      Abstract: . Records the history and culture of a region in the past stored in various forms of printed and recorded, partly managed by the library; some are still stored in various places, including West Java in the form of historical sites and culture. Form of work in question can be
      books, magazines, newspapers, maps, brochures, and the like, both in print and digital format. These works contain a benefit for knowledge and education. Meanwhile, the library as an institution in charge of managing printed and recorded works, including ancient works, continues to contribute in this work with storage for wider dissemination. This study examines the existence of public libraries and village libraries in West Java related to its role as referred to above. The method used is direct observation to the field. The result illustrates that public libraries and village libraries already participate to provide this type of collection for the benefit of the public on the current generation and the future.Keywords: Printed Materials, Paper records, Ancient manuscripts,Cultural Values, Public Library.

      Abstract: The research was conducted to the students of Al-Kausar Internat Junior high school as an example of school which has applied the concept of information literacy in one subject and Arrahman Junior high school as an example of school which has not applied the concept of information literacy yet. The aim of this research was to find out whether there is a significant differences between students' literacy ability in finishing task exercises from those school. The method used in this research was a descriptive comparative method to find out the differences between both of objects in this research. The data were collected through questionnaire, interviews, and library study. The respondents are 53 students selected through Proportionate stratified random sampling techniques. The findings show there is no significant differences between students of Alkautsar junior high school and Ar Rahman junior high school on their students' information literacy ability. However, from the output scores of mean view, Al Kautsar Junior high school has a larger score than Ar Rahman junior high school. Therefore, Alkautsar Junior high school students have a better information literacy ability compared to Ar Rahman Junior high school students.

      Abstract: . UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Library wants to keep abreast of information technology development that can improve library quality. Smartphone with android operating system nowadays is one of knowing information technology that developed rapidly. The advantages of smartphones using android operating system is the ability to run multiple applications simultaneously, ease of access, and has a relatively cheap price with a lot of functions. The UPN "Veteran" JakartaLibrary currently has limitations in providing a collection search facility due to the less roomy space, the cost of electricity, and also the ergonomics of the device. Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) or that can be known by
      online catalog is a useful facility for the user and library in providing the means. Development OPAC withandroid-basedis expected to provide solutions to problems that can help users and also UPN "Veteran" JakartaLibrary in providing excellent service. In this research article will be presented about the stages of OPAC with android-bases development in UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Library by using System Development Life Cyle (SDLC) method. From the result of the research, it is concluded that the
      development of OPAC with android-bases in UPN "Veteran" Jakarta Library has been able to provide ten parameters of OPAC third generation. With the android-based OPAC is expected to help the user in
      finding the collection with the limitations of the search facilities provided by UPN "Veteran" Jakarta as well as providing variations in searching collection at OPAC library UPN "Veteran" Jakarta.

The objectives of this research were to establish a standard of information literacy for Indonesian students and to design a webbased
      information literacy assessment system. This research employed Delphi technique with two rounds questionnaire distributed among panelists of 9 experts. The experts consists of three school librarians, two teachers and four information literacy researchers. Six standards and 40 performance indicators were identified as information literacy standard. The design of
      system resulted models which presented in System Flowchart, Data Flow Diagram and Entity-Relationship Diagram.

The success of a librarian as a communicator in delivering communication messages on service activities, counseling and technical guidance library, one of which is determined by the aspect of communicator or speaker (resource). One aspect of the communicator in conveying his communication message is the ability of how when delivering messages verbal communication or better known as paralinguistik. Parallelistic ability will be a speaker's attractiveness aspect (source atrrativeness) and this aspect will be the basis for building participants' perceptions of the credibility of a speaker. Therefore, the understanding of the paralinguisitik aspect becomes
      important for a counselor, including in this case the librarian when going to conduct extension activities and tennis guidance about the library.

      Abstract: Electronic journals have easy advantages in terms of access, compared with
      printed journals and other electronic books. An electronic journal appears first compared to a printed journal. Based on data in 2015 access to electronic journals is higher compared to printed journals and access to electronic books has increased from before. The purpose of this study to determine the paradigm, functionality and reasons students use electronic journals
      and electronic books. The approach used is qualitative with case study method expalanatoris. The findings obtained that there is a paradigm shift from manual to electronic. Students are more comfortable using electronic journals and electronic books. This implies the condition of UPT Unpad library that experienced a decrease in student visits.

The general issue being examined in this study was whether or not the special library has fulfilled the recreational
      function according to the user's need of information, along with the specific issues which covered the followings: 1) has the library of PT. Trisula Textile Industries implemented the recreationa function of the library'; 2) has the library of PT. Trisula Textile Industries fulfilled the information need of the PT Trisula Textile Industries' staff'. This research describes whether the library of PT. Trisula Textile Industries can be considered as fulfilling the recreational function of the library according to the user's need of information The population of this research was the staff of PT. Trisula Textile Industries, with the total of samples were 88 people which counted based on the Slovin formula. The sampling technique used was random sampling. The data collection was carried out by using the questionnaire which was based on Likert scale to gain certain answers. This research used a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The result of this study indicates that the library of PT Trisula Textile Industries has implemented the recreation function of the library in fulfilling the user's need of information.

This research is descriptive qualitative research which aims to get an analysis of learning needs LI material online that required student MAN Insan Cendekia Serpong. The
      number of samples in this study was 54 students. The data taken is analized based on the indicators of LI which refers to Information Literacy Competency Standard for Higher Education which is released by
      the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL), combined with School Library Manifest which is published by International Federation of Library Association of College & Research Libraries (IFLA/UNESCO). The results of the research indicated that respondents have good ability in terms of 1) determining the limits of information, accessing information needed effectively and efficiently, 2) combining selected information into one's knowledge base, 3) ability to understand economic issues,
      law, and social use of information and access it ethically and legally. The abilities which are needed to increase is in evaluating information and the sources, and ability to use information effectively to achieve the particular goals. Six tops materials which are selected by students in designing information literation based on web, are 1) orientation in library including collection items and loations, 2) the technique of index using, reference materials and bibliography, 3) Techinques in searching information, 4) Technique of Online catalogue use, 5) Ways to use reference sources which is matched the needs, 6) Technique of reference writing.

      Abstract: Abstrak. Buku yang menjadi koleksi perpustakaan merupakan aset, sehingga harus dijaga betul kondisinya agar tidak hilang ataupun rusak. Koleksi rusak diartikan sebagai menurunnya kualitas koleksi sehingga tidak dapat dimanfaatkan secara maksimal. Pustakawan sangat perlu mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kerusakan koleksi perpustakaan. Faktor-faktor kerusakan disebabkan oleh: 1) Faktor internal yang berasal dari karakteristik kertas (termasuk faktor kimia); dan 2) Faktor eksternal berupa: lingkungan, manusia, bencana alam, maupun biota. Selanjutnya faktor lingkungan yang termasuk faktor fisika seperti halnya cahaya, pencemaran udara, temperatur / suhu, kelembaban udara, serta debu. Perlunya mengidentifikasi faktor kerusakan sedini mungkin, karena agar kerusakan koleksi segera bisa dideteksi lebih awal, penanganan koleksi bisa dilakukan secara hati-hati sesuai jenis koleksi dan tingkat kerusakannya, sehingga koleksi dapat terjaga atau terpelihara dengan baik. Kata kunci: karakteristik kertas, lingkungan, manusia, bencana alam, biota, koleksi   . Books that become collections of libraries are assets, so it must be kept so that conditions are not lost or damaged. Broken collections are interpreted as decreasing the quality of the collection so they can not be fully utilized. Librarians need to know the factors that affect the damage of library collections. The damaging factors are caused by: 1) Internal factors deriving from paper characteristics (including chemical factors); and 2) External factors such as: environment, humans, natural disasters, and biota. Then environment factor like physical factors, for example: light, air pollution, temperature, humidity, and dust. The need to identify the damaging factors as early as possible, because to the deterioration of the collections there soon can be detected early, collections can be handled carefully according to the type of collection and the extent of the damage, and there fore the collection can be well maintained.
