Authors : Ali, P.M. Naushad; Malik, Basharat Ahmad; Raza, Ali : This study aims to analyze globally published research papers on Knowledge Sharing (KS) using different bibliometric parameters based on data downloaded from Thomson Reuter’s Web of Science (WoS). Results indicated that an increasing trend was found in annual production during 1990–2016. The two most productive journals are Journal of Knowledge Management and Knowledge Management Research & Practice. Out of the 101 countries that contributed to research papers on ‘knowledge sharing’, USA topped with 689 articles. • Resource procurement trend among leading university libraries in India: A
study of ascribed and achieved ranking

    • Abstract: Title: Resource procurement trend among leading university libraries in India: A study of ascribed and achieved ranking
Authors : Pandita, Ramesh; Singh, Shivendra : The study is based on the university-ranking list, released by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India on April 04, 2016 and attempts to evaluate the ranking of university libraries on the basis of resources procured and the research output recorded by these institutions during the years 2012-13, 2013-14 & 2014-15. On an average, 44% of the library budget in the university libraries across India is being spent on the procurement of print resources and 56% towards the procurement of electronic resources. And again, on an average each university library in India spends Rs. 58.74 million on the procurement of library resources each year and spends Rs. 0.364 million on the resource procurement against each faculty member. Each faculty member during the period of study has on an average published 3.73 research articles. These and many more aspects have been studied and based on seven different identified parameters, variations were observed in the ascribed and achieved ranking of the university libraries.Page(s): 228-238

  • Content analysis based evaluation of library websites: a case study

    • Abstract: Title: Content analysis based evaluation of library websites: a case study
Authors : Devi, Ksh. Krishna; Verma, Manoj Kumar : One hundred and seventy two parameters and a five-point rating scale have been designed to rank IITs and NITs library websites. A detailed criterion has been developed with two variables “Yes” and “No” while conditional and additional scenarios were added as per the requirement. The present study was carried out on the library website/web page of the 19 IITs and 29 NITs. The study reveals that the score point of IIT Kanpur library website placed in the first position and NIT Agartala placed in the last position among all the engineering institution taken for the study. The study further suggested that the evaluation of libraries’ website must be done frequently so as to check the structure and information available in the website as well as to keep the website updated.Page(s): 239-251

  • Indian e-journals in library and information science: A study based on
coverage in UGC approved list of journals

    • Abstract: Title: Indian e-journals in library and information science: A study based on coverage in UGC approved list of journals
Authors : Gupta, Dinesh K; Kumar, Vijendra : In the recently released UGC list of approved journals, 11 out of 40 Indian LIS journals were found having e-
      ISSN s. While searching the
      ISSN database for e-
ISSN s of the remaining journals, 7 more were found having e-
ISSN s. However, four of these seven journals could not be considered for the present study as they had wrong country of origin, the journal is not an exclusive LIS journal, etc. Finally, fourteen LIS online Indian journals with e-
ISSN s have been studied. The study finds that a detailed check list needs to be developed to assess the journals and concludes that there is a need for improving the quality of journals and making them comparable with the global standards.Page(s): 252-260
