  • Dekonstruksi dalam Novel Ranah 3 Warna Karya Ahmad Fuadi

      Abstract: This study aims to find other meanings for the novel Ranah 3 Warna. Researchers use deconstruction theory to uncover and see the other side of the character Alif who is described as a character who is persistent, tough and unyielding. This research uses literature study method to collect and provide data to be analyzed. The data source in this research is the text of the novel Ranah 3 Warna by Ahmad Fuadi, first printed in January 2011 by PT Gramedia Jakarta. The data was collected by using the method of reading repeatedly carefully against the manuscripts that were the object of the research. The data analysis used in this research is descriptive analysis technique by describing the data which is then followed by the analysis. Based on the text analysis and other meanings carried out on the novel Ranah 3 Warna, it is revealed the figures of people who have had a big influence in Alif's life. Among them, Kyai Rais, Ayah, Bang Togar and Randai. Other analysis results reveal that Alif is easily offended, is less grateful and forgets the services of his little friend Randai who has sacrificed a lot for his survival overseas. In addition, Alif also has a character that does not accept reality and is ambitious in achieving what he wants.

  • Perempuan Karir di Bawah Bayang-Bayang Kekerasan dalam Rumah Tangga di
           Kabupaten Badung: Suatu Analisis Gender

      Abstract: Berbagai upaya telah dilakukan untuk menanggulangi masalah kekerasan dalam rumah tangga (KDRT). Tetapi kenyataannya kasus KDRT masih tetap tinggi. Di Bali sepanjang tahun 2017 saja ditemukan 142 kasus dan 90 persennya adalah kasus KDRT. Sedangkan di Kabupaten Badung,  dalam periode Januari hingga Juni tahun 2017 saja tercatat 14 kasus KDRT yang dilaporkan. Sementara pada tahun lalu (2018) ada 25 kasus yang dilaporkan (http://www.balipost.com/news/2017/07/31/16588/Di-Badung,Belasan-Kasus-KDRT...html). Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) mengetahui bentuk-bentuk kekerasan dalam keluarga (KDRT) yang ada di Kabupaten Badung, 2) mengetahui hal-hal yang melatari terjadinya tindak kekerasan dalam keluarga (KDRT) yang ada di Kabupaten Badung, dan 3) mengetahui strategi penanggulangan kekerasan dalam keluarga (KDRT) yang ada di Kabupaten Badung. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi dan wawancara. Analaisis data menggunakan análisis diskriptif interpretatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kekerasan dalam Rumah Tangga dapat dilihat dari berbagai bentuk kekerasan yang mencakup: kekerasan fisik, kekerasan psikologis, kekerasan seksual dan kekerasan ekonomi. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi terjadinya kekerasan meliputi: ketidakmandirian ekonomi dari istri yang tidak bekerja dan kemandirian ekonomi istri dari istri yang bekerja, perselingkuhan, pemahaman yang salah terhadap mitos dan ajaran agama tentang perempuan, dan suami yang temperamental. Upaya perlindungan dan penanggulangan terhadap tindak kekerasan dapat bersifat:  represif (penindakan) adalah dengan hukum pidana melalui peradilan maupun di luar hukum pidana, seperti: memfasilitasi upaya damai bagi korban dan pelaku, memberikan pendampingan pada korban dalam penyelesaian perkara, membantu memberikan tempat yang aman bagi korban yang merasa terancam, membantu mengembalikan rasa percaya diri pada korban, melakukan upaya pembebasan dari kasus kekerasan yang dialami korban, melakukan perlindungan dari ancaman yang diterima korban. Secara preventif dapat dilakukan melalui bentuk-bentuk: sosialisasi, penyebaran brosur, pemasangan billboard.

  • Educational Values in Kakawin Brahmânda Purâna

      Abstract: Kakawin Brahmândha Purâna or Kakawin Pretu Wijaya is a kakawin which contains the story of a very cruel king named King Wena. His government was featured by cruelties. The advices given by his ancestors and the priests were always neglected. He defied every religious teaching introduced to him. When the priests advised him, he challenged them instead of listening to them. As a result, a war took place between the priests and king Wena. When the priests were pressured, they hit his arm, causing it be pregnant and a son named Pretu was born. Therefore, his full name was P'tuWijaya, who was then crowned the king. The story was continued with the names of highly beautiful mounts, lakes and places located in the territory of Baratawarsa The study was intended to spread the educational values which the kakawin contains which can be used as guidance by the young generation. Apart from that, the study was also intended to document the story. The theory used in the current study is the theory of literary deconstruction developed by J. Darrida. The research method used included data collection, data analysis and the descriptive presentation of the result of data analysis. The educational values which were found in Kakawin Brahmana Purana are as follows: the educational value of morality, the religious educational value, and the educational value of unity and oneness. It was composed in the era of the reign of I Dewa Agung Istri Kania, who governed the Klungkung kingdom. The fact which showed this was that the queen, Sri Prakerti Wiryya, who was old, is mentioned in the kakawin.

  • Koperasi Simpan Pinjam Bali Artha Guna dalam Bingkai Budaya Masyarakat
           Modern di Bali

      Abstract: The purpose of this study is to reveal several problems related to the application of modern management in the management of Savings and Loans Cooperatives (KSP), especially in the KSP Puskopdit Bali Artha Guna (BAG). Puskopdit Bali Artha Guna is a secondary KSP which until the end of 2018 has 20 primary cooperative members with 58,520 individual members spread across Bali. Cooperatives as a form of business entity engaged in the economy have a management structure that is somewhat different from other business entities. To achieve the goals of cooperatives, it is necessary to apply a good management system, namely implementing management functions. Some of the problems described in the discussion include 1) in what ways the development of modern management has been carried out at KSP Puskopdit Bali Artha Guna; 2) how is the implementation of modern management practices in cooperatives in facing today's business competition; 3) what benefits can be generated for the community, especially cooperative members in Bali. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with the method of collecting data through literature studies and in-depth interviews. In general, members of the Puskopdit Bali Artha Guna cooperative have digitized and implemented modern management in their operational systems to remain competitive in the millennial era who are familiar with technology, so that they are able to compete with other financial institutions.

  • Khazanah Leksikon Tradisi Penangkapan Ikan Paus dalam Novel Suara Samudra
           Karya Maria Matildis Banda: Kajian Ekolinguistik

      Abstract: This paper aims to find and analyze the forms and categories lexicon of the whale chathing tradition in the Suara Samudra novel by Maria Matildis Banda. To realize this, the library method and scrutinize method were applied in the data collection assisted with notes technical. And then, the data analyzed with qualitative description method and ecolinguistics theory. Then, the result showed with informal and formal method. The result showed that forms and categories lexicon of  the whale  chathing tradition in the Suara Samudra novel by Maria Matildis Banda writed with lexicon of Lamalera language. That the lexicon consist (1) biotic lexicon, like koteklema ‘whale’, lamafa ‘stab fisherman of whale’, and matros ‘paddle fisherman of boat’; and (2) abiotic lexicon, like peledang ‘boat’, kerakki ‘special chair of stab fisherman of whale in the boat’, and blettu ‘traditional hat from palm leaves’. The form of lexicon consist (1) singular form, like buri ‘trumpet from skin of shell’ and kela ‘place of ball of twine yarn’; (2) complex form, like lama uri ‘special fisherman for drive boat’ and tena laja ‘sailing boat’. The cathegory of lexicon consist noun and noun phrase.

  • Noun Form of Address of Characters in the 21 Jump Street Movie

      Abstract: This study is aimed to identify the types of noun form of address and describing the function of noun form of address applied in the movie. The data of this study was taken from a movie entitled 21 Jump Street as the primary data. The data was collected by documentation method and note taking technique. A qualitative method was used to analyze the data. It means the data was described based on theories applied in this study. The theory proposed by Braun was used to analyze the types of noun form of address. Whereas, the theory proposed by Brown and Gilman was used to analyze the function of noun form of address applied by characters in the movie. The results found five types of noun form of address, namely; names term (first name, last name and nickname), kinship term, title, occupational term, terms of endearment. This study does not find any data related to the abstract noun because this movie does not have any scenes which describe the abstract quality of the addressee, such as in the kingdom or court. Moreover, the function of noun form of address terms to show solidarity becomes the highest occurrences in the movie.

  • Analisis Teks Satua Pan Angklung Gadang: Kajian Amanat

      Abstract: This research is entitled “Amanat Teks Satua Pan Angklung Gadang: Suatu Pendekatan Moral”. This research has function to describe the structure and analyze the instruction appeared on the Teks Satua Pan Angklung Gadang. Data equipping stage used collect-method with record and translate techniques. Data analyze stage used qualitative method. In this stage, the research is supported also with analytical descriptive technique. The method which is used in presentation of data analyzed result is informal method which is supported by deductive and inductive techniques.The result of this research has been showing: there are six analyzed structure which is build Teks Satua Pan Angklung Gadang. They are incident, plot, characters, characterization, setting, theme, and the instruction was analyzed on the different sub-chapter. The plot of Teks Satua Pan Angklung Gadang consist of three plots and all of them are straight plot. Characterization of it describe by the main character from sociological, psychological, and physiological, aspects with setting of the place, time, and atmosphere, along with social criticism as the theme, the instruction which is contained in Teks Satua Pan Angklung Gadang are moral value of honestly, loyality, karmaphala, leadership, ingenuity, and responsibility.

      Abstract: This research discusses about Bali’s literature work purwa or traditional which shaped in satua with title “Satua Galuh Payuk text: Analysis of Sociology Literature”. The research purpose is to knowing the shaped structure and narrative structure also the social aspects which included in the satua itself. This research is using the theoretical structure and sociology approaching. Those theories used by combining some opinions from the literature experts. The method of this research on providing the data was through observation and heeding, on data analysis the researcher was used qualitative method. The method on providing the result of data analysis the researcher was used the informal method. For supporting all of the methods that have been used the researcher used some techniques which are: recording, transliteration translating, analytic descriptive, and deductive inductive. The results of this research is the shape structure and the narrative structure from “Satua Galuh Payuk Text”. The shape structure includes the language styles and diction and the narrative structure includes: incident, plots, background, figure and characterization, theme and mandate. Besides, this research was also analyzed the social aspects which become objects from the research which are naming, love aspect, civilization aspect, leadership aspect, religion aspect which consist of philosophical aspect, moral aspect and ceremony aspect.

  • Semiotics Approach on Verbal Signs in Would You Care More IF I Was A
           Panda'

      Abstract: This study is aimed at identifying the verbal signs with their mode and connotative meaning of an advertisement. The data of this study was a wildlife advertisement entitled Would You Care More IF I Was A Panda' (2011) created by Ogilvy and published by World Wild Life. The data were collected using documentation method with note-taking technique. The data were analyzed qualitatively using Peirce’s semiotic theory to identify the verbal signs with their mode and Leech meaning theory to analyze the connotative meaning of the sign. The result of this study shown that there were three verbal signs found in the advertisements that belong to symbolic signs in the form of the combination of alphabets. The verbal signs consist of representamen, interpretant, and object. The connotative meanings are expressed in words, phrases, or sentences with the interpretation based on knowledge, emotion, and imagination.

  • Lexical Hedges in Mamma Mia! Movie

      Abstract: The study is aimed to generally identify the types of lexical hedges used in the movie script and to determine the function of lexical hedges used. The data of this study were taken by using documentation method and note-taking technique from the movie Mamma Mia!, which firstly released in 2008. The movie is originally conducted by Phyllida Lloyd and also written by Catherine Johnson based on the 1999 musical of the same name, which is based on the songs of famous pop group ABBA. The data were analyzed descriptive qualitatively using Lakoff’s theory about women’s language features (1973). This study revealed that there were four examples of lexical hedges found in Mamma Mia! movie.

  • Realization of Assertive Acts by Nemo in Finding Nemo the Movie

      Abstract: This article is focused on the function of assertive act and the delivery strategies used by Nemo in Finding Nemo the movie. The data was collected by using documentation method and note taking technique. The collected data was analyzed by using descriptive qualitative method and was presented using informal method. The theories applied in this article were a theory of illocutionary act proposed by Searle (1976) to classify the functions of assertive act and a theory of delivery strategies proposed by Parker (1986). The result of the analysis showed that there were six functions of assertive act found in Finding Nemo the movie, those are affirming, predicting, claiming, agreeing, informing, and denying. However, there are only three strategies used by Nemo to deliver the messages of his utterances.

  • Gerakan Sosial (Wuat Wa’i) pada Masyarakat Desa Gurung Liwut

      Abstract: One of the traditions that is still preserved today in the village of Gurng Liwut is the wuat wa'i tradition. The procession of the Wuat Wa'i tradition emphasizes the participation of the local community. The preservation of the tradition of wuat wa'i is based on community behavior which upholds the value of solidarity and integrity towards an innovative society in advancing and prospering social life.  The formulation of the problems in this study include (1). How is the function of wa'i in the community of Gurung Liwut Village, Borong District, East Manggarai Regency' (2). What is the existence of the Wuat Wa'i tradition in the people of Gurung Liwut Village' This study aims to determine the function of the Wuat Wa'i tradition and explain the meaning of the Wuat Wa'i tradition for the people of Gurung Liwut Village. This research uses functional theory from Bronislaw Malinowski and Giving from Marcel Mauss. The method used is a qualitative research method. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and literature study. The analysis used is descriptive qualitative.  The results of this study reveal that in the tradition of wuat wa'i there is a relationship between moral values, economic improvement, and improvement in formal education. The implementation of the Wuat Wa'i tradition is a social movement that raises funds to finance formal education and increase capital for someone who goes abroad, both at home and abroad. There are various processes in carrying out the tradition of wuat wa'i, namely the deliberation of the event organizers, determining the good day, the completeness of the event material.  The conclusion of this research is that the tradition of wuat  wa'i is a clear proof of the motivation of the local community for the importance of learning through formal education and desires to improve the community's economy through experience gained in the land of thechain.

      Abstract: This study is entitled "Discrimination of Women in Pupulan Tatu Anak Luh Short Stories Feminsime Approach" by discussing three short stories namely Tatu Anak Luh short stories, Mejalan Tanpa Batis and Mepasung Ulian Warisan with the feminsime approach. Research on Pupil Tatu Anak Luh Short Story discusses the analysis of the structure and discrimination of women in the form of violence. This analysis aims to reveal the structure and violence contained in the short story of Tatu Anak Luh. This research uses structural theory and feminism theory. The methods and techniques used in this study were divided into three stages, namely: (1) methods and data collection techniques using the listening method assisted with translation and note-taking techniques. (2) data analysis methods and techniques using qualitative methods and analytic descriptive techniques. (3) methods and techniques for presenting the results of data analysis using informal methods assisted with deductive-inductive techniques. The results obtained from this study, namely the narrative structure consisting of incidents, plot, character and characterization, setting, theme, and mandate. In addition, this study also revealed female discrimination, in the form of verbal violence, physical violence and mental or psychological violence.

      Abstract: Bali is one of the islands that is very well known to foreign countries. Besides being famous for its natural beauty it is also known by the nickname of the Thousand Temples. It is known that the Balinese are usually inseparable from the sacred arts which are believed to complement the ceremony. Meanwhile in the village of Pengotan has a sacred dance that is the Baris Babuang dance. Baris Babuang is one element of universal culture that is part of the arts. Baris Babuang dance is danced by carrying banana fronds which can also be called the papah biu war. This research focuses on two things, namely the Babuang Baris Dance Function at the Pegingsiran Jro Pingit ceremony in Pengotan Village and the Meaning of the Babuang Baris Dance at the Pegingsiran Jro Pingit ceremony in Pengotan Village. The purpose and objective of this research is to find out the function and meaning of the implementation of the Babuang Baris Dance at the Jro Pingit ceremony. Then the authors use the Functional Theory of B. Malinowski and the ceremonial theory of William Robertson Smith to help strip the results of the research. This study uses qualitative methods to describe an event or phenomenon that occurs in a research subject such as behavior, perception, motivational action holistically and analyzed by collecting data that has previously been recorded besides audio visual recording, then recorded again in the recapitulation sheet then processed in the form of scientific writing. The results of this study state that, the function of Babuang Row Dance in relation to public trust, functions as a reinforcement of solidarity between citizens and the meaning of Babuang Row Dance to invoke safety, the meaning of kinship meaning the symbol of harmonization.

      Abstract: This study examines the Geguritan Rajapala, from Bali with the story of Jaka Tarub, from Central Java. The purpose of this study is to find out the structure and motives of anything that builds between the two literature work, and how is the relations between Geguritan Rajapala with the story of Jaka Tarub within Babad Tanah Jawi. In this study uses structural theory and a Finnish comporative literary approach. This research method and technique uses the listening method, assisted with written and translation technique. While the data analysis stage uses qualitative methods, namely research that is descriptive and tends to use analysis and assisted with historical comparative technique, that is a technique carried out with aim of reconstruction and tentative mapping of literary kinship patterns with evidence based on types and motives. next one, the stage of presenting the results of data anlysis using informal methods assisted with deductive inductive technique. As for the results that can be obtained from this research are, knowing the structure that builds between the Geguritan Rajapala with the story of Jaka Tarub and knowing the motives contained therein. Based on these motives, the literary patterns of kinship can be mapped.
