  • Pengaruh Pemberian Urea dan Sulfur pada Pembuatan Silase Limbah Padat
           Bioetanol yang Diberi Starter Em-4

      Abstract: ABSTRAK. Pembuatan bioetanol berbahan dasar singkong menghasilkan limbah padat yang berpotensi untuk dijadikan pakan ternak. Namun, limbah tersebut memiliki kandungan nutrien yang rendah, apabila diberikan pada ternak secara langsung. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan urea dan sulfur pada pembuatan silase limbah padat bioetanol dengan menggunakan starter EM-4 (Effective Mikroorganisms-4). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial 3 x 3 dengan tiga kali ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah penambahan urea dengan dosis masing-masing N1=0%, N2=1,5%, dan N3=3%, dan faktor kedua adalah penambahan sulfur dengan dosis masing-masing S1=0,00%, S2=0,02%, dan S3=0,04% dari bahan kering. Peubah yang diukur adalah kandungan asam laktat, pH, susut bahan kering, dan serat kasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat interaksi antara penambahan urea dan sulfur. Kombinasi penambahan urea 3% dan sulfur 0,04% menghasilkan asam laktat paling tinggi, yaitu 1,30%, serta menghasilkan pH dan susut bahan kering paling rendah dengan nilai rata-rata 3,33 dan 9,02%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi urea 3% dan sulfur 0,04% merupakan perlakuan yang paling baik. (Effect of urea and sulfur addition on silage from bioethanol solid waste using EM-4 starters) ABSTRACT. In the making of bioethanol made of cassava as basic component produce solid waste that has potential as livestock feed. However, this waste product is of low nutritional value when given directly to the livestocks due to the high crude fiber. Therefore, waste should be done with pretreatment, and one of the way was done by fermentation. The aim of this research was to observe the effect of urea and sulfur additive in the making of bioethanol solid waste silage by using EM-4 starters. This research used 3 x 3 Completely Randomized Design with 3 replicates. The first factor was urea additive with different dosage N1=0%, N2=1.5%, N3=3%, and the second factor was sulfur additive with dosage S1=0.00%, S2=0.02%, S3=0.04%. The measured variables were concentration of lactic acid, pH, dry matter loss, and crude fiber content. The results showed that there were no interactions between urea and sulfur. Addition of 3% urea and 0,04% sulfur in substrate showed the highest of lactic acid with the average value of 1.32% and the lowest pH and crude fiber with average value 3.33 and 9.02%. It was concluded that combination of 3% urea and 0,04% sulfur was the best treatment.

  • Evaluasi Tingkah Laku Sexual Kambing Kacang Jantan di Unit Pemukiman
           Transmigrasi (UPT) Desa Bina Gara Kabupaten Halmahera Timur

      Abstract: ABSTRAK. Keberhasilan IB kambing dipengaruhi salah satunya kualitas pejantan yang ditandai kemampuan menghasilkan semen dengan kualitas makroskopis dan mikroskopis tinggi. Kemampuan ini dipengaruhi oleh sexual behaviornya. Sebagai daerah transmigrasi yang berpotensi untuk pegembangan peternakan kambing, sekaligus banyak populasi kambing kacang di Halmahera Timur, sehingga desa Bina Gara menjadi lokasi sampel penelitian ini. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengevaluasi sexual behavior sebagai gambaran kinerja reproduksi kambing Kacang jantan. Materi yang digunakan yaitu 9 pejantan dan 5 betina yang dibagi dalam 3 kelompok umur masing-masing P1 (1,5 tahun), P2 (2,5 tahun) P3 (4 tahun). Metode yang digunakan yaitu survey dengan pemilihan sampel secara purposive sampling dengan variabel yaitu waktu reaksi, jumlah fals mounting, daya jepit, daya dorong dan kualitas ereksi. Data dianalisis deskriptif menggunakan software genstat 14.2. Hasil yang diperoleh yaitu waktu reaksi P2 terbaik = 1,07±0,13, fals mounting rata-rata 2x di semua kelompok umur, daya jepit dan daya dorong 3+ di semua kelompok umur dan skor kualitas ereksi 3+ pada semua kelompok umur. Kesimpulan penelitian ini yaitu tingkah laku sexual kambing kacang jantan di Unit Pemukiman Transmigrasi (UPT) Desa Bina Gara Kabupaten Halmahera Timur secara umum memiliki performans terbaik pada semua kelompok umur, ditandai score false mounting 2 kali, daya jepit +3 dan kualitas ereksi +3, sedangkan untuk waktu reaksi skor tertinggi yaitu pada kelompok umur 2,5 tahun. (The evaluation of sexual behavior on kacang buck (capra hircus) in transmigration settlement unit (TSU) Bina Gara Village East Halmahera District) ABSTRACT. The success of Artificial Insemination goat is related to quality service quality with high macroscopic and microscopic qualities. This ability is subject to sexual behavior. As a transmigration area that shifts for the development of goat farms, as well as many Kacang Buck populations in East Halmahera, so the village of Bina Gara became the sample location of this study. This study was conducted with the aim to raise sexual behavior as a description of the performance of Kacang Buck. The material used is 9 males and 5 females divided into 3 age groups of each P1 (1.5 years), P2 (2.5 years) P3 (4 years). The method used is survey with sample selection by purposive sampling with reaction time variabel, the amount of fals mounting, clamp power, thrust and erection quality. The data were analyzed descriptively using software genstat 14.2. The result is the best reaction time P2 = 1.07 ± 0.13, False mounting averages 2x in all age groups; 3-clamp force and thrust in all age groups and 3+ erectile quality score in all age groups. This research is sexual behavior of goat beans in Transmigration Resettlement Unit (TRU) of Bina Gara Village of East Halmahera Regency has the best performance in all age group, cleanliness 2 times, power +3 clamp and erection quality +3, while for time The highest score reactions are in the 2.5 year age group.

  • Efektivitas Ekstrak Daun Babadotan Sebagai Green Antiseptic untuk Pencelup
           Puting Sapi Perah

      Abstract: ABSTRAK. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui efektifitas ekstrak daun babadotan sebagai bahan aktif cairan pencelup puting (teat dipping) untuk menghambat masuknya bakteri melalui puting, serta membandingkan efektifitasnya dengan povidone iodine. Dua belas ekor sapi perah laktasi penderita mastitis subklinis digunakan dalam rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Perlakuan berupa teat dipping menggunakan ekstrak daun babadotan 5%, 10%, 15% dan povidone iodine 10% selama 14 hari. Tingkat peradangan kelenjar ambing diketahui dari penjumlahan skor California mastitis test (CMT) dari keempat puting sapi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan penurunan rata-rata total koloni bakteri dalam susu yang sangat signifikan (P<0.01) dari 6,1-7,3 log cfu/ml sebelum pencelupan menjadi 4,4-6,0 log cfu/ml sesudah pencelupan. Tidak ada perbedaan efektifitas sebagai antibakteri antara ekstrak daun babadotan dan povidone iodine dalam menurunkan total koloni bakteri dalam susu. Terjadi penurunan tingkat peradangan kelenjar ambing (P<0.01) dari rata-rata 6,9 sebelum teat dipping menjadi 4,2 sesudah teat dipping. Persentase penurunan tingkat peradangan ambing ekstrak daun babadotan lebih tinggi (P<0.05) dari povidone iodine. pH susu setelah dipping lebih rendah (P<0,05) dari pH susu sebelum dipping. Berdasarkan hasil dapat disimpulkan ekstrak daun babadotan dapat digunakan sebagai alternative antiseptik yang bertindak sebagai anti bakteri dan anti inflamasi dengan konsentrasi terbaik 5% ekstrak. (Effectiveness of Ageratum conyzoides leaves extract as green antiseptic for teat dipping practices in dairy cow) ABSTRACT. The research was conducted to determine the effectiveness babadotan leaf extract (BLE) as an active ingredient of antiseptic teat dip for inhibiting the entry of bacteria through the nipple, and to compare its effectiveness with synthetic antiseptic povidone iodine(PI). Twelve lactating dairycows suffering from subclinical mastitis were used in a completely randomized design. Teat dipping use 5%, 10% and 15% of BLE and PI 10% for 14 days. The result show average total bacterial colonies in milk was reduced significantly (P<0.01) from 6,1-7,3log cfu/ml at before dipping to 4,4-6,0 log cfu/ml after dipping. There are no differences between BLE and PI in reducing total bacterial colonies. A decline in the level of the mammary glands inflammation (P<0.01) from an average at before teat dipping 6.9 to 4.2 after teat dipping. Compared with PI, the percentage decrease in the level of mammary gland’s inflammation of cows using BLE antiseptic is significantly higher (P<0.05). Milk pH at after teat dipping practices is lower (P<0.05) than before dipping. In conclusion, BLE can be used as an alternativeantiseptic due to its effectiveness as antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. The recommendation concentration of the babadotan antiseptic is 5% of extract.

  • Kemampuan Antibakteri Susu Fermentasi terhadap Escherichia coli dan
           Shigella

      Abstract: ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan starter Lactobacillus plantarum pada konsentrasi 3%, 4% dan 5% dan diinkubasi selama 48 jam pada suhu kamar. Pengamatan terhadap susu fermentasi dilakukan selama 8 hari. Selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian terhadap aktivitas penghambatan mikroba dari susu fermentasi terha­dap bakteri patogen. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengulangan dengan 3 kali ulangan. Data statistic diolah menggunakan ANOVA. Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan kemampuan dari susu fermentasi sebagai antibakteri pada Escherichia coli dan Shigella flexneri (106 CFU/ml) di dalam nutrient agar. Fermentasi susu pada konsentrasi 5% memperlihatkan zona hambatan tertinggi (17.42 mm) terhadap E. coli  pada hari kedua. Sedangkan pada Shigella flexneriipenghambatan sebesar 8.88 mm dengan konsentrasi 5% pada hari ketiga. (The antibacterial ability of fermented milk to escherichia coli and shigella flexneri) ABSTRACT. This research used Lactobacillus plantarum as starter (concentration 3%, 4%, 5 %) and incubated for 48 hours at room temperature. Milk fermentation results were observed from the first day until the eighth day under room temperature. Then, microbe activity test was analyzed to find whether the milk fermentation inhibit pathogen microbe activity. Experimental design used was Repeated Measurement with three replications. Data collected was analyzed using Analysis of Variance. Least Significant Test was used to determine difference between treatments. The antibacterial ability of suppresing Enterobacte­riaceae activity is observed by using Escherichia coli and Shigella flexneri (106 CFU/ml) in Nutrient Agar and challenge with milk fermented 3%, 4% and 5% (50 µl/well). Tetracyline, chloramphenicol and a plain paper disc are used as control, milk fermented with 5% of starter concentration shown the biggest  inhibitation zone  (17.42 mm) to E. coli on the second day of observation. It was compared by Shigella flexneri (8.88 mm) from fermented milk with 5% of starter concentration on the third day.

  • Penggunaan Tepung Limbah Jus Jeruk (citrus sinensis) dalam Ransum terhadap
           Kualitas Karkas Ayam Broiler

      Abstract: ABSTRAK. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengetahui pengaruh tingkat penggunaan tepung limbah jus jeruk (Citrus sinensis) dalam ransum terhadap kualitas karkas (bobot potong, bobot karkas, persentase karkas, kolesterol karkas, bobot lemak abdomen) dan konsumsi ransum ayam broiler. Materi yang digunakan adalah ayam broiler umur satu hari unsex, strain Arbor Acres CP 707 sebanyak 200 ekor. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap terdiri 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan masing-masing ulangan terdiri dari 10 ekor ayam. Perlakuan terdiri dari P0 = Ransum mengandung 0% tepung limbah jus jeruk (kontrol positif); P1 = Ransum mengandung 0% tepung limbah jus dengan penambahan basitrasin 0,02% (kontrol negatif); P2 = jeruk mengandung 5% tepung limbah jus jeruk; P3 = Ransum mengandung 10% tepung limbah jus jeruk; P4 = Ransum 15% tepung limbah jus jeruk. Variabel yang diamati adalah kualitas karkas (bobot potong, bobot karkas, persentase karkas, kolesterol karkas, lemak abdomen) dan konsumsi ransum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tepung limbah jus jeruk dalam ransum nyata (P<0,05) menurunkan konsumsi ransum, bobot potong, bobot karkas, kolesterol karkas dan bobot lemak abdomen, tetapi penggunaan tepung limbah jus jeruk dalam ransum tidak mempengaruhi persentase karkas. Kesimpulan yang dapat diambil dari penelitian ini adalah penggunaan tepung limbah jus jeruk (Citrus sinensis) dapat digunakan sampai taraf 5% dalam ransum ayam broiler. (The use of orange (citrus sinensis) juice by products in the ration on carcass quality of broiler chickens)
      ABSTRACT. This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of orange (Citrus sinensis) juice by products in rations on (carcass quality) ; weight of slaughter, carcass weight, carcasspercentages, abdominal fat weight and feed intake of broiler chicks. A total of two hundred unsexed 1 d-old chicks (Arbor Acres CP-707) used. The design used was Completely Randomized Design consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications of each replication consisting of 10 chickens. Feed treatment consisted of P0 = 0% orange juice waste flour (positive control); P1 = 0% waste juice flour with 0.02% basitratin addition (negative control); P2 = 5% orange juice flour waste; P3 = 10% orange juice flour waste; P4 = 15% orange juice flour waste. The variables observed were carcass quality (cut weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, carcass cholesterol, abdominal fat) and ration consumption..The results showed that the use of orange juice flour in the ration significantly influenced (P <0.05) in reducing the consumption of ration, cut weight, carcass weight, carcass cholesterol and abdominal fat weight, but the use of orange juice waste flour in the ration did not affect the percentage of carcass . As a conclusion is the use of orange juice waste flour (Citrus sinensis) can be used to a level of 5% in broiler chicken rations.

  • Karakteristik Sarang dan Penetasan Telur Burung Mamoa (Eulipoa wallacei)
           di Galela Kabupaten Halmahera Utara

      Abstract: ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi karakteristik sarang mamoa dan penetasan eks-situ (penetasan diluar habitat) yang menggunakan mesin tetas (inkubator) dan in-situ (di dalam habitat) secara semi alami. Penelitian survei dilakukan untuk mengetahui karakteristik sarang dan percobaan laboratorium untuk menentukan tingkat keberhasilan penetasan di habitat semi-alami di pantai Uwo uwo Kecamatan Galela pada kedalaman yang berbeda (20, 40, 60, 80 dan 100 cm). Analisis data digunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis varian dalam program SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik sarang peneluran pada habitat bertelur antara lain temperatur 31,88 ± 1,58 0C, dan kelembaban 67,00 ± 4,04%,. Diameter lubang 136,20 8,93 cm dan kedalaman lubang 58,17 ± 4,3 cm dan tebal timbunan 67,97 ± 4,33 cm, tingkat keberhasilan penetasan In-situ (semi alami) mencapai 100% pada kedalaman 20, 40, 60, 80 dan 100 cm dan Eks-situ (inkubator) hanya mencapai 75%. (Nest characteristics and hatching of mamoa bird egg (Eulipoa wallacei) in Galela District of North Halmahera) ABSTRACT. This study was conducted to identify the characteristics of mamoa’s nest as a basis for semi-natural and artificial hatching experiments. Survey study was to determine the characteristics of the nest (temperature, humidity) and experiments one was to determine the hatching success rate in semi-natural habitats on the beach of Uwo uwo Galela District where naturally Mamoa lays the eggs, at different depths (20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 cm). Data analysis applied was descriptive analysis and multivariate test using SPSS computer program. Results of the study showed that in the natural nesting ground temperature of 31,88 ± 1,58 oC, and humidity of 67,00 ± 4,04%. The hole diameter of 136,20 ± 8,93 cm and hole depth of 58,17 ± 4,3 cm and the thick pile of 67,97 ± 4,33 cm, hatching success rate of In-situ reached 100% at depths of 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 cm and ex-situ is only 75%.

           Vitamin E dalam Ransum terhadap Peningkatan Kualitas Semen Ayam Arab

      Abstract: ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari pengaruh pemberian kombinasi pakan fermentasi dengan multi enzim pencernaan dan vitamin E da­lam ransum komersial terhadap peningkatan kuali­tas semen ayam arab. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari 4 kelompok perlakuan dengan 5 kali ulangan. P0 : ransum komersial 100 %, P1: 89,83% ransum komersial + 10% pakan fermentasi + 0,15% multi enzim + 0,02% vitamin E, P2 : 79,83% ransum komersial + 20% pakan fermentasi + 0,15% multi enzim + 0,02% vitamin E, dan P3 : 69,83% ransum komersial + 30% pakan fermentasi + 0,15% multi enzim + 0,02% vitamin E. Koleksi semen dilakukan pada hari ke 36 dengan metode masase. Data kuali­tas semen yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan meng­gunakan analisis of variance (ANOVA) satu arah yang dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan’s. Hasil peneli­tian menunjukkan pemberian kombinasi pakan fermentasi dengan multi enzim dan vitamin E dalam ransum komersial berpengaruh secara nyata (P<0,05) terhadap peningkatan volume, pH semen, konsentrasi spermatozoa, motilitas, spermatozoa hidup, dan penurunan abnormalitas ayam arab, namun tidak berbeda secara nyata (P>0,05) terhadap warna, konsistensi dan gerakan massa spermatozoa. Dapat disimpulkan pemberian kombi­nasi pakan fermentasi dengan multi enzim dan vitamin E dalam ransum komersial dapat meningkatkan kualitas semen ayam arab. (Effect addition of fermented feed with the multi-enzyme digestion and vitamin E in commercial feed on improvement the quality of semen arab chicken) ABSTRACT. The study aimed to determine the effect of fermented feed addition combination with the multi enzyme digestion and vitamin E on the quality of semen arab’s chicken. This research used a randomized block design (RAK) consisting four treatments with four replications. P0: 100% Commercial feed (524), P1: 89.83% commercial feed + 10% fermented feed + 0.02% vitamin E + 0.15% multi enzyme, P2: 79.83% commercial feed + 20% fermented feed + 0.02% vitamin E + 0.15% multi enzim, P3: 69.83% commercial feed + 30% fermented feed + 0.02% vitamin E + 0.05% multi enzyme. Semen sample was collected at 36th day using a massage method. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued by Duncan test. The results showed that addition of combination of fermented feed with multi enzyme and vitamin E has significantly effect (P<0,05) on increases of the volume, pH, spermatozoa concentration, percentage of spermatozoa motility, spermatozoa life, and degreased the percentage of spermatozoa abnormalities. This research can be concluded that addition combination of fermented feed with the multi enzyme and vitamin E can improve the quality of spermatozoa arab’s chicken.

  • Pengaruh Pemberian Pakan dengan Sumber Protein Berbeda terhadap Efisiensi
           Penggunaan Protein Ayam Lokal Persilangan

      Abstract: ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pemberian pakan dengan sumber protein berbeda terhadap efisiensi penggunaan protein ayam lokal persilangan. Materi penelitian adalah 126 ekor ayam lokal persilangan (unsexed) umur 2 minggu, bobot badan 129,02 ± 6,34 g. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), dengan 3 perlakuan, serta 7 ulangan, dan setiap unit percobaan terdiri dari 6 ekor ayam. Perlakuannya antara lain T1: 2 sumber protein (bungkil kedelai, tepung ikan); T2: 3 sumber protein (bungkil kedelai, tepung ikan, MBM (Meat Bone Meal)); T3: 4 sumber protein (bungkil kedelai, tepung ikan, Meat Bone Meal (MBM), Poultry Meat Meal (PMM)). Pakan sumber energi (jagung dan bekatul), pakan sumber mineral CaCo3. Pakan diberikan secara bebas memilih, ad libitum dan dalam benruk mash. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) dengan uji F taraf 5%, dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pakan dengan sumber protein berpengaruh nyata (p<0,05) meningkatkan konsumsi protein (T1: 7,65c; T2: 9,57b; T3: 11,40a) g/ekor/hari, menurunkan rasio efisiensi protein (T1: 1,65a; T2: 1,42b; T3: 1,40b), dan meningkatkan asupan protein (T1: 5,82c; T2: 7,30b; T3: 8,82a) g/ekor/hari. Disimpulkan bahwa pemberian pakan dengan sumber protein (bungkil kedelai dan tepung ikan) dapat meningkatkan efisiensi protein ayam lokal persilangan. (The influence of different protein source on efficiency protein of crossbred local chicken) ABSTRACT. This research was aimed to determine the influence of different protein source on protein utilization of Crossbred Local Chicken. Using 126 Crossbred Local Chicken unsexed 2 weeks old with the average body weight 129,02 ± 6,34 g. Completely randomized design with 3 treatments and 7 replication applied, each experimental unit consistent of 6 chickens. The treatment are T1: 2 protein source (soybean meal, fish meal); T2: 3 protein source (soybean meal, fish meal, meat bone meal); T3: 4 protein source (soybean meal, fish meal, meat bone meal. poultry meat meal). Feed energy source (corn and rice bran) and mineral source (CaCo3). Feed given with method free choice feeding, ad libitum, mash. The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance F-test with level 5% and Duncan test. The research showed that different protein source significantly (P<0,05), increase protein consumption (T1: 7,65c; T2: 9,57b; T3: 11,40a) g/day, descreased ratio protein efficiency (T1: 1,65a; T2: 1,42b; T3: 1,40b) and increase protein intake (T1: 5,82c; T2: 7,30b; T3: 8,82a) g/day. As a cconclusion that feeding with soybean meal and fish meal as protein source able to improve protein efficiency of crossbred local chicken.

      Abstract: ABSTRAK. Pendekatan penelitian pada peternakan rakyat Livestock On-Farm Trials ditujukan untuk mengidentifikasi sistem produksi peternakan sapi potong di pedesaan wilayah Kabupaten yaitu Cilacap, Banyumas, Purbalingga, Banjarnegara dan Kebumen. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendo­kumentasikan karakteristik sistem produksi peter­nakan sapi potong, strategi pengembangan untuk meningkatkan produktivitas serta dukungan pem­biayaan dari bank. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan pola yang diterapkan berupa peternakan tradisional berlahan terbatas (traditional rural landless) yang terintegrasi dengan sistem pertanian utamanya tanaman padi. Sapi Peranakan Ongole (PO) sangat dominan ditemukan dan merupakan sapi lokal yang tersebar di lima kabupaten. Pada wilayah penelitian juga ditemukan Sapi Brahman Cross yang dituju­kan untuk pembiakan. Penampilan produksi sapi PO, Sumba Ongole dan Persilangan Simmental untuk tujuan penggemukan memperlihatkan hasil BCS sedang sampai tinggi, tetapi produktivitas sapi Brahman Cross cenderung rendah. Diperlukan per­baikan pada feeding system and good farming practices untuk meningkatkan produktivitas sapi. Kebijakan untuk meningkatkan akses pembiayaan kredit, meliputi (i) Penguatan dinamika kelompok dan penerapan teknologi untuk memperbaiki pro­duktivitas sapi potong, (ii) pendampingan pemerin­tah mengenai aspek penjaminan dan subsidi kredit, penyediaan bantuan untuk revitalisasi pertanian yang dikelola pemerintah dan perbankan, (iii) bekerjasama dengan mitra yang sesuai seperti per­bankan dan BUMN untuk program Kredit Kemi­traan dan Corporate Social Responsibility. (Livestock production system of beef cattle in the village and their development strategies) ABSTRACT. Livestock On-Farm Trials addressed to identify livestock system of beef cattle produc­tion in the villages of Cilacap, Banyumas, Purbalingga, Banjarnegara and Kebumen regencies. This study was designed to documenting the pro­duction system characteristics of beef cattle and development strategic of livestock production system in order to increase their productivity and financial support from bank. Beef cattle production systems characterize by traditional rural landless and integrated with crops especially rice. Ongole Cross (Peranakan Ongole) are the predominant of the local cattle and are widely distributed over the five regencies. Brahman Cross also found that are raising for cow calf operation. Performance of Peranakan Ongole, Sumba Ongole, and Simental Cross for fattening purposes were moderate till high of BCS, but low reproductive for Brahman Cross. Improving feeding system and good farming prac­tices could be practiced to increase beef cattle prod­uctivity could be practiced. The policy should be implemented in order to increase accessibility of credit include (i) Empowering group dynamic and applying technology for improving beef cattle pro­duction, (ii) need government assistant in term of collateral aspect and subsides credit, providing loan for agriculture revitalization which are resulted from government and organize by bank, (iii) col­laboration with compatible partner such bank and BUMN in the program of Kredit Kemitraan and Corporate Social Responsibility.

  • Performan dan Persentase Karkas Ayam Ras Petelur Jantan pada Kepadatan
           Kandang yang Berbeda

      Abstract: ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat kepadatan kandang yang berbeda terhadap performan dan persentase karkas. Materi penelitian yang digunakan adalah ayam ras petelur jantan strain Isa Brown dari PT Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm, Medan, sebanyak 208 ekor berumur 1 hari (DOC). Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), terdiri atas 4 perlakuan tingkat kepadatan kandang dan masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 4 kali. Perlakuannya antara lain adalah K1: 10 ekor/m2, K2:  12 ekor/m2, K3:  14 ekor/m2, K4:  16 ekor/m2. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan analysis of variance dan jika memberikan hasil yang nyata dilanjutkan dengan Uji Duncan. Variabel yang diamati meliputi: konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, bobot badan akhir, konversi ransum, mortalitas, bobot karkas dan persentase karkas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepadatan kandang yang berbeda 10, 12 14, dan 16 ekor/m2 tidak memberi pengaruh yang nyata terhadap konsumsi ransum ayam ras petelur jantan umur 6 minggu. Demikian juga halnya terhadap pertambahan bobot badan, bobot badan akhir, konversi ransum, bobot karkas. Pemeliharaan ayam ras petelur jantan pada kepadatan kandang yang berbeda tidak mengalami mortalitas (0%) selama 6 minggu penelitian. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah kepadatan kandang yang berbeda 10, 12, 14 dan 16 ekor/m2 tidak mempengaruhi performan, dan persentase karkas ayam ras petelur jantan umur 6 minggu. Pemeliharaan ayam ras petelur jantan masih dapat dilakukan pada kepadatan kandang 16 ekor/m2 tanpa mempengaruhi performan dan persentase karkas. (Performance and carcass percentage of male chicken layers with different density) ABSTRACT. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance and carcass percentage of male layer chickens in different density of cage. U 208 male layer DOC, strain Isa Brown produced by PT. Charoen Pokphand Jaya Farm, Medan. The study was designed into Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications; K1: 10 birds/m2, K2: 12 birds/m2, K3: 14 birds/m2  and K4: 16 birds/m2.Data was analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), a significant difference, would be analyzed with the Duncan Multiple Range Test. Measured variables were, body weight, feed consumption, feed conversion, mortality, and carcass percentage. The results  indicated that different density of cage has no significant effect on final body weight, body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion and carcass percentage of male layer chickens. Density of cage did not influence to mortality rate of male . In conclusion, density of  cage of 10, 12, 14, and 16 birds/m2 did not affect performance and carcass percentage of  male chicken layers.
