  • Recent Issues and Problems in Bangladesh-India Relations: A Bangladeshi
           Perspective

    • Authors: Md. Ershadul Huq
      Pages: 407 - 407
Abstract: The relationship between India and Bangladesh has been steadily growing in recent years, particularly after Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took office in January 2009. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the relationship as a "golden period" in 2019. Indeed, Bangladesh is crucial to India's "Neighborhood First" and "Act East" policies and has played a critical role in sustaining peace and security in the country's Northeast region. Yet, despite their mutual goodwill, there is some pessimism regarding the relationship's future. This article examines the historical evolution of India-Bangladesh relations, the diverse perspectives on the relationship (Economic, Defense, Strategic), Bangladesh's significance to India, and the issues that threaten to cloud India-Bangladesh ties.

  • The Effect of Using the Flipped Learning Strategy on Developing Reading

    • Authors: Bedour Alshati, Ahmad Al-Khawaldeh
      Pages: 423 - 423
Abstract: This study investigated the effect of using flipped learning strategy in developing reading comprehension skill in English language among 4th grade primary students in the Kuwaiti capital schools. To achieve the study’s objective, the researcher used the quasi-experimental approach, which depends on the selection of an experimental and a control group. To calculate the effect, a post-achievement test was applied to the members of the two groups, and the study sample was intentionally selected, and so consisted of (50) male and female students from the basic stage. The data were analyzed statistically, and the results revealed that there were statistically significant differences in the average achievement of the experimental group on the post application. To test these differences, the analysis of covariance was applied. Based on the obtained results, the researcher recommended applying flipped learning strategy in teaching English and related subjects in primary schools in the State of Kuwait and also holding training courses for English language teachers to design lessons that align with the flipped learning strategy.

  • Analyse Genre-Sensible des Connaissances des Agriculteurs de l’Assurance
Agricole en Zone Vulnérable aux Changements Climatiques

    • Authors: M. Agossadou, J. Yabi
      Pages: 450 - 450
Raising awareness of agricultural insurance among as many farmers as possible, particularly in areas vulnerable to climate change, remains a major challenge for the public authorities, as it is the first step towards the adoption of this agricultural risk management instrument. The aim of the study was to analyse farmers' knowledge of agricultural insurance in the commune of Dassa-Zoumé. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from 318 randomly selected households in ten (10) districts. A multiple linear regression model was estimated using R software to identify the determinants of knowledge. The results showed that most households (70.76%) had little knowledge of insurance (score < 30). Only 4.72% had good knowledge (score >50). Households producing for commercial purposes (61.32%) were more familiar with agricultural insurance than those producing for subsistence. The majority of households surveyed were aware of agricultural insurance as a tool to help manage agricultural risks. The study revealed that the level of knowledge was significantly influenced by previous subscription to agricultural insurance, household size (P<0.001) and type of farmer (P<0.005). These results underline that targeted awareness raising and training are important strategies to improve farmers' knowledge of agricultural insurance and hope for its adoption.
