  • Determination of iodine concentration in some Food products in the Libyan
           market

    • Authors: Ezuldeen Mohammad Aposhaloa, Abdunnaser Mohamed Etorki
      Pages: 1 - 12
Abstract: Iodine is one of the most important elements that regulate metabolic processes in the human body, and although the body needs it in small quantities, its deficiency can cause an enlargement of the thyroid gland, and its deficiency can also cause physical and mental disorders in children and adults alike. This can easily be prevented by adding an amount of iodine to salt. The aim of this study is to determination the concentration of iodine in 32 different products (canned tuna, canned sardines, canned milk, salt, cheese and yogurt), where the average concentration of iodine in the tuna samples ranged canned (0.608-5.790mg/l) and in samples of canned sardines the average concentration of iodine ranged (0.719-3.071mg/l) and in milk samples the average concentration of iodine ranged (0.09-0.035mg/l) and in cheese samples the average concentration of iodine ranged (0.071-0.071) 3.60mg/l) and in the salt samples the average iodine concentration ranged (0.084-39.417mg/l) and in the yoghurt samples the average iodine concentration ranged (0.07-6.43mg/l)

  • Harmonic Mean Technique for Solving Fractional Programming Problems

    • Authors: Basim A Hassan, Hajar A Amer, Ahmed Q Mohamed
      Pages: 13 - 21
Abstract: Linear fractional programming is a ratio of two linear functions, rather than being linear. We present a harmonic mean technique for tackling Linear fractional programming problems in this study. The aim behind the technique is to convert a linear fractional programming issue into a linear programming problem and solve it algebraically using the Simplex method. To explain our technique, we used a variety of numerical examples. This technique appears to provide more computational gain than reducing the number of stages and tables.

  • Microstructure Changes related Mechanical Properties of Welded HSLA Steel
           Plates

    • Authors: Mahmoud Abid, Mohamed Salem, Osama Terfas, Mohamed Hamouda
      Pages: 22 - 32
Abstract: Strength and toughness of steel are the most desirable mechanical properties required in several engineering applications such as marine and oil industries. In this work, the influence of submerged arc welding (SAW) process on the evolution of microstructure and mechanical properties of locally produced low carbon steel plates that is used by Marine Industry and Maintenance Company (Misurata) as an alternative to the imported marine steel plates is investigated. Microstructure investigation, tensile tests, impact toughness, and hardness tests for both steels are conducted. Results show that microstructure is affected by the heat input of SAW leading to more uniform structure of ferritic-bainitic and finer grain sizes. Inherently, affecting the mechanical properties since a decrease in toughness in the heat affected zone HAZ and weld metal zone WM compared to the parent metal is observed. It is shown that the imported steel has higher toughness than local steel for pre-welded and welded plates, with imported steel offering significant reduction in toughness when subject to welding. The effect of welding can be related to the microstructural changes of the weld metal and HAZ attained by adapting proper consumable electrode and welding process strategies

    • Authors: Suliman A. Ben Rahma, Mohammad M. Qhiweet, Salem M. Awinat, Abd Alkarim S. Ebshish
      Pages: 33 - 48
Abstract: The distance protection may be affected by many factors that affect the measured impedance, such as the mutual coupling (mutual inductance in the case of parallel lines), power fluctuations, and fault resistance. These factors may cause wrong estimations by the protection devices and thus not take the right decisions to protect the electrical network in case of faults. In this paper, one of the existence factors that cause of the under-reach issue, which is the mutual coupling of parallel lines was studied on a part of the Zliten 30 kV electricity network using the Niplan program. The proposed solutions were investigated to reduce the impact of this problem and increase the effectiveness of distance protection devices.

  • Design of Dry HHO cell to Produce Hydrogen using Electrolysis

    • Authors: G. S. Almassri, Khalid M H Jaballa, benur maatug, Saeed Alqaed
      Pages: 49 - 58
Abstract: HHO dry cell means the cell that can separate the Oxygen and hydrogen from water molecules by DC electricity. In this paper, a simple dry HHO generation system has been designed and constructed. This system was used to investigate the effects of the electrical power and the reaction time on the production of hydroxy gas (HHO). In this experiment, the ammonia hydroxide is used as electrolyte with parallel plate of 316L-grade stainless steel as electrode. A 12-volt battery was used as an electrical power source in the experiment. For the certain electrolyte strength, the results obtained showed that, increasing in the power and the time of reaction leads to increase the yield of HHO gas, however the energy consumption to produce one liter of hydrogen is not dependent on the value of the current. Also, the results showed that, the energy consumption for the production of one kilogram of hydrogen is about 70.5600MJ. The results compared with that calculated using “Biggs HHO calculater” and was found in good agreement. In this experimental work, the ammonia hydroxide has been selected as the electrolyte of the system, because of its higher productivety of HHO compared with other common electrolytes such as sodium hydroxide (NaOH), and sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) which are used in this kind of systems. On the other hand, it was observed that the ammonia hydroxide caused excessive corrosion which is considered as disadvantage of the ammonia hydroxide

  • Philosophical theories on self-fighting and taste knowledge according to
           Ibn Sina

    • Authors: Siham Ahmed Al-Araiba
      Pages: 1 - 20
Abstract: The aim of the research is to discuss Ibn Sina’s ideas from a rational and mystical perspective, and how he combined positive scientific thinking based on witnessing tangible reality with philosophical contemplation based on abstract mental consideration, and how he sought to find a justification for philosophy and mysticism in the human soul itself, not in a factor or motive It is external, because the essence of the rational soul is prudence and awareness of things as they are, so it becomes true knowledge, and to the extent that the soul knows the existential truth, its perfection and its proximity to the reasonable world and its emulation of it. It is that the soul according to Ibn Sina, if it reaches the highest levels of perfection, is prepared to receive the taste knowledge about God, and that the purpose of the soul’s journey with him is to focus on the innermost knowledge of the self, and a closer knowledge of the soul so that its owner becomes balanced and the soul is no longer alien to itself and becomes the master of its actions and reaches moral perfection Although Ibn Sina was influenced by the philosophy of Plato and Aristotle in this aspect, his views are mostly taken from the Islamic religion because he is a Muslim philosopher

  • Effect of aqueous extract of Artemisia herba-alba on functional sperm
           parameters of male rats

    • Authors: Abdulkarem A Ilfergane, Galal A. S. Bojwari, Abdusslam M. Elmogasapi
      Pages: 140 - 156
Abstract: Artemisia species have a high economic value in several fields, as food plants and as antihelminthic and antimalarial in medicine Many of the species of Artemisia have found their way into folklore medicine. In Libya, the genus Artemisia is represented by seven species namely A. arborescens L, A. campestris L, A. glutinosa, A. herba-alba, A. judaica, A. monosperma and A. variabilis. This study, for the first time, documented the effects of an aqueous extraction of Artemisia Herba-Alba in the rat investigating male reproductive functions. From the results obtained, it is evident that the herbal extract in the ―low dose‖ (10mg/kg) had a beneficial effect on all parameters, with the exclusion of sperm morphology. In this regard, active compounds present in the plant might have caused an increased production of serum testosterone which resulted in the enhancement of sperm quality in the rat. Another explanation for the increase in sperm functionality might have been induced by the presence of components within the plant of Artemisia Herba-Alba causing the efficient removal of zinc from spermatozoa enabling them to reach optimal motility. It is also possible that these two explanations given above could have occurred simultaneously, thereby enhancing the positive effects observed within this study. This study indicated that the traditional use of this herbs has effects on male reproductive health

  • Electrical Properties Engineering of Sputtered Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide
           Semiconductor Thin Films

    • Authors: Khairi. M Abusabee, Salem. O. Elhamali, Khalid. M. Alajel, Ali. A. Tamtum
      Pages: 157 - 166
Abstract: The influence of deposition conditions and laser annealing on the electrical properties of indium gallium zinc oxide (IGZO) semiconducting thin films was investigated. 50 nm thick IGZO films were deposited by radio frequency (RF) magnetron sputtering at room temperature and subsequently laser annealed in ambient conditions to enhance the IGZO electrical properties. Excimer laser annealing (ELA) was conducted by Krypton fluoride (KrF) excimer laser (λ= 248 nm) with single pulse over a range of fluences up to 175 mJ/cm2. The electrical properties of IGZO films were studied by four point probe (4PP) and Hall Effect measurements. Results demonstrated that the applied deposition conditions control the IGZO films metallic composition, which is found to be directly linked to IGZO films electrical properties. The as-deposited IGZO films were highly resistive with sheet resistance > 5 MΩ/sq and therefore 4PP and Hall Effect measurements could not be performed on the as-deposited films. Upon ELA, however, the sheet resistance is noticeably reduced to about 500 ± 10 % Ω/sq. Also, IGZO films demonstrated Hall mobility of 14 cm2/Vs and electron density of 3×1019/cm3 subsequent to ELA at 100 mJ/cm2. The reported findings present ELA as an efficient technique to engineer the electrical properties of sputter-deposited IGZO films. Therefore, a combination of room temperature deposition, via RF magnetron sputtering, and laser annealing could be used as a fabrication route of IGZO films for active layers of transparent thin film transistors (TTFTs) and applicable to flexible electronics which require low substrate temperature

           in Libya.

    • Authors: mohamed AH milad
      Pages: 167 - 183
Abstract: Forecasting future values of economic variables is one of the most critical tasks for governments, especially the values related to customs revenue collection are to be forecasted efficiently as the need for planning is great in this sector, because it is considered one of the sources of funding for the state's public treasury. The main objective of this research is to identify an appropriate statistical model for time series forecasting customs revenue collection during the current COVID-19 pandemic in Libya. The decision throughout this research is mainly concerned with ARIMA model, and Simple, Brown’s linear trend, exponential smoothing methods. The obtained data covers 108 observations, starting from the first week of the 6th month of the year 2019 to the last week of the 8th month of the year 2021.Based on the forecasting results of the current research, it was revealed that ARIMA (0,1,1) model offered more probabilistic information that improves forecasting the volume of customs revenue collection in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. According to this model, the research forecasts the new period in the next eight weeks or two months and finds that it will be increasing. In this research, ARIMA model and exponential smoothing methods are linear models based on the reactions to customs revenue collection due to the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the world. Furthermore, the forecasting performance between linear and nonlinear models can be compared in future studies

  • Physical Resurrection: Opponents and Proponents among Muslim Philosophers
(Al-Kindi and Avicenna) as a Model

    • Authors: Fathi Abd-El-Rahman Mohmmad Attia El-Houfy
      Pages: 742 - 766
Abstract: This paper aims to elaborate on the concept of physical resurrection for Muslims, and stress the importance its knowledge. The research also provides a general insight into the views of Muslim schools on both physical and spiritual resurrection, followed by a detailed exposition of Al-Kindi’s view and evidence as a proponent of physical resurrection. On the other hand, Avicenna’s argument against physical resurrection will examined. The research adopts the comparative analytical approach. As a result, it is concluded that Al-Kindi used both the Shari’ texts and reason. In that way, he established the Qur’anic facts with deep understanding; while solidly proving physical resurrection and firmly refuting the misconceptions of its opponents in a highly philosophical manner. The research also addressed the Muslim philosophers’ denial of physical resurrection, mainly Avicenna, while handling the hermeneutical interpretation of the Qur’anic verses on this topic. In fact, such approach adopted by philosophers furthered the disagreement among scholastists and philosophers; thus, kindling the flame of reciprocate accusation of blasphemy. In this regard, this paper highlighted the perils brought by such accusation against those holding variant views stressing that such an attitude must be stopped and confined only to specialized scholars.

Abstract: The prolactin hormone (PRL) has a distinct activity among the rest of the hormones, so this study conducted to measure the level of this hormone and its relationship with Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Luteinizing Hormone (LH). The study performed on a group of 30 women with a wide age range in the city of Tocra (east of Benghazi) to find out the percentage of PRL hormone and the extent of its effect on the FSH And LH hormones, as well as on fertility in these women. The results showed that 24 samples of the total samples, with a rate of 80%, had a normal concentration of PRL hormone, and 6 samples of the total samples, and by 20%, suffered an increase in the concentration of the PRL hormone. The concentration of FSH and LH was measured for the same samples for which the PRL hormone was measured, and the statistical analysis using the T test at significant values (P <0.05) showed that prolactin has a clear significant effect on the luteinizing hormone, while it has a slight effect of a non-significant value on the FSH. . Likewise, for average ages with FSH, LH, and PRL, there were strong significant differences between all hormones and age. This study concluded that the high PRL hormone might be a cause of delayed childbearing through its effect on the FSH hormones

  • The Influence of Temperature and Soaking time on the Microstructure and
Mechanical Properties of annealed AISI 1045 Steel

    • Authors: Abdulmula M. Mahaya, Mohamed M. Milad, Mohamed M. Salem
      Pages: 77 - 90
Abstract: In this present work AISI 1045 medium carbon steel was subjected to different conventional heat treatments mainly a full annealing, normalizing and hardening. The annealing processes were first carried out at annealing temperatures 850,900 and 950°C for one-hour soaking time. Later the periods of annealing were changed from five minutes up to two hours all of which at 850°C austentization temperature. In addition, normalizing and hardening processes were performed at an intermediate austenitization temperature of (850°C) and the soaking time mainly one hour. Therefore, the main objective of the current study is to investigate the effect of both annealing temperatures and soaking times on the microstructure, macrohardness and impact toughness of 0.45%C. Meanwhile, the results of 0.0.45%C steel annealed at 850°C for one hour were compared to that of normalized and hardened steels. It was concluded that, the change in the macrohardness and absorbed energy of 0.0.45%C annealed steel was mainly attributed to the morphology, grain size and the amount of formed austenite through its influence in defining the final microstructure of the products at room temperature. In contrast, the proportion of ferrite and pearlite micro-constituents in the structure of normalized steel was found to have a predominant role in such behavior whereas the macrostructure of hardened steel reveals almost martensite phase that made this steel possess the maximum hardness and the lowest impact toughness among all tested samples.

Abstract: Background: Extracellular Matrix (ECM) modifications have been reported in the Central Nervous System (CNS) of multiple sclerosis (MS) within post mortem brain tissue due to both the increased synthesis of ECM proteoglycans, and release activation of matrix metalloproteinase (MMPs). Multiple sclerosis (MS) is chronic inflammatory demyelinating disease written off as inflammation and demyelination disease, mainly located in central nervous system (CNS) white matter (WM). This study aims to clarify the potential pathophysiologic role of adisintegrin And metalloproteinase with thromboSpondin motif-9 (ADAMTS-9) in MS. Materials and methods: Immunohistochemistry was performed to study the expression of ADAMTS-9 in both normal and MS white matter by confocal microscopic using specific antibodies. Fifty frozen blocks of brain tissue were obtained from the UK MS Society Tissue. All tissues blocks were marked by immunohistological material including antibodies to Human leukocyte antigen (HLA-DR) to assess the macrophage activation, Glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) for astrocyte, neurofilaments (NF) for neurons and Von Willbrand factor (VWF) for endothelial. Results: In MS lesions, ADMTS-9 expression was increased in comparison to control samples. The expression of ADAMTS-9 was increased in active lesions as well as was associated with different cells from neuron, endothelial covering blood vessels astrocyte and microglia. Conclusion: The expression of ADAMTS-9 at the protein level was increased in active inflammatory lesions with evidence of myelin breakdown, suggesting that up-regulation of ADAMTS-9 may be a general phenomenon induced by CNS injuries

Abstract: This study has considered contracting via the video which is performed remotely in which the acceptance is made over the Internet interactively and directly via using an audio and video means. This generates a question about its definition and the extent of permissibility of introducing the will via the video, the mechanism of performing the contact as well as its evidence in verifying the conduct'. This study has aimed to identify the lawful system that governs this contracting with regards to the mechanism and evidence of verification. It has also aimed to finding legislative solutions and drawing the attention of the legislators and researchers in this field. In order to fulfill these aims, the descriptive and analytical methodologies were followed via extrapolating and analyzing the texts of law and reflecting the applicability of applying these general rules contained in these texts on such a kind of contracts. The study has found several results, most important of which is that this contracting is performed immediately and fashionably between the two parties. This renders the nature of contracting between them is a contracting between attendees in principle such as the contracting by the telephone. In addition, this has a role to play in our lives particularly in the light I’d spread of Corona virus. Due to the lack of legislative texts that control these outputs, it has been found that it is necessary to consider the general rules until a certain legislation is issued and this what we have recommended.

Therefore, it shows the sayings of the ancient jurists in the rule of blood that women see during menstrual cycle disorders in general, and shows the three controls they relied upon in the provision. The first was the period of the longest menstruation and the less asepsis, the second was the habit, and the last was the distinguishing between menstruation and others. Then it presents the sayings of the contemporary jurists in the rule of blood that women see when using modern contraceptive in particular. It shows the great similarity between the contemporary jurists and the ancients because the judgment revolves around its reason not its cause. Finally it shows the opinion of medicine about the disorders caused by contraception, which is that contraceptives do not prevent menstruation, and may cause the occurrence of menstruation, so the research concludes at the end of it, that the origin in the blood that a woman sees in these disorders is that she has menstrual blood if its characteristics are achieved, otherwise it is not menstrual blood

Abstract: The research aims to identify the unacceptable languages of the Arabs - letter replacement as a model. To achieve this, the descriptive approach was used. One of the most important findings is that Arab dialects for the tribe have been subjected to fading by Arab scholars, as a result of a plan to unify these dialects into one language, at all levels. This includes phonological, morphological, syntactic, and semantic levels. These tribes, therefore, have abandoned their language and followed the language of the Holy Quran, which is credited with the unification of these dialects by speaking and writing. So these dialects have been divided into accents, and islam unified the language but neglected the letters that will not consolidate the language in general

Abstract: Fiber-reinforced composites (FRCs) are a relatively new group of materials among those that have been investigated in dental or medical applications over the last 40 years. Their use is growing in many dental applications, including dental implant-supported prostheses. With recent advancements in adhesive technology, new and stronger composite materials, and the development of bondable polyethylene fiber, then it is possible to create a conservative, highly esthetic prosthesis that is bonded directly to the teeth on either side of the missing teeth. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effect of the amount variation of polyethylene fiber on the flexural strength of the reinforced composite. Eight samples of polyethylene fiber-reinforced composites (FRCs), which were divided into 2 groups: Group I, which includes 4 specimens of 1 strip polyethylene fiber, and Group II, which includes 4 specimens of 2 strips of polyethylene fiber. Also, each specimen was subjected to a 3-point bend test of flexural strength on a universal testing machine at a crosshead speed of 1 mm/minute, with loading until failure. The results were analyzed by T-Test. The results show that there were significant differences according to the amount which show discloses the P-value (0.001), which less than 0.05 (P<0.05). Thus, that leads to there is significant differences in the level of samples among polyethylene fiber 1 strip (1S) and polyethylene fibers 2 strips (2S). It can be concluded that there is an effect of amount variations of polyethylene fiber-reinforced composite on the flexural strength

Abstract: This research investigates the legal liability resulting from harming others through transmitting the corona pandemic to them . The study aims to clarify the conditions needed for determining the responsibility holder for transmitting the virus to others, which are represented in its three pillars, namely error, damage and causal relationship between error and damage. Whoever harms others is obligated to compensate them for his wrong act. Accordingly, the methodology in this study adopted a combination of descriptive and analytical method. It is concluded that both the vector of corona virus infection of the contributor of its transmission are responsible for any harm that may cause to others. In accordance with the provisions of tort liability in Libyan civil law. As a result, the harmed party has the right to take compensation and the same situation does not change if the person’s entry is legal through the official outlets and does not subject himself to the medical examination measures imposed by the state, and there is no doubt that the state has a contribution to the spread of this virus within its borders and therefore it is possible to establish its negligence. • THE JUSTIFICATION WITH NOUNS IN ARABIC BETWEEN THE STRUCTURE AND THE
           CONNOTATION

    • Authors: Ibtesam Abdulkarim Ramadan Amer
      Pages: 104 - 155
Abstract: The research aims to examine how the Arabic language employs nouns for reasoning, revealing the semantic secrets behind the compositional diversity of that formulas and applying that to the Quranic text. The analytical and interpretation approach for those syntactic and semantic rules was used to achieve the article goals. The findings revealed that the nouns used for reasoning either be an explicit source, an authoritative source, or some other nouns such as the demonstrative nouns, derivatives, some adverbs, and the nouns that accompany the addition. Justification by using explicit source "Mansoob" on causation is the origin. Besides, what the grammarians have said that the original justification is using" لام التعليل" and then be accusative on its omission is not accurate because it is not based on linguistic documents prove their opinion. Most likely, the description by the accusative infinitive is not employed except when it expresses the meaning of abstract justification without any other semantics. In addition, the study found that there are authoritative sources that refer to reasoning (justification) without mentioning it clearly which are (كي) and the verb after it, أنْ، والفعل), (أنَّ، واسمها وخبرها)), (ما، والفعل) and there are two interpretations for أنْ والفعل according to what it comes after it which means (اللام) for the general reason if it what comes after it is a past verb, and means (لئلا) if what comes after it is a present verb.

Besides, the research aims to establish the methodology of Qur'anic readings with the help of language books, interpretation, and guidance. The analytical approach was used to achieve the research goals. The findings revealed that the multiplicity of Qur’anic readings in a single verse replaces the multiplicity of the words of the Noble Qur’an, and this is a part of the Miracle of God's Words Lord of the Worlds that is unique to the noble verses. Although there are many differences in Quranic readings, they do not lead to contradiction but rather to diversity, and this means that the Quran is miraculous in every single reading. Hence, the multiplicity of miracles in the multiplicity of those readings and letters, and the two frequent readings may be indicative of two meanings to the same term. The difference in the two readings may lead to a statement of a ruling by a reading and a statement of another ruling that is complemented by another reading so that, the rulings are benefited in the shortest expression, and this is a type of miraculous brevity which is not found in the words of people but in the words of Allah (SWT).
