RELIABILITY OF STRUCTURES DURING THE CONSTRUCTION DEWATERING AS A BIM TASK

  Abstract: Determination of the dynamics of the groundwater level is one of the most important tasks, without the solution of which it is impossible to reliably estimate the reliability and durability of the projected building. In this article, the concept of applying information modeling technologies for obtaining a reliable "building-ground" system is proposed, which allows modeling the position of the groundwater level.

ANALYSIS OF STRUCTURAL PERFORMANCE USING FIBRE OPTIC MEASUREMENT
TECHNOLOGY

  Abstract: The paper describes the application of optical fibres for the structural monitoring which may be undertaken to establish the long-term of structures, components of construction and building materials. Condition monitoring is also used in repair and strengthening works. Examples of determination of strain, temperature and moisture content have been given. Two interesting examples of measurement using fibre optic technology were the monitoring of an actual bridge in Norway, subjected to controlled loading conditions, and tunnel deformations during the construction of a subway system in Japan. The presented results shows that the monitoring process using optical fibres has a great potential.

IMPROVING THE EFFICIENCY OF GEOTHERMAL ENERGY USE FOR RECREATION AND
BALNEOLOGY: A CASE STUDY OF SPA KREMNICA

  Abstract: In Slovakia, there are 26 areas suitable for extraction of geothermal water. In the existing facilities the energy from geothermal waters is mainly used for agriculture, space heating, recreation and balneology. This case study analyses the energy balance of a spa located in the city of Kremnica. Although the geothermal facility is fully functional, in the present situation a considerable amount of energy is wasted by releasing the used geothermal water directly to the recipient, without fully exploiting its energy potential. We propose a couple of energy efficiency measures to improve the level of exploitation of the geothermal energy. It is shown how these energy efficiency measures can substantially influence the energy expenditures despite the relatively low investment costs.

MODERN MATERIALS AND TECHNOLOGIES OF INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT

  Abstract: The article substantiates the necessity of using modern materials and technologies for purifying industrial wastewater, because the problem of processing waste products of galvanic production of machine-building enterprises is very important. The current situation in this area leads to environmental pollution by hazardous substances (CN–, Cr6+, F–, Cd2+), irrational use of raw materials and significant economic losses. Investigation of ways out of it is an urgent task. The results of a study of water supply and wastewater treatment problems are analyzed, i.e. the authors analyze the processing of technological solutions and wastewater, emphasizing the possibility of extracting valuable components and returning purified water to production. The authors propose to use hydrogen peroxide and hydrazine as a reagent for the extraction of metals at low salinity process water. An integrated approach to the analysis of the use of reagents, materials and technologies of wastewater treatment of industrial enterprises is proposed.

CYBER RELIABILITY OF CRITICAL PHYSICAL INFRASTRUCTURES

  Abstract: The paper considers the problem of constructing a full group of failure scenarios for physical infrastructures when subjected to cyber attacks (CAs). Physical infrastructures actually are systems of systems, or network of networks [1]. The main idea of the research rests on the assumption, that in order to damage any physical infrastructure by a cyber attack, it has to be able to produce a powerful enough physical impact on the most vulnerable part(s) of the infrastructure. Only civil engineering and industrial structures and installations connected to Internet and World Wide Web are considered. Hence, all infrastructures discussed below have to be elements of the Enterprise IoT or IoT, namely: electrical grids, oil, gas and product pipeline systems, water supply and disposal (waste) systems, rail networks, air traffic control and telecommunications (finance, commerce, business) networks, etc.

ANALYSIS OF ACCURACY OF IN-LINE INSPECTION RESULTS

  Abstract: The paper presents a method for assessing the accuracy of in-line inspection (ILI) results. The main objective of the method is to determine whether the measurements obtained by ILI are adequate and acceptable. If too few measured dimensions of defect parameters (for example, their depths) fall within the range of values obtained using verification results, this indicates that the ILI tool incorrectly estimated the actual data. Thus, the lower (upper) limit is estimated for the number of satisfactory (unsatisfactory) ILI tool measurements.
