  • The Addition of Beetroot (Beta Vulgaris L.) to Dawet Ayu Sappan Wood
(Caesalpinia Sappan L.) as a Functional Drink Containing Anthocyanins

    • Authors: Tri Marta Fadhilah, Aulia Nurfadillah Utami, Amaliafani Puspitadewi, Aniadita Mutia Ermawan, Aracely Puspita Dariani
      Pages: 51 - 61
Abstract: Dawet Ayu is a traditional drink made from rice flour, coconut milk, and brown sugar. Natural colors derived from suji plants are often used. We can make Dawet ayu into a functional drink with anthocyanin content using natural colors such as sappan wood and beetroot. We can use the benefit of this research as a reference that sappan wood and beetroot contain anthocyanin which acts as an antioxidant that is beneficial for health. We conducted the study to analyze the characteristics, acceptability, and anthocyanin levels of sappan wood dawet ayu with the addition of beetroot. The research design used was descriptive, experimental research that compared three groups with the addition of beetroot (50 g, 100 g, and 150 g). The research design used was a randomized block design. The results of statistical tests using the Friedman test showed that there were significant differences in the indicators of color, aroma, texture, and taste. The hedonic test obtained the highest public acceptance of sample P1 (50 grams of beetroot) with a taste score of 3.30 (like very much), color was 3.77 (like very much), the aroma was 3.58 (like very much), and texture was 3.48 (really like it), with the sample P3 (150 gr beetroot) of 23.14 mg/100g as the highest anthocyanin content. Sappan wood Dawet Ayu products with the addition of beetroot are acceptable in the community. The more addition of beetroot and sappan wood in the dawet ayu product, the higher the anthocyanin content.

  • Online Discussion with Virtual Classroom Method as Supporting Lecturer
           Digital Aircraft Simulator

    • Authors: Nurcahyani Dewi Retnowati, Astika Ayuningtyas, Awandha Prabowo, Asih Pujiastuti
      Pages: 62 - 66
Abstract: E-Learning is a system or educational concept that uses information technology in teaching and learning to use electronic media—usually used for teaching and learning processes within an unlimited distance. In the learning process of the Digital Aircraft Simulator course using e-learning, some obstacles are difficult to understand, and there is no discussion facility in the material section. Based on this, e-learning with the virtual classroom method is expected to overcome these problems so that the learning process can run well and effectively. In the online discussion feature with the virtual classroom method, there are two methods: synchronous and asynchronous. Based on the test using a white box to 13 paths for three days obtained a success rate of 100%. While the black box test obtained a success rate of 100% for the faculty and 100% for the student side, accessed using a laptop device with Windows 7 and 8 operating systems. While accessed using the Android smartphone, Kitkat, Lollipop, and Oreo obtained a success rate of 80% for the lecturer and 60% for the student. Then the test results with the Guttman scale obtained a success rate close to the percentage of 92%. The online discussion feature in the virtual classroom can facilitate communication between the lecturer, and students can also directly ask the lecturer through this feature when there is lecturer material and explanations that are not understood

  • Cotesia rubecula Feeding Strategy as a Biocontrol Parasitoid: A Review

    • Authors: Maiyusri Eka Putri, Ramadhan Sumarmin, Dwi Hilda Putri
      Pages: 67 - 72
Abstract: Indonesian citizens rely on the agricultural sector to meet their daily needs because Indonesia is an agricultural country. Agricultural land, which is planted with monoculture crops, is a good condition for the development of pests, especially insect pests. To eradicate insect pests, farmers often choose insecticides that have a negative impact on the farmers themselves, on the environment, and on insects that are not parasitic to plants. Therefore, pest control with natural enemies needs to be done in order to preserve the environment and reduce the use of insecticides. Parasitoid organisms have great potential as biocontrol, one of which is Cotesia rubecula, which can be used as a biocontrol for the cabbage pest Pieris rapae. The feeding strategy of Cotesia rubecula can be used as a biocontrol agent for environmentally sound pest control. Besides that, Cotesia rubecula also helps pollinate cabbage plants.

  • Understanding the Theory of Force with Islamic Philosophy

    • Authors: Sylvina Tebriani, Huriyatul Akmal, Sisilia Marseila Tasman
      Pages: 73 - 78
Abstract: Understanding science, especially physics, can not only be done with theory and formulation. It should relate the physics theory studied to everyday events. In addition, strengthening the characteristics of learning in madrasas can be done with an approach to religion (Qur'an science). The dichotomy occurring between science and religion makes them look like not interconnected. In fact, the Qur'an is the source of all sources of knowledge. The study of the integration between religion and physics presents a direction that can break the deadlock of physics problems. It is hoped to form an integration between religion and physics, which gives two understandings at once when learning. Examining the force and its relation to Newton's second law, also means examining the mass and acceleration. These quantities have a reciprocal relationship that can be peeled down in terms of religion and its relation to life. Mass can be analogous to the inertia (willingness) of a person to change his state, which is later also influenced by the quantity of the action (force) that a person will perform, and the determinant of the acceleration of his life (with a change in circumstances). Learning about force (F) will be closely related to acceleration and mass. A person with an enormous mass (m>>) will be more inert, because of which the acceleration he has will be smaller (a<<)

  • Evaluation Study of Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) IND-1000 Pump Model
with Analysis of the Flow Rate of Crude Oil in Production Well

    • Authors: Isnani Agriandita, Abdul Kamid, Reza Luthfi Atha Wijaya
      Pages: 103 - 111
Abstract: ESP is an artificial lift with the principle of a centrifugal pump, where the production fluid that enters through the intake will be thrown by the impeller into the diffuser which will then be directed to the impeller above it so that this process repeats until the production fluid reaches the surface. The longer the production well is produced, the smaller or weakened the Pwf pressure will be, therefore an evaluation is needed in order to produce optimal production. The data needed include: well production rate (Qo), well flow pressure (Pwf), Pump Intake Pressure (PIP), Total Dynamic Head (TDH), Pump type, namely IND-1000 pump, Number of stages, Type of motor, HP motor, motor voltage, Electric current, OD motor, Total voltage, and Total starting voltage. The evaluation methodology used is to determine the optimum production rate through IPR calculations using the vogel method, Pump Intake Pressure (PIP), Total Dynamic Head (TDH), number of stages, and horse power (HHP). From the results of this evaluation, the optimal production rate (Qopt) value was obtained, which was 988.552 BPD. This optimal production rate value is still included in the capacity range, which is between 600-1260 BFPD. Because the optimal production rate is still within the range capacity, this production well does not require a new pump replacement.
