  • ETHNOBOTANICAL SURVEY OF MEDICAL PLANT USED FOR THE TREATMENT OF
           HYPERTENSION IN SUBULUSSALAM SUB-DISTRICT ACEH, INDONESIA

      Abstract: This research is intended to know the types of plants, parts, how to care and its use for hypertension disease drugs in the community in Rundeng of Subulussalam City. Data collection is done by interview and observation. Data analysis was done descriptively ie data in table form. The results of the study found 22 species of plants, consisting of 21 genus, 18 families as hypertension drugs used by the community in Rundeng of Subulussalam City. The use of plant parts that are used as hypertension drugs are all parts of plant organs, the leaves are the most widely used parts. The most dominant way to use it is by boiling it, in a blender and then drinking the water. The most dominant way to use plants for medicine is by drinking and eating as fresh vegetables.

  • IMPLEMENTATION OF 3D SOFTWARE TOWARDS REPRESENTATION MICROSCOPIC AND
           SPATIAL INTELLIGENCE OF PROSPECTIVE BIOLOGY TEACHERS

      Abstract: The aim of this research is to find out the differences in spatial intelligence and microscopic representation of prospective biology teachers in 3D software lectures on plant anatomy using Blender and 3DS Max applications. The research method used was quasi-experimental using the research design of The Matching Only Pretest-Posttest group design group. The population in this study is a prospective biology teacher in the department of biology education faculty of teaching and educational sciences in the academic year 2017/2018 at Siliwangi University who contracted the course of plant anatomy. Sampling is done by purposive sampling techniques as many as 2 classes by looking at the level of activeness in the same learning process. The results showed both classes showed a low spatial intelligence N-Gain category, as well as getting an average value of microscopic representation with a score of 3.7 for the use of 3Ds Max and 3.82 for Blender. The conclusion of this study is that there is no difference in spatial intelligence and microscopic representation of students, in addition students are still having difficulty for those who use max 3Ds software, because it requires a high enough computer specification, so the use of 3-dimensional blender application is more recommended used for aspiring biology teachers who want to make 3D forms of biological objects especially plant anatomy.

  • COMPOSITION OF ASCOLICHEN IN GAYO HIGHLAND

      Abstract: Ascolichen is group of lichen composed by ascomycetes (the mycobiont) and algae (the photobiont) species which play ecological and industrial roles. The campus area of Syiah Kuala University Gayo Lues is a part of the Gayo Highland which has specific environmental characteristics. The research aim was to determine the ascolichen species, the type of talus and the substrate characteristics. This study used a qualitative approach with research type was an exploratory survey. Data collection was carried out at 2 stations, namely Station I (campus area) and Station 2 (outside campus area). Data was analyzed descriptively. The results showed that there were 28 species of ascolichen found in the location which belong 3 classis, 6 orders, 15 families, and 25 genera. Moreover, the thallus types of lichen species were crustose (16 species), foliose (8 species), and fruticose (4 species). The types of lichen substrate were tree trunks (22 species), dead woods (9 species) and rocks (4 species). The acidity of the substrates ranges 4-6 (acidic).

  • THE VALIDITY OF HOTS ASSESSMENT INSTRUMENT ON CELL SUBJECT FOR STUDENT IN
           GRADE XI

      Abstract: Learning success is known through assessment. The 2013 Curriculum Assessment emphasizes assessments that train students to be able to Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). HOTS capabilities according to Bloom's taxonomy include the ability to analyze, evaluate, and create. The results of observations note that students' HOTS ability is still lacking and the availability of HOTS assessment instruments for cell material used as guidelines is not yet available. One way to train students' HOTS is to develop an instrument of higher order thinking skills on cell material. This research is a 4D model development research, which is define, design, development, and dissemination. The research subjects consisted of 2 lecturers majoring in Biology FMIPA UNP. The object is assessment instrument HOTS on cell material. The results showed that the assessment instrument had an average value of 89.23% validity with valid criteria. The assessment instruments were developed based on aspects of material, construction, language, and higher order thinking skills. To be conclude, assessment instrument has valid and can be used to measure and train HOTS students, especially cell material.

  • THE CHLOROPHYLL CONTENT IN VARIOUS GREEN VEGETABLES AS POTENTIAL FOOD
           SUPPLEMENT INGREDIENTS

      Abstract: Klorofil atau pigmen utama tumbuhan banyak dimanfaatkan manusia untuk membantu mengoptimalkan  fungsi metabolik, sistem imunitas, detoksifikasi, meredakan radang (Inflamotorik) dan menyeimbangkan sistem hormonal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan klorofil total dan karotenoid pada beberapa sayuran hijau sebagai alternatif bahan dasar food supplement. Penelitian ini dilakukan dilaboratorium pendidikan biologi Universitas Syiah Kuala dengan menggunakan metode observasi langsung yang mengukur nilai absorbansi klorofil dan karotenoid pada 5 jenis sayuran hijau, dengan teknik pengambilan sample purposive sampling. Sampel yang digunakan terlebih dahulu potong kecil dan ditimbang sebesar 0.03 mg kemudian diekstraksi dan dihitung nilai absorbansinya dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer dengan panjang gelombang 663 dan 664, diukur dengan 5 perlakuan dan 4 kali ulangan dengan pengenceran 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% dan 100 %. Sampel yang telah dilakukan pengenceran di ukur kandungan klorofil a,b dan total. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan klorofil paling tinggi terdapat pada sayuran sawi dan terendah terdapat pada daun papaya.

  • PARENT'S PERCEPTIONS OF THE HOME BASED SCIENCE LEARNING SYSTEM DURING
           THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

      Abstract: Sistem pembelajaran mengalami perubahan selama masa pandemi Covid-19. Pemerintah terpaksa merubah sistem pembelajaran tatap muka (Offline) menjadi sistem pembelajaran dalam jaringan (Online). Kebijakan ini dilakukan untuk mengurangi  penyebaran  Covid-19.  Sistem pembelajaran online,  mengharuskan orang tua untuk menggantikan peran guru dalam mengajarkan anaknya di rumah. Orang  tua  merasa  sistem  pembelajaran  online  merupakan  hal  yang  baru  dan belum pernah dilakukan sebelumnya. Sehingga, hal ini membuat orang tua merasa kesulitan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) persepsi orang tua terhadap sistem pembelajaran berbasis online di rumah pada masa pandemi covid-19, (2) apa saja kendala yang dihadapi orang tua selama proses pembelajaran online di rumah, (3) serta upaya apa yang dilakukan orang tua dalam mengatasi kendala   tersebut.   Penelitian   ini   menggunakan   metode   deskriptif   dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah orang tua dari siswa SD dan  MIN  yang  tinggal  di  Kecamatan  Meuraxa  Kota  Banda  Aceh.  Penarikan sampel  menggunakan  teknik  purposive sampling  dengan  jumlah  sampel  yang digunakan  sebanyak  20  orang tua.  Instrumen  penelitian  yang digunakan  pada penelitian  ini  adalah  lembar  angket  dan transkip  wawancara.  Hasil  penelitian menunjuk; (1) persepsi orang tua terhadap pembelajaran berbasis online  pada masa pandemi Covid-19 tidak dapat diterapkan secara efektif karena adanya kendala  yang dihadapi  oleh  orang tua, (2)  kendala  yang dihadapai  orang tua selama proses pembelajaran online di rumah pada saat pandemi Covid-19 adalah waktu luang yang minim, fasilitas yang tidak memadai (kuota internet, laptop, dan smartphone) dan juga kurangnya pemahaman materi yang diberikan, sedangkan (3) upaya dalam mengatasi kendala tersebut yaitu menyediakan waktu khusus, menyediakan fasilitas dan menghubungi guru untuk meminta penjelasan materi dan jadwal konsultasi.

  • THE HABITAT CHARACTERISTICS OF Anadara granosa IN THE MANGROVE ECOSYSTEM
           IN LANGSA CITY, ACEH

      Abstract: Wilayah pesisir Kota Langsa dihuni oleh tumbuhan mangrove yang merupakan karakteristik wilayah pesisir. Ekosistm mangrove Kota Langsa memiliki kekayaan flora dan fauna yang beranekaragam. Ekosistem mangrove ini terdapat berbagai potensi sumberdaya alam, di antaranya kerang, kepah, dan berbagai macam biota perairan. Penelitian ini dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik habitat Anadara granosa  yang sesuai di ekosistem mangrove Kota Langsa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode  survey. Pengambilan sampel dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lokasi kuala langsa memiliki karakteristik habitat yang bagus bagi kelangsungan hidup kerang darah (Anadara granosa) dibandingkan dengan lokasi alur dua. Hasil uji Anova Menunjukkan bahwa lokasi penelitian berpengaruh nyata terhadap Jumlah spesies dan salinitas air, namun tidak berbeda nyata terhadap pH Air. Jika dilihat dari kandungan HCL dan Amonium pada kedua lokasi pengambilan sampel dapat kita lihat bahwa kedua lokasi tidak memiliki perbedaan yang signifikan, namun terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap jumlah spesies kerang darah. Rendahnya jumlah spesies kerang darah yang terdapat dilokasi alur dua dikarnakan habitatnya sudah tercemar oleh kegiatan pembangunan jalan dan bangunan lainnya.

      Abstract: Rendahnya keterampilan berfikir kritis pada siswa disebabkan karena penggunaan metode atau model pembelajaran yang kurang konstruktivis. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskrispikan pengaruh project based learning terhadap ketrampilan berfikir kritis pada materi pencemaran lingkungan di MAN Model Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan rancangan quasi eksperimen melalui desain one shot case study. Adapun populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas X MAN Model Banda Aceh  dengan sampel yang diambil adalah siswa kelas X IPA 2. Pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik pemilihan sampel bertujuan (purposive sampling). Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan tes keterampilan berfikir kritis yang dilakukan pada akhir pembelajaran. Sedangkan untuk pengolahan data menggunakan statistic uji- t satu sampel (one sample t-test). Kata kunci: project based learning; ketrampilan berfikir kritis; pencemaran lingkungan.

  • COLLEMBOLA DIVERSITY IN FORMER TRADITIONAL GOLD MINING IN SAMPOINIET
           DISTRICT, ACEH JAYA REGENCY

      Abstract: Collembola functions as a bio-indicator of soil fertility, while maintaining the stability of nutrients and oxygen which are very beneficial for plants. However, the Collembola diversity in its habitat could be affected by mercury waste. This study aims to determine the diversity of Collembola species in the former mercury waste storage area of traditional gold mining in Ligan Village, Sampoiniet District, Aceh Jaya Regency. This research was conducted in June-July 2019 in 6 (six) locations in the former mercury waste storage area in Ligan Village, Sampoiniet District, Aceh Jaya Regency. The sampling was done by purposive sampling method using pitfall trap. Data were collected by comparing the morphological characteristics of Collembola by referring to Boror's (1996) identification book and analyzed with Diversity Index of Shannon Winner. There are 5 Collembola species found in the research location with Diversity Indek H '= 1.485323798 in the medium category. Mercury average levels found in the study site have exceeded the crisis concentration threshold with the value of 0.5111 mg/kg, which is assumed affecting the diversity of Collembola species in its habitat.

           STRENGTHENING ON ECOSYSTEM SUBJECT IN MTsN SABANG

      Abstract: Penelitian dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui penguatan karakter curiosity peserta didik dengan implementasi model discovery learningpada materi ekosistem telah dilaksanakan pada semester genap Tahun /2018 pada bulan April di MTsN Sabang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah mix methods. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas VII. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas VII4yang berjumlah 25 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan angket. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan rumus persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dimensi curiosity peserta didik berada pada kategori baik setelah implementasimodel discovery learning. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa model discovery learningdapat menguatkan karakter curiosity peserta didik pada materi ekosistemdi MTsN Sabang.
