Authors:Turgut AK Abstract: In this study, Galerkin finite element method is applied togeneralized Benjamin-Bona-Mahony-Burgers (gBBM-B) equation. Quadratic B-splinefunctions are used as interpolation function. Stability analysis isinvestigated based on von Neumann theory. The performance of the proposedmethod is checked by two test problems with zero boundary conditions. As aresult, it is observed that applied method is successful and efficient to showmotions of some waves. PubDate: Fri, 28 Dec 2018 00:00:00 +030
Authors:Kadri ARSLAN; Yılmaz AYDIN, Eray DEMİRBAŞ, Aziz YAZLA Abstract: Inthe present study we consider Euclidean curves with incompressible canonicalvector fields. We investigate such curves in terms of their curvaturefunctions. Recently, B.Y. Chen gave classification of plane curves withincompressible canonical vector fields. For higher dimensional case we gave acomplete classification of Euclidean space curves with incompressible canonicalvector fields. Further we obtain some results of the Euclidean curves with incompressiblecanonical vector fields in -dimensional Euclidean space E4. PubDate: Fri, 28 Dec 2018 00:00:00 +030
Authors:Harun KAYA Abstract: In this study, ruthenium oxide(RuO2) was grown on CladosporiumCladosporioides hyphal using a chemical precipitation method. Themorphological characteristics of the material obtained by chemicalprecipitation method were determined by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM); itssurface area by Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) equipment and its electrochemicalproperties, such as charging–discharging, cyclic voltammetry (CV) andelectrochemical impedance characteristics, using a Gamry 3000 potentiostatsystem. Authors:Seda BALKAN Abstract: The purpose of this research was to evaluation the effects on antioxidant defense system of chondroitin-4-sulphate (C4S) in high glucose treated human erythrocytes. 10-20 ml venous blood samples from ten healthy volunteers ages 20-40, nonsmoker, were accumulated in ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) vials for the preparation of red blood cell (RBC) suspensions. Blood for in vitro treatments was divided into six groups. The activities of superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px), acetylcholinesterase (AChE), the levels of glutathione (GSH) and malondialdehyde (MDA) were calculated to determine the effects on antioxidant defense system in all groups. As a result of the statistical evaluations, the significant increases (p<0.001) in GSH-Px and AChE enzyme activities were observed in the groups in which C4S applied compared to the groups in which glucose alone applied. At the same time, significant decrease (p<0.001) in MDA levels was obtained in the groups in which C4S applied compared to the groups in which glucose alone applied. These acquired findings have shown that in the erythrocytes to which high amount of glucose has been treated; C4S may have a positive impact upon antioxidant defense systems. As the results of this study, C4S can be said to be benefited as an antioxidant. PubDate: Fri, 28 Dec 2018 00:00:00 +030
Authors:Fatma ÖZEN ERDOĞAN; Abdurrahman DAYIOĞLU Abstract: In this paper, we introduced a new method to relatetwo areas, graph theory and projective geometry that have a long history and very deep theories. We investigated the combinatorial properties of the graphswhich are obtained from finite projective planes by using this new method. Also, we examined the relationsbetween these combinatorial properties and the order of the projective plane. PubDate: Fri, 28 Dec 2018 00:00:00 +030
Authors:Aysel ALKAN UÇKUN Abstract: GölbaşıLake, which forms the most important wetland between the Mediterranean Regionand the Southeastern Anatolia Region, is a natural lake and protected as anatural park. Excessive grazing causes damage to the vegetation around thevillages and makes the area vulnerable to erosion. Increased agriculturalproduction in the region has also brought pollution problems. Measures must betaken for the sustainability of water and sediment quality of this lake whichis from our natural wetlands. For this purpose, in this study, water quality ofGölbaşı Lake and heavy metal rezidues in water and sediment were evaluated. Water and sedimentsampling were carried out in two periods, dry (August 2017) and wet (November2017). Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate and biological oxygen requirementvalues of water quality parameters were examined. Residue quantities of heavymetals such as Pb, Cu, Zn, As, Cr and Cd have been evaluated in lake water. Inthe lake sediment, 12 types of metal (Pb, Cu, Zn, As, Cr, Cd, Ni, Se, Co, Fe,Al and Mn) were analyzed. Gölbaşı Lake was found to be in the first classaccording to the classifications of the water quality, physicochemicalparameters and elements of Continental Water Surface Water Resources. Ingeneral, sediment metal remains are in the order of Fe˃Al˃Mn˃Ni˃Cr˃Zn˃Cu˃Pb˃Co˃As˃Se˃Cd. The metal concentrationsin the sediment of the lake are below the limit of sediment quality guidelinesdetermined by USEPA. Nevertheless,in order to ensure the sustainability of the water and sediment quality ofGölbaşı Lake, which is one of our natural wetlands, it is necessary to removethe pollutants that may be a source around the lake or to take precautionsabout it. Authors:Özge ERKEN; Cebrail GÜMÜŞ Abstract: SnO2 (tindioxide) thin film was deposited on commercialglass substrate by spray pyrolysis technique at 420oC. TheXRD analyses indicated that the SnO2 thin film is found totetragonal rutile structure. Optical transmission values (T %) of the film are the range of 80-96 % in the visible region andits highly transparent. The absorption coefficients (α)were defined from transmission spectrum. Refractive indices(n) and film thickness (t) were determined from interferences of the opticaltransmission curve with envelope method. The refractive indices (n) were altered between 1.83-1.97 in theultraviolet-visible-near-infrared (UV-VIS-NIR) regions. The thickness (t) and optical energy gap (Eg) of the SnO2thin film were found to be 1.22 μmand 3.98 eV, respectively. PubDate: Fri, 28 Dec 2018 00:00:00 +030
