Authors:Theophilus Adjirackor, Frederic Sam, Irene Opoku-Ntim, David Okoh Kpeglo, Prince K. Gyeye, Frank K. Quashie Abstract: The level of knowledge and awareness of naturally occurring radioactive materials and indoor radon among underground goldmine workers were measured using a well-structured closed ended five-point likert scale questionnaire using a one sample T test for the analysis. There was a significant relationship between the awareness and knowledge of NORM and radon gas among the underground workers apart from the awareness and knowledge of the increased risk of cancer due to exposure of radon for workers who smoke. The level of awareness and knowledge is positively correlated with the level of education of respondents and negatively correlated to the years of service and age of respondents, but the ANOVA table indicates a statistical significance between the demographic data and the awareness and knowledge of radon gas and NORM in their working environment with an adjusted R2 of 46.1%. Authors:Bolu John Folayan, Olubunmi Ajibade, Toyin Segun Onayinka, Amira Obi-Okoye Abstract: This study aimed to discover and suggest feasible steps towards integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into news gathering in Nigeria. Traditionally, news gathering starts from the Newsroom, goes through several processes before it gets to the reader in print or on air. This entire process has been radically transformed by modern technology. In contemporary news management, the involvement of humans in the news management process is being increasingly reduced and in many cases, replaced with machines. In the present study, the researchers investigated the preparedness of print and online media editors in Nigeria to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) in news management. The ground tour questions in the research were: To what extent are editors prepared for use of AI in news management; and what is the major challenge that Nigerian editors face in integrating AI in their news management process' The Diffusion of Innovation ( DOI ) theory provided theoretical undermining for the study. Editors of leading online and print newspaper editors selected from Lagos, the media hub of Nigeria, were interviewed after completing a structured questionnaire. Results show most of the editors are not adequately prepared for the challenges of infusing AI into their Newsroom management. Keywords: Attitude, Artificial Intelligence, Editors, News management. Authors:AKINTELU; Sunday Olufemi Abstract: In the advent of processing indigenous rice production, there is need to encourage local technology. This study simply provides an insight into the intertwining capabilities. Mainly, a snowballing primary data technique was used to gather data across the thirty-five licensed rice processing firms in the four geopolitical zones of country using structured questionnaire. Data gathered was then analysed using the descriptive statistics- mean. The results showed that on a Likert rating scale of 5, acquisition capability and production capability were rated above average while creative, supportive and adaptive capabilities were rated low. This indicates that the firms have sufficient capability in the area of acquisition of resources and conversion of technologies while the capability to provide training and improvement of technologies is low. The study concluded that rice processing operations in Nigeria could be enhanced if all technological capabilities are adequately developed. Authors:U.O. UGWUOGU Abstract: Knowledge and the competence to share it in the digital age have become potent tools for the attainment of competitive advantage and sustainable development in organizations and institutions of learning. This awareness has necessitated the need to embark on a study with the main objective of determining how digital competence variables influence the knowledge sharing behaviour of librarians in college libraries in the South–East and South–South of Nigeria. The research was supported by the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Survey research method was used to investigate a sample of 264 librarians. A validated and structured questionnaire with a correlation coefficient of 0.92 was used to collect data for the research through the census method. A response rate of 82% (217) was received and analysed. Findings reveal that librarians in college libraries possess the ability to use and manipulate a broad range of digital devices like smart phones, tablets, lap/desk tops; have a working knowledge of the World Wide Web (www); use social media platforms to maintain workplace collaboration; and use popular library application software packages. The study concludes that librarians in the institutions studied have shown significant skills in the use of ICT in their knowledge sharing behaviour and therefore should be sustained. The research recommends amongst others regular ICT training, workshops and conferences to enhance the knowledge sharing behaviour of the librarians and the creation of digital platforms and infrastructure for knowledge creation and sharing for professional and institutional ranking and visibility.
