Abstract: The objective of this research is to analyze the commitment of ProvincialBasketball Representatives to the Federation in terms of emotional commitment, continuous commitment and normative commitment, including various demographicalcharacteristics. The population of this study comprises of any and all theprovincial representatives working under the Basketball Federation. For thispurpose, 81 voluntary provincial representatives, 2 of them are women, while 79of them are men, under the Turkish Basketball Federation, participated in thisstudy. The survey was sent to the provincial representatives via e-mail, thusbeing received in the same manner, after which they’re analyzed. Theinformation form of the survey comprises of demographical characteristics and “OrganizationalCommitment Scale” designed by Meyer and Allen (1984) adapted into Turkish byWasti (2000). The conformance of the quantitative data to the normaldistribution was tested with Kolmogorov Smirnov test. Mann Whitney U test wasutilized for the dual-group comparison of quantitative data indicating normaldistribution, while the Kruskal Wallis test was used for three or more groupsindicating normal distribution. Spearman’s Correlation Analysis was applied forthe evaluation of the interactions between the parameters. The Significance wasinterpreted on p<0.05 and p<0,01 scales.Following the research,The lowergrade for “Emotional Commitment” is in the range between “1,67 – 5”, and theaverage is 4,15±0,71. The lower grade for “Continuous Commitment” is in therange between “1,43 – 4,71”, and the average is 2.68±0,66. The lower grade for“Normative Commitment” is in the range between “1, 20 - 5”, and the averageis   3,69±0,82. In accordance with theseresults, no significant difference was observed on the Organizationalcommitment levels of Provincial representatives in line with their age, educational backgrounds of both bachelors and others, as well as their taskpreferences via the analysis carried out on three sub-dimension of commitment(P>0.05). However, a significant difference was observed in the same whenanalyzed in terms of the marital status, term of office, their previouspositions (sportsman, coach, referee, technical commissioner, etc.), includingthe findings obtained (P<0.05). It was found out that the emotional andnormative commitments of the Provincial Representatives to the federation isstrong, while the continuous commitment to the same is weak.
