Authors:Nur Fadhillah Muhlis Abstract: Based on the facts in the field, students' scientific literacy skills in Indonesia are below the PISA average. Scientific literacy skills can be improved by conducting learning that refers to culture. The purpose of this study was to develop student worksheets based on ethnoscience to improve the scientific literacy of class VII students of SMP Negeri 6 Sengkang. This development research was carried out based on the 4D model which was designed to be 3D consisting of 3 stages, namely define, design, and develop. The data were obtained through the validation method by two expert lecturers and analyzed in a quantitative descriptive manner. The results showed that the validation of student worksheets was in the very valid category with a percentage of 85%. Based on these results, student worksheets based on ethnoscience are appropriate to use as teaching learning media to improve students' scientific literacy skills. Authors:Din Oloan Sihotang, Ermina Waruwu, Abdi Guna Sitepu, Ramses Antonius Situngkir Abstract: The main issue in the process of Catholic Religious Education (PAK) learning at St. Antonius Bangun Mulia Catholic School in Medan is the suboptimal achievement of student learning outcomes. This is caused by the frequent use of lectures and assignments by PAK teachers. The dominance of such methods leads to boredom and disinterest among students in participating in the learning process. Another issue is the lack of creativity among PAK teachers in finding and implementing alternative teaching methods that can motivate students to engage in PAK learning. In response to these situations, the AMOS method can be used as an alternative method for PAK learning with the aim of improving student learning outcomes. The research subjects in this study were 22 fourth-grade students. The data for this research were obtained from observing the activities of the students and conducting final tests in each cycle. The research data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results of the study show that the application of the AMOS method can improve student learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle, the percentage of students who completed their learning was 18.18%, while those who did not complete it were 81.82%. In cycle 1, 94.46% of students completed their learning, while 5.54% did not. In cycle 2, 100% of students completed their learning. Based on these research findings, it can be concluded that the use of the AMOS method can improve the learning achievement of fourth-grade students at St. Antonius Bangun Mulia Catholic Elementary School in Medan PubDate: 2023-08-10 Issue No:Vol. 12, No. 2 (2023)
Authors:Luhur Pujo Santoso, Atip Nurwahyunani, Maria Ulfah Abstract: LKPD practicum is a learning tool containing work steps that can be used as a guideline for students to rejuvenate in carrying out practicum activities. This research aims to develop LKPD practicum based on Project Based Learning (PjBL). This type of research is development research. The preparation of practicum LKPD uses the ADDIE model, but in this study only focuses on the ADD (Analysis, Design, and Development) stage. The LKPD design that has been prepared before being tested is measured for quality through validation activities by material experts and media experts. The validation activity aims to obtain input in the form of criticism, suggestions, and responses from validators on the quality of the LKPD that has been prepared, so that they can find out the conformity of the LKPD with predetermined standards. Validation was carried out by 2 material experts and 2 media experts, in this case lecturers from the Biology Education study program at PGRI Semarang University. The final average score of validation results by material experts was 92.36% and media experts was 90.33%. This value is included in the very valid category, so that the LKPD that has been prepared is suitable for use in class X Biology learning on Environmental Pollution material. Authors:Makripatun Amanah Abstract: This research is a preliminary study used to develop an e-media of integrated ethno-STEAM pollution material to improve students’ scientific literacy. Science learning, in its application, is used to study an individual with natural surroundings. Science learning uses a scientific approach to solve problems in the surrounding environment, assisted by scientific literacy in education. Understanding is obtained through learning media used to make it easier for students to understand the material given. Identification of problems and media needs is carried out to find solutions in the development of STEAM integrated pollution material e-media. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires and interview instruments, which were held from October-November 2020. Respondents were science teachers and 64 students. The results showed that 1) the students understood the electronic media used by the teacher in learning. However, students have not maximized media use to understand pollution material and relate it to local potential in the surrounding environment; 2) teachers have never developed STEAM integrated e-media. Teachers do not understand the application of ethno-STEAM in learning, both examples, and applications in the surrounding environment; 3) the teacher uses textbooks as a learning resource in delivering material to students; 4) the lack of students’ knowledge about scientific literacy has an impact on the low level of students’ scientific literacy.
