- Abstract: Throughout the COVID-19 crisis leaders of the United States and other countries have given special recognition to supply chain management professionals, identifying them as critical to maintaining our economy throughout the crisis response. - Abstract: A combination of unstable building infrastructure, unstable transportation infrastructure, and insufficient inventory of humanitarian supplies can substantially increase the death toll of earthquake disasters. Unstable buildings collapse during major earthquakes and leave humans in need of humanitarian assistance. To further exacerbate the situation, transportation infrastructure failure can delay humanitarian supply distribution and lead to even more deaths.
