Abstract: CONCLUSIONS: CAN is associated with reduced BMD and increased fracture risk in patients with T2DM, and LF/HF may have the potential to be a predictor of diabetic osteoporosis and have some clinical value in early diagnosis of diabetic osteoporosis and non-traumatic fractures in T2DM.

Abstract: CONCLUSION: TPOAb and not TSH are associated with the development of OH in individuals with serum TSH below 10 mU/L, and follow-up at regular intervals is recommended in TPOAb-positive individuals with TSH between 5 and 10 mU/L.

Abstract: CONCLUSION: High BMI variability is associated with increased risk of all-cause, non-CVD, and non-cancer mortality, although protective for the CVD event. Appropriate strategies for body weight maintenance after weight loss could be adopted to avoid weight variability, particularly in non-obese subjects.

      Authors: M Mariani, D Fintini, G Cirillo, S Palumbo, E M Del Giudice, S Bocchini, M Manco, M Cappa, A Grandone
Abstract: CONCLUSIONS: The typical genetic defect of PWS should lead to unmeasurable levels of the MKRN3 protein due to the inactivation of the paternal allele. Measurable circulating MKRN3 could suggest the possible involvement of tissue-specific imprinting mechanisms and other regulatory factors in gene expression. Correlations with HOMA-IR index, HbA1c, and FSH suggest peripheral actions of MKRN3, but future studies are warranted to investigate this topic.

Abstract: CONCLUSION: This systematic review of the literature reports the prevalence of CAH, DSD, and TARTs in patients with PORD. The unknown prevalence of POR gene pathogenetic variants and the paucity of studies investigating fertility do not allow us to establish whether PORD is associated with infertility. Further studies on both women and men are needed to clarify this relationship.

Abstract: CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that STA activates AMPK/HO-1 signaling, resulting in reduced inflammation and ER stress, thereby improving skeletal muscle insulin resistance. Using STA as a natural ingredient, this research successfully treated insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.

Abstract: CONCLUSIONS: VitD would defend the body by SARS-COV2 both by regulating the host immune defense and by up-regulating of the expression of the ACE-2 receptor. The existence of a co-operation between VitD and IFN-γ demonstrated in other systems is supported also for ACE-2 up-regulation. These observations lead to an increased interest for the potential therapeutic benefits of VitD supplementation in COVID-19.
