  • Max Planck: His Story of Winning the Nobel Prize in Physics

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

      Authors: Hardev Singh Virk
Abstract: The Nobel Prize is the most coveted and one of the best-known academic honors in the world. During 19th century, Germany, France, and UK were leaders in science and most of the Nobel Prizes were shared amongst their scientists. Max Planck is acknowledged as the Father of Quantum Physics. He got 74 nominations, including one from Albert Einstein, for Nobel Prize between 1907 and 1918 before he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1919. The story reveals that getting nominated is not so difficult but there are many hurdles to be crossed for achieving the award. Max Planck discovered a new definition of the Second Law of thermodynamics which became the basis of his famous law of black body radiation. His ideas influenced the development of Theoretical Physics in Germany and later in the whole world. Keywords: Max Planck, Radiation, Quanta, Planck Constant, Nobel Prize

  • A CONTEXTUAL STUDY ON EMERGING TRENDS IN BLENDED LEARNING

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

      Authors: Jipsy Malhotra, Pankhuri Sharma
      Pages: 1 - 7
Abstract: Blended learning became one of the most well-liked pedagogical ideas, Since blended learning took off, a growing number of studies have discussed it. Traditional face-to-face learning could not be combined with remote learning environments due to a lack of technology. Yet in the last ten years, new
technological advancements have filled the gap between traditional face-to-face learning and distributed learning settings. A learning system based on cutting-edge technology with blended learnin as a potential consequence. The appeal of the blended learning strategy is the inclusion of technology- assisted learning techniques to the currently used traditional learning methods. The incorporation of technology significantly improves the entire experience of teaching and learning by addressing drawbacks of the conventional method. Also Blended learning frequently combines conventional classroom and online learning activities, such as guest lecturers, multimedia presentations, dreaming up, testimonials, demonstrations, small-group discussions, project-based learning, knowledge building, instructional programs, virtual world, and many other classroom teaching methods that can enhance students' learning. In addition to using more conventional teaching methods, blended learning methods provide students and teachers the chance to get used to the technologically enhanced learning environment. The present study aims to identify the emerging trends in blended learning . The study's primary goal is to explore and evaluate the newest trends in blended learning. According to previous studies, distributed learning environments will have a major influence on blended learning in the future.

  • Manifestation of Moral, Ethical and Human Values in Contemporary Society
through selected Fables from Jataka Tales.

Authors: Jatin Nama, Hiya Gurbani, Anuj Modi, Krati Sharma, Harshit Verma
      Pages: 14 - 18
Abstract: All around the world, Jataka Tales have cherished our Moral Values, Ethics and Human Values for a long time. They have been an indispensable source of teaching the way of living life in the society of those times. “This line is referring to the fact that the tales being described recount the previous lifetimes of Lord Buddha, during which he was progressing towards achieving enlightenment and becoming a Buddha. In other words, the stories are about the various stages of his spiritual journey leading up to his ultimate attainment of Buddhahood.” Jataka Tales are a core part of Buddhist literature articulated by Lord Buddha. They are preached by Buddhist monks to imbibe these values in people. A person may live a meaningful life by following the path led by these stories for inculcating the theme of peace of mind and happy life. The further analysis and implementation of these morals and ethics in modern times and their importance will be discussed in this research. (Along with its proliferation). In the present paper selected three stories have been taken for the discussion: 1. “The Noble Monkey”; 2.“The Clever she Goat”; 3.“ This sentence describes the story of a conceited woman who, as a result of her vanity and negative karma, was reborn in her next life as a lowly dung-worm. In other words, the woman's pride and self-importance led to a negative consequence in the form of her reincarnation as an insignificant and unpleasant creature.”. These stories are conveying the powerful feelings of friendship, loyalty, honesty, wit, affection, salvation, rebirth, hard work, and skills. All these stories are much needed for the Contemporary Society in which these values are depreciating each day.

  • Root Causes of Degrading Human Values and Their Solutions

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

Authors: Krati Sharma, Sahaj Jain, Rhythm Verma, Gargi Sharma, Sneha Meghnani
      Pages: 19 - 26
Abstract: Values are the beliefs, principles, and standards that guide a person's thoughts and actions. They act as a moral compass, guiding people in making choices that are consistent with their values and principles. Highly competitive lifestyle of people these days has changed multiple scenarios of living; people have chosen a careless and less respectful way in an instant. There is increasing peer pressure amongst kids these days; they get influenced by friends who are involved in unnecessary things to seem cool. Pupils don’t take their studies seriously. Their priority is not getting knowledge but passing the assignments. The education system is playing a major role in leading pupils towards great mental distress; not only that but the modern lifestyle of kids these days has increased many noticeable issues—suicide is one of them. If we specifically talk about women, they’ve been stripped of certain basic rights and facing irrelevantly high competition amongst men in becoming their equals. The present research paper tried to clarify the causes of how and why human values are steadily declining over time. Our fundamental morals are missing in many aspects despite our diversity and wealth in culture and
      traditions.

  • Sociological Implication of Insecurity on Women Participation in Food
Production in Three Selected Communities in Gwoza LGA of Borno State

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

Authors: Iyanda Kamoru Ahmed, Zangina Aishatu Mohammed, Nuyong Anuhu
      Pages: 27 - 40
Abstract: In Nigeria, women are an important part of the production, processing, and use of the nation's food resources and as a result, they play an important part in the agricultural productivity of the nation. Not only has the persistent state of insecurity posed a threat to the very fabric of national integration in the
country and created an environment of fear, disquiet, and anxiety, but it has also dealt a lethal blow to the educational, industrial, and socioeconomic development of the country, including agricultural production. The present issue has put the lives of women, in particular, as well as agricultural operations of the region, in jeopardy. The present study, therefore focus on insecurity in the three
selected communities in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State and its impacts on women participation in food production. The research was carried out utilizing a survey-based cross-sectional approach within the community. The respondents were chosen using a multistage sampling process. Inside each of the communities that were chosen, a method of systematic sampling was used to choose 15 families. Then within each of those family homes, a respondent (a woman) aged 25 years or older was purposefully selected for the research. There were a total of 45 people chosen to participate in the present study. Result of the interviews (qualitative data) was transcribed and network analysis was
plotted with the aid of Atlas.ti software version 9 using thematic coding to analyse the impact of insecurity on women participation in food production. The present study revealed that there was generally high incidence of insecurity in Gwoza LGA. The extent of participation by women on food production was therefore, very low as measured against the experience of the past before the
insurgency. The present study, therefore concluded that threats to lives and properties has crippled the motivation of women to engage in activities that can enhance the economic development of the society and their well-being. In order to forestall food insecurity (hunger, starvation)

  • History and Historiography of Colonial Rule in Yorubaland: 1894-1960

    • Free pre-print version: Loading...

Authors: Iyanda Kamoru Ahmed, Adjah Ekwang Adjah
      Pages: 13 - 19
Abstract: This paper discusses the colonial rule in Yorubaland from 1894 to 1960. General Concept in this context means penetration of Colonial Rule into Yorubaland through the treaties and imposition of colonial administration over the paramount chiefs to govern Yorubaland effectively. In 1894 the British began to establish their authority in Yorubaland. However, this was preceded by a period of Christian missionary activities which paved way for the subsequent control of British Colonial Officers. The process of British influence and expansion in Yoruba land owed much to the Christian Missions. The objective of this work is to study the history of Yorubaland from 1894 to 1960 AD. The work is to give adequate attention to the area within the historical framework. Scholars had written on the urbanization of some towns and cities in various parts of the world but no scholar has ever attempted to examine the colonial rule in Yorubaland from 1894 AD. A multi-disciplinary approach had been used in writing this thesis. Oral information was extensively used in cross checking written data. I had the privilege of knowing and interviewing knowledgeable persons within Yorubaland. Similarly, this work is the first of its type at this level written by an indigene and this represents indigene‘s perception of history of Yorubaland. Both oral sources and archival materials are used in the within of this thesis. In the course of this research, I have consulted numerous books, none of which clearly deals with colonial rule in Yorubaland from 1894 to 1960 AD. The literature that deals with the history of Yorubaland neglected her urbanization. Other works that centered on Yorubaland mostly concentrated on her pre-colonial history and presented very little information on colonial rule in Yorubaland from 1894 to 1960 A.D.
