  • Single Mothers Parenting Style In Adolescent Development: A Pilot Study

      Abstract: This study aims to understand the single mother parenting style in adolescent development. This pilot study involved three single mothers in Wajo District, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Criteria single mothers were selected based on the following criteria: (1) those who are divorced, widow, separated or single parenting, and abandoned by her husband for two years which do not provide for sufficient; (2) they are the mother of their own child, and (3) they have children aged 13-15 years old. The study participants were coded to represent single mothers (SM), consisting of SM1-PS, SM2-PS, dan SM3-PS. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the participants. The interview session takes about 20-30 minutes for each participant and interviews are recorded by voice recording device. The data gathered from semi-structured interviews were transcribed. The data analyzed using N-vivo 11 software.  The results reported two main themes are: 1) the relationship between single mother and the child, with sub-theme are: communication; 2)  the single mother ways in parenting style, with sub-themes: motivation, setting rules, solving the problem, supporting children’s activities, respecting children’s opinions. Conclusion: The relationships between single mother and their child as well that is supported by communication with the mother. The ways that single mothers do in parenting style applies motivation, setting rules, solving the problem, supporting children’s activities, respecting children’s opinions. Those ways are more like authoritative parenting style.  In addition, the single mothers who use corporal punishment by hitting children are more likely to cause children to run away from home and afraid to go home. In addition, the mother is firm in showing her decision to be followed by the child and no one can change it. The ways that single mothers do are more likely to be authoritarian style.

  • Efektivitas Teknik Latihan Asertif Untuk Meningkatkan Internal Locus Of
           Control Siswa dalam Belajar

      Abstract: the objectives of the research are to discover (1) the description of the students’ internal locus of control in learning in class VIII at SMPN 5 Pasarwajo (2) the effectiveness of assertive training technique in improving the students’ internal locus of control in learning in class VIII at SMPN 5 Pasarwajo. The research was quasi experimental research which employed quantitative approach with pretest-posttest control group design. The measurement instrument were scale and observation. The data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics analysis and t-test. The results of the research reveal that (1) the levels of the students’ internal locus of control in learning in class VIII at SMPN 5 Pasarwajo before given the treatment it improves to high category, (2) Assertive training technique is effective to improve the students’ internal locus of control in learning in class VIII at SMPN 5 Pasarwajo.

  • Ethics And Legal Issues In Online Counseling Services: Counseling

      Abstract: Challenges of living and dynamics modern society has spawned complex problems experienced by individuals. Counseling process with a variety formats attempt to develop the optimization of the individual. The development of the counseling process format formed a variety of alternative media that are capable to accommodating the communication process between the counselor and the client. The Media creates an atmosphere of counseling in long-distance (distance) condition has some advantages as well as disadvantages. One of the distance counseling forms is counseling online. With one form of service with fairly new developments, online counseling has had a significant positive impact on easing the client's problems. But on the other hand, this service also has some weaknesses that must be understood and controlled, especially for a counselor. This manuscript uses a documentary study approach on ethical conditions, counseling issues in Indonesia and discusses some of the ethical issues that must be understood by counselors during the process of online counseling in keeping some of the important principles in the counseling process.

  • The Meaning Of Divorce For Wives (The Marriage Age 20 Years And Above)

      Abstract: This study aims to (1) describe the overview of the life of the Marriage (2) Explain the reason for the wives did divorce at the age of marriage has reached 20 years (3) Knowing the psychological condition of the subjects post-divorce. This study uses a qualitative method of data collection in the form of interviews and documentation. The research subjects are four and add with the informant as much as four people. The results of this research are (1) Household life subjects had massive conflicts, domestic violence and even infidelity. The conflict that often occurs and the lack of ability to make problem solving the complex problems faced. Child's attitude does not affect the subject's decision to divorce. (2) A lot of unpleasant incident in the relationship of husband and wife for households. Subjects have been feeling tired and physically to survive, while there was no sign of positive change of her husband, the kids are great, economically ex-husband and the family is quite helpful and the subjects feel life itself will be better then the subject decided to divorce. Perception wife, honored to perform contested normal divorced from the talak divorce. (3) Subject to feel more calm because of the conflict intensity dropped dramatically after the divorce for no longer live at home with her husband. Subjects had a lot of time to themselves and deepen the use of religion and worship. Only in this way, the subject may continue to be grateful and do not regret the past life. However, the subjects had to make a living despite the additional subsidy granted by the former husband. In the social interaction is often the subject of conversation to be sensitive to neighbors or group those talks about divorce.

      Abstract: Various juvenile delinquencies today lead them to the realm of law so they go to jail. The government has sought to provide coaching for juvenile inmates so that they are ready to enter new life once free, but the coaching that has been implemented has not been able to optimally reduce the problems of juvenile inmates. One of the problems that juvenile inmates face is the feeling of excessive fear and anxiety unacceptable in the social environment after being released from prison, which is also called social anxiety. For that, it takes a variety of understanding and appropriate programs to overcome social anxieties of juvenile inmates who can be done through counseling and counseling services This paper discusses the basic concepts of social anxiety and the importance of counseling and guidance services

  • Perbedaan Tingkat Berpikir Construal Terhadap Kontrol Diri Pada Mahasiswa

      Abstract: This study aims to determine the differences in the construal level thinking of the self-control on the students of the Faculty of Psychology at the State University of Makassar. This study used a comparative method to determine how much the role of different levels of thinking construal on self-control, with a total sample of 60 subjects. The population of this study were students of Psychology UNM faculty. Data collected by the BIF scale and self-control scale. The data which had collected, then, analyzed using statistical analysis Independent Sample T-Test. The results showed that there are differences in the level of construal thinking on self-control, where individuals who develop a high -level construal thinking will tend to have better self-control, compared with individuals who developed a low-level construal of thinking.

  • Pengaruh Stress Terhadap Kejadian Sleep Paralysis Pada Mahasiswa Fakultas
           Kedokteran

      Abstract: Abstract: The purpose of this study was to see the effect of stress on the incidence of sleep paralysis in medical students. The research method based on the analysis of 52 respondents of medical students selected by simple random sampling. The data were collected using a questionnaire containing 14 questions about stress and 8 questions about sleep paralysis. Data were statistically analyzed with logistic regression method using SPSS version 24.0 computer program. The results showed as many as 25 (48%) of respondents experiencing stress and 30 (58%) of respondents experiencing sleep paralysis. Stressed respondents had a risk of having a sleep paralysis of 4.6 fold compared to those who did not.
      It is suggested that the leaders in the medical faculty should also provide psychological counseling and guidance facilities for students, especially those experiencing stress.Keywords: Stress, sleep paralysis, sleep disorder, medical student Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat pengaruh stress terhadap kejadian sleep paralysis pada mahasiswa fakultas kedokteran. Metode penelitian berdasarkan analisa terhadap 52 responden mahasiswa fakultas kedokteran yang terpilih secara simple random sampling. Pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner yang berisi 14 pertanyaan seputar stress dan 8 pertanyaan seputar sleep paralysis. Analisis data menggunakan uji statistik metode logistik regresi dengan program komputer SPSS versi 24.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 25 (48%) responden mengalami stress dan 30 (58%) responden mengalami sleep paralysis. Responden yang mengalami stress memiliki risiko untuk mengalami sleep paralysis sebesar 4.6 kali lipat jika dibandingkan dengan responden yang tidak mengalami stress. Disarankan agar pimpinan di fakultas kedokteran sebaiknya juga menyediakan sarana bimbingan dan konsultasi psikologi bagi mahasiswa terutama yang mengalami stress.Kata kunci: Stress, sleep paralysis, gangguan tidur, mahasiswa kedokteran

      Abstract: The purpose of this study to determine metacognition skills possessed by students. The study used phenomenology research model. Subjects of this study are counseling and guidance students who follow the statistical course of the 2010-2014 class. Data were collected by conducting interviews and through qualitative questionnaires. Further data is analyzed by phenomenology analysis technique. The result of the study can be concluded that the student tendency has negative metacognition skills and some students have positive metacognition skills.

      Abstract: This study aims to examine students' academic procrastination. The approach used is a quantitative approach with descriptive research type. The study variable is the student's academic procrastination by measuring aspects of delay for initiating and completing tasks, delays in tasks, time gaps between actual plans and performance, and performing more enjoyable activities. The higher the score obtained the higher the frequency of students in doing academic procrastination, and vice versa. Sampling using simple random sampling technique with a sample of 230 people from a total population of 349 people. Technique of collecting data is done through three characteristic that is stimulus, psychology attribute and response then data analyzed with descriptive analytical technique. Based on the result of the research shows that the level of academic procrastination of the students of Faculty of Education Universitas Negeri Makassar is 0 people in very high category, 25 people are in high category, 84 people are in medium category, 99 people are in low category, and 22 people are in very low category. These results indicate that the level of postponing behavior of students for MARPs is low.

  • Level Keputusan Moral Remaja Berdasarkan Etnis

      Abstract: This study is designed to describe the rate of multiethnic adolescent moral judgement development in West Borneo. The data analysis used is seeking for score P by summing up scores of stages 5A, 5B, and 6 for either each criteria or totality. This score P may be interpreted as score of subject moral judgment in making a decision, then index score is looked for. Furthermore, the index score is conversed into score T. Highest score T obtained by respondent represent the inclination of moral development level. Adolescent moral decision based on the research findings suggest highest Post Conventional level is native ethnic groups of Madura, whereas lowest Post Conventional level is Chinese ethnics. Conclusion in this study is each ethnic having high collectivism culture is not definite yet at high Post Conventional level.
