Authors:Gordon Burr, François Dansereau Pages: 15 - 15 Abstract: This article documents the McGill University's efforts to track and commemorate the University's participation in three wars in the 20th century by analyzing the documentation created including archival records, publications, and monuments culminating with the building of the Memorial Hall in 1947. Most of these archival records were created by McGill's War Records Office in World War II. The goal of this office was to capture the records of McGil's achivements during the war. The creation of the McGill War Records website in 2012 clearly demonstrated a renewed community interest in commemoration. This led to a generous donation that brought together in one database access to the scattered records in the McGill War Records fonds. PubDate: 2017-08-08 Issue No:Vol. 14 (2017)
