  • Missing Data Estimation on Design of Experiments of Tuba Roots Ethanol
Extracts Against American Cockroach (Periplaneta americana) Yates Method

    • Authors: revi rosavika kinansi
Abstract: Before analyzing the results of experimental design, researchers have to choose the proper experimental design. Random Group (Randomized Completely Block Design) including single-factor design (consists of only one factor) is still a fairly simple design for field trials. On the field is generally difficult to obtain conditions that totally homogeneous, so that when the experiments were conducted with RAL will certainly gain a great error. The study was conducted using ethanol extract of plant roots tuba dissolved in 70% ethanol is sprayed on the outside of the body of a cockroach / cockroaches. Then observed how many cockroaches are dying as a result of an increase in the concentration level of tuba root extract. Researchers generally have been experimenting with caution, but several factors under the researchers' ability can cause data loss. Yates method is a method for the analysis of missing data on an experimental design by inserting the estimated value that minimizes the Sum of Squares Error. The use of Yates method for estimating missing data is very helpful to be able to do further analysis, in this case,  analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results of analysis of variance showed Award tuba root concentration levels in experimental animals has a significant influence, though not using the original data.

  • Pemeriksaan Malaria Sebelum dan Sesudah Pemasangan Kelambu LLIN di Desa
Sendangsari dan Desa Kalitapas, Kecamatan Bener, Kabupaten Purworejo,
           Provinsi Jawa Tengah

    • Authors: Wigati Wigati, Widiarti Widiarti, Wiwiek Trapsilowati, Kusno Barudin
Purworejo regency was the only district in Central Java, which has areas of Middle Case Incidence (MCI) of malaria. The objectives of the descriptive study were to know the type and stage of malaria parasites, occurrence of indigenous transmission and effect of Long Lasting Insecticides Nets (LLIN)
on malaria cases in Sendangsari and Kalitapas village, from May to October 2015. Blood samples of malaria patients were examined before and after using the LLIN and the blood samples were tested by conventional methods of blood thick and thin smear of blood fingertip. The results showed that slide positivity rate, was 7.69% before using insecticide mosquito nets and 1.5% after using insecticide mosquito nets and the stage of malaria parasite was gametocytes in children aged 2-4 years old. Based on parasite stage in young patient, a local transmission had occurred. Although the number of cases before and after usage of LLIN was declined, but it could be influenced by other vector control instead of LLIN,
which were distributed by Purworejo District Health Service. Keywords: Malaria, Mass Blood Survey, LLIN, PurworejoAbstrak

    • Authors: Addien Hakim Candra, Retnosari Andrajati, Sudibyo Supardi
WHO global data indicated that Indonesia is in the second rank of a country with largest prevalance of pulmonary tuberculosis after India. The main cause of healing failure in health centers is patients’ compliance in taking medication. The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of health services to medication adherence among pulmonary TB patients in health centers. The study design was crosssectional comparative study using data from questionnaires and medical status records. The population
was all pulmonary TB patients aged 15 years and above and being a category one in the Koja and Tarumajaya health centers from January until May 2016. Data analysis was a chi square test and multiple logistic regression method. The result showed that service quality provided for the TB patients between the two health centers were the service including accessible location, incomplete indoor facilities and active caregivers. There is a significant relationship between adequacy of seating facilities (p-value 0.038) and accessible location (p-value 0.038) in both health centers on the level of medication compliance. Medication service quality (p-value 0.042; OR 1.66) active caregivers (p-value 0.000; OR 2.4) and other
additional medication (p-value 0.01; OR 0.5) are the determinants of TB patients’ medication compliance. Keywords: Service quality, adherence, pulmonary tuberculosis, health centerAbstrak

    • Authors: Ning Sulistiyowati, Puti Sari Hidayangsih, Dwi Hapsari Tjandrarini
In an effort to decrease the maternal mortality rate in Indonesia, the government implements a lot of strategies and health programs by means of continum of care. This article aims to determine the factors of mothers affecting sustainable maternal health services using the 2013 Riskesdas
data. Data analyses were done by calculating the difference in the percentage of coverage of health indicators in each district/city and continuing to find a model determining the relationship of maternal
characteristics factors related to the continuation of maternal health care by logistic regression. The sustainability of maternal health service utilization in Indonesia is only 46%. The factors are the mother's education (OR = 1.79 and 2.58), the work of mothers (OR = 1.38), economic status (OR
= 1.65), pregnancy status (OR = 1.33), method of delivery (OR = 0.71 and 0.37), complications of pregnancy (OR = 1.13), birth complications (OR = 0.79), the travel time to health facilities (OR = 0.61 and 1.59), age at delivery (OR = 1.23). The study reveals that continuity of maternal health
services remain unsatisfactory. Government should pay more attention to improve the quality and access to maternal health services as to encourage mothers to sustain their health care. Keywords: continuum of care, maternal health, Riskesdas 2013Abstrak
Faktor yang mempengaruhi adalah pendidikan ibu (Adjusted OR=1,79 dan 2,58), pekerjaan ibu (Adjusted OR=1,38), status ekonomi (Adjusted OR=1,65), status kehamilan (Adjusted OR=1,33), metode persalinan (Adjusted OR=0,71 dan 0,37), komplikasi kehamilan (Adjusted OR=1,13), komplikasi persalinan (Adjusted OR=0,79), waktu tempuh ke fasilitas kesehatan (Adjusted OR=0,61 dan 1,59), umur saat melahirkan (Adjusted
OR=1,23). Kesinambungan pelayanan kesehatan maternal masih rendah.

    • Authors: Suparmi Suparmi, Iram Barida Maisya
Cesarean section rates in Indonesia increase almost double in the past five years, from 6.8% (2007) to 12.3% (2012). Very high cesarean section rates associated with adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target number 10 is to reduce inequalities in all sectors, including health. The study aims to explore socio-economic inequality and factors associates to caesarean section in Indonesia. This study was a cross-sectional study using data from the 2012 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS). The sample study was 12,973 mothers who ever gave live-birth in the last five years before the survey. The backward logistic regression was used for analysis. Our analysis shows socio-economic inequality of caesarean section rates. Mothers with highest socio-economic status had 4-fold higher odds of caesarean section compared to lowest quintile. Furthermore, complication of pregnancy and delivery, first pregnancy, twin, had health insurance, aged more than 35 years and live in urban area had higher odds of caesarean section. Therefore, it is important to assure caesarean section based on medical indications and increase health promotion on side effect of elective caesarean section without medical indication. Keywords: cesarean section, inequality, socio-demographic, IndonesiaAbstrak
