- Increasing Efficiency of Inventory Management: A Case Study of Air
Conditioner Manufacturers
Authors: Noparat Ratchinda, Thitima Wonginta
Pages: 34 - 49
Abstract: The objectives of this research were to study the appropriate forecasting methods for the prediction of air conditioner demand and to study the inventory control policy for the management of air conditioner inventory. It is found that the customer forecasting order is based on the staff’s experience and determines the policy to control the electronics raw material causing too much or too little of raw material inventory. This research has studied the appropriate forecasting method of air conditioner demand by applying the Minitab program using the time series method. Then, the product value and uncertain demand condition are also applied to prioritize the electronics raw materials to select the important group of raw materials to formulate inventory management policies. The result shows that the Winters’ method is the most suitable method for air conditioner demand forecasting due to the lowest forecasting error. As a result of raw material inventory prioritization, there are 20 items of the most important raw materials. The researcher then analyses Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Safety Stock (SS), and Reorder point (ROP) from the raw material demand obtained from the forecasting by Winters’ method in 2020. Comparing the total cost incurred from this research with the current inventory management of the air conditioner manufacturer found that the total cost can be reduced by 308,669.22 Baht or 43.90 percent.

- Criminal Liability for Sexual Relationship between Secondary Educators and
Students
Authors: Phimprang Punyasmita
Pages: 113 - 129
Abstract: According to the Thai Criminal Code, the sexual act between an educator and student at public or private secondary or vocational educational institutions is a criminal offense and legally liable only if the student is under the age of 15, regardless of their consent, or if the act amounts to sexual assault. Furthermore, the laws protecting students under the age of 18 have several flaws: They are incomprehensive, thus failing to protect the child from all cases of sexual misconduct, and the penalty is disproportionate to the severity of the offense. It is also a compoundable offense under such provisions. A recent study shows that the problem of sexual misconduct of this nature in Thai educational institutions usually occurs in a teacher-student sexual relationship. In some cases, educators use grooming techniques to build trust with vulnerable targets and manipulate them into consensual sex acts, thus making the case fall outside of the criteria of sexual assault according to the Criminal Code and resulting in students over age 15 being unprotected under the existing provisions. Taking into account (1) the relationship between educator and students; (2) the educator’s position of trust; (3) the criminality of the act; (4) the effects on the student and the education system as a whole; and (5) the criminalization of sexual act by an educator with the student over the age of consent in other countries which deems the common notion of sexual freedom inapplicable; the author proposes that Thai legislation adds criminal provisions which specifically deals with the case of educator sexual misconduct with secondary school students.

The statistical analysis used were percentage, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and content analysis. The results of the study showed that the problems of Functional Competency Teachers in Sahabumrung Wittaya School as a whole were at a moderate level. The developed model composed of four factors were: P-Plan, A–Act, C–Coaching, and E–Evaluating. This model was called “PACE Model”. The four activities in the experiment were teacher meetings participating, establishing an activity action plan, supervision, and evaluation of the activities, performance report summary, and propose a point that should be developed. The effects of the implemented model showed at a high level of efficiency (mean=4.04, SD=0.58), effectiveness (mean=4.41, SD=0.55), value (mean=4.36, SD=0.57), and satisfaction (mean=4.24, SD=0.50). Most significantly, based on the findings of this research, it was suggested that in implementing the said model, there should be a manual for functional competency teachers to be distributed in the school and to be extended to other schools.

Authors: Songyot Keawvijit, Pairoj Raothanachonkun
Pages: 404 - 417
Abstract: The purpose of this research study was to study the method of arranging production orders to solve problems in case of incomplete deliveries. It is a guideline for organizing the production system to be able to fully meet the needs of customers. Able to adjust production plans in situations that fluctuate from both internal and external factors. It is a study of the cause of the problem using sales data, production information, and product information from the company case study. To be analyzed, compiled, and understood the sequence of working processes and production processes by using Flow chart diagrams to write an overview of the process to apply a fishbone chart to find the cause of the problem, causal factors, corrective measures, manage conditional requirements and how to arrange production orders using mathematical models linear equations (Linear programming). Apply the analysis results to develop computer and information systems. The results of the research by processing from the company production data, and case studies from January to May 2021. It was found that the number of production orders in the system was reduced at a rate of 28%, the number of times to set up the machine was reduced at the rate of 18%, and the total production run time was reduced by 49.5 hours. From the information obtained, the total time spent on production resources in machinery and manpower is reduced. Increasing the production of products in the bill of materials (% Scrap) compensates for the number of products that are not fully produced according to the sales order. The production information display system (WIP tracking report) helps to show the production status, recognize the production status, and adjust the production plan at any time, reducing the chances that the product will not be delivered to the customers.
