current era of jihad hadith is often interpreted textually because it only relies on an understanding that is physical or literal. While the actual understanding of hadith is not that simple, it involves checking the sanad (transmission of hadith) and matan. If sanad and matan of a hadith are considered authentic, the next step is the use of fiqh al-hadith as a method for understanding a hadith by involving the socio-historical side and contextualizing meaning. Today, websites often used as references as legal references or solutions to various problems of Muslims. One of them is website which contains a lot of Islamic discourse that contains hadith, one of which is the hadith about jihad. This research is a qualitative research in the form of library research with descriptive analysis method. The meaning applied by website in understanding jihad hadiths is textually (haqiqi), that the word jihad in the hadith is understood more about war. The relevance of the meaning of jihad hadiths on website , especially on the meaning of war jihad, is irrelevant to Indonesian Islam. This is based on the situation and conditions of religious and state life in Indonesia which upholds peace. Moreover, the identity of Indonesian Islam is Islam wasathiyah (moderate), which leans on the principles of tawasuth, tawazun, ta'adul and tasamuh which cover various aspects of life.
