  • The fact of controversy among interpreters (A critical & analytical study
of the creed riddles from the Surah Al-baqarah)

    • Authors: Muhammad Umar Farooq, Muhammad Abdul Rasheed
Abstract: There are two types of verses of the Holy Qur’an. One of them has a very clear meaning (Muhkamat) and the others are likely to have more than one meaning (Mutashaihat). Therefore, there is a huge difference amongst the commentators about the meaning and explanations of these verses. It is the need of time to study thoroughly about the sayings of commentators, their reasons of differences, the way forward for their solution and the principles on which these differences are based upon. Moreover, there is disagreement among scholars upon what is the reality of those verses and on the basis of what rules and principles can these statements be applied or prioritized'  The verses in which the commentators differ the most are related to the doctrine of theology, (Ilahiyat) prophecy (Nabuwat), and samiy'at. Therefore, in this article we have critically examined the reality of the differences between the commentators on these three issues. However, due to the Expansion of the subject, we have limited the scope of study to only Surah Al-baqarah.

Because Islamic literature has the same nature, aspects and base worldwide. Even in different races and languages all its characteristics are common. This resemblance in their work on Islamic basis is attested and analyzed by our article.
