Abstract: This research paper presents a comprehensive and in-depth comparative study investigating girls' enrolment in open schools in Rajasthan, India, while also considering its implications on a global scale. The main aim is to meticulously analyse the intricate factors influencing girls' enrolment, discern the challenges they encounter, and devise effective strategies to ensure equal access to education for all. To achieve this, the study adopts a mixed-method approach, combining qualitative and quantitative data from diverse sources, resulting in a well-rounded and robust analysis of the issue at hand. Through this study, we gain valuable insights into the existing disparities in girls' enrolment in open schools, shedding light on critical aspects such as completion rates and the socio- economic factors influencing participation. Our examination delves into factors like poverty, early marriage, and cultural attitudes, which impede girls' enrolment in open schools in Rajasthan, thus hindering their educational progress. However, we do not limit our investigation to just one region; rather, we extend our analysis to encompass the global scenario, incorporating research from organizations such as the Commonwealth of Learning (COL) and the United Nations Girls' Education Initiative (UNGEI). This broader perspective allows us to understand the common challenges faced by girls in open schools worldwide, transcending geographic boundaries and cultural contexts. By bringing together qualitative and quantitative data from reputable academic databases, we ensure the accuracy and credibility of our findings. The inclusion of recent studies published between 2015 and 2021 ensures that our research encapsulates the most up-to-date information available, allowing for a nuanced understanding of the current state of girls' enrolment in open schools. Ultimately, this research aims to contribute to the development of inclusive and gender-responsive educational policies and practices. By identifying successful strategies and practices, we aspire to bridge the existing gaps in girls' enrolment, promoting equal access to education and empowering girls to pursue their educational aspirations. Our study seeks to play a pivotal role in the advancement of sustainable development and gender equality, fostering an environment where every girl has the opportunity to thrive and contribute positively to society.

Abstract: Sleep deprivation is common among post- menopausal women which show multiple effects on social, physical and psychological health. The sleep deprivation and its effects are observed in both working women and homemakers. Insomnia is prevalent in premenopausal, menopausal and post-menopausal women. When insomnia and sleep deprivation becomes chronic, it leads to serious health problems like obstructive sleep apnea. Insomnia and obstructive sleep apnea result in daytime sleepiness, attention lapses, fatigue, headaches, hypertension. Post-menopausal women suffer from low self-esteem and are often in highly stressed state of mind, due to physical changes in body like weight gain, dark circles around eyes and hair fall, this in turn has an adverse effect on the quality of their life. Partial sleep deprivation further results in disturbance in the circadian rhythm. Sleep deprivation results in several long term health problems like heart disease, diabetes, malfunctioning of the thyroid gland, stroke, depression, etc. A study by Young et.al on middle aged women showed that severe obstructive sleep apnea was more widespread in postmenopausal women. Sleep deprivation also affects the mental well-being and social behavior of post-menopausal women. In this context, it becomes imperative to create an awareness among post-menopausal women about the necessity of getting good sleep at night to enhance the quality of life and also to improve their health after menopause. This study evaluates and analyses the psychosocial and physical influence caused by sleep deprivation. An attempt is made for a prospective contextual, descriptive research design and study. A convenient sample of post- menopausal women was randomly approached via a questionnaire. Data was analyzed and tabulated.

  • Nature in Romantic Poetry: “Tintern Abbey” by Wordsworth

Authors: Mahmood Suleimany, Mohammad Salem Hamidi
      Pages: 7 - 12
Abstract: The poetry of the English Romantic period contains many descriptions and ideas of nature”. (Sofi 81) but before discussing the notion of nature in Romantic poetry, it is a good idea to take a look at poetry in previous ages such as New Classicism. Poetry in New Classicism was looked as a mirror. This heritage came to them from Plato. Plato believed that art is like mirror. He said Art is lie and deception. After him Aristotle, his student, said Art is not lie and deception. Both of them emphasized on that art is a mirror which reflects the nature. Nature from a new classical point of view nature is mechanic. Like a watch set by god. Some people believed that God had deserted the world, he set it to work and now we are not sure where he is and what he is doing. But when Romantic Poets nature was considered as a living entity, particularly in poet’s feelings. “Perhaps no poet and no poem epitomize Romanticism’s mystical view of nature more than William Wordsworth and his poem ‘Tintern Abbey’,” (Saylor) There is a mutual relationship between poet’s mind and the nature the result of which is art. Generally one of the wishes of poets during the era after New Classicism, Romanticism, is to use art in order to dominate nature and it was one of the wishes of poets such as Francis Bacon.

  • STUDY OF OLD AGE GROUP ABOVE 65 YEARS (CASE STUDY)

      Authors: Pranjal Anand Rajmane
      Pages: 30 - 40
Abstract: Old age, often defined as the age of retirement, typically set at 65 and above in most developed countries, represents a critical phase in an individual's life. Successful aging goes beyond mere longevity, focusing on holistic well-being across social, physical, and mental dimensions. Three key components define successful aging: proactive disease prevention, active engagement with life, and maintaining high levels of physical and cognitive function. World Elders Day, observed on October 1st annually, reminds us of the invaluable contributions of the elderly and their significance in our societies. Advancements in healthcare technology have increased life expectancy, expanding the elderly population globally. However, understanding old age involves biological, demographic, employment, retirement, and sociological perspectives. Aging brings about various physiological, psychological, and immunological changes that profoundly impact nutritional status. Nutrition plays a crucial role in preserving overall health and well-being throughout life. A balanced diet rich in essential nutrients - carbohydrates, fats, proteins, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and water - provides energy, aids weight management, and guards against diseases like osteoporosis, hypertension, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers. As people age, their nutritional needs change. Caloric requirements typically decrease while the need for specific nutrients, particularly protein, may increase. Elderly individuals face unique challenges, including difficulties with cooking, limited purchasing power, and psychosocial factors that can affect their nutritional well-being. Reduced physical activity and oral health problems can further compound these issues, necessitating adaptive dietary interventions tailored to the demands of aging. A concerning global trend is the rising prevalence of diabetes, especially among the elderly. Unhealthy lifestyle choices like suboptimal diets, sedentary habits, and obesity are contributing factors. Managing diabetes in old age is complex due to additional health challenges like polypharmacy, chronic pain, falls, dementia, incontinence, and depression. This project delves into the aging process, evolving nutritional needs, dietary adaptations, mental and physical aspects of aging, and the use of medications and supplements among the elderly. It includes a detailed case study of an older diabetic patient, covering medical history, routine evaluations, dietary adjustments, the role of nutritionists, and guidelines for effective diabetes management in old age. A deep understanding of these factors is vital for enhancing the quality of life for the elderly.
