  • BETWEEN THE DEPTHS OF INSPIRATION AND ARTIFICIAL PARADISES: CAMPO DE
AMAPOLAS BLANCAS BY GONZALO HIDALGO BAYAL

Abstract: We analyze the cultural references (film, pictorial, literary and musical) that permeate Campo de amapolas blancas, by Gonzalo Hidalgo Bayal (2008a [1997]). Our analysis is not only based on the formal and rhetorical perspective that imbues this work's narrative prosody, but as recreation of the intellectual and emotional debt contracted by the author with the cultural notions and ideals (philosophical and aesthetic) that condition the work. The alliance between thought and emotion permeates this brief and somber novel, which masterfully plays with an alter ego of the writer.

  • A DETECTIVE ON THE CLUE OF FEMICIDE: EL LEVE ALIENTO DE LA VERDAD BY

Abstract: El leve aliento de la verdad, novel by Chilean writer Ramón Díaz Eterovic is inserted in the Latin American neopolicial in his criticism of a corrupt, patriarchal and sexist society, a system that violent women in sexual, domestic, labor field, until culminating in femicide. A criticism adds a complaint regarding the existence of corrupt and inefficient police and unequal application of laws in Chile. However, this novel Díaz Eterovic can not fully defined under the model neopolicial -and it also detaches from his previous novels- because the detective gets a criminal punishment for femicidal who murdered prostitutes, triumphing over corrupt authorities.

  • UNA MUCHACHA MUY BELLA BY JULIÁN LÓPEZ, OR THE
           REDEMPTIVE GESTURE OF WRITING

Abstract: This article focusses on th aspects that make Julián López's novel Una muchacha muy bella (2013) so peculiar. First, we will examine how this text compares to the stories written by the post-dictatorial Argentine "second generation". Then we will look into the strategies used by the narrator to cope with the trauma of his mother's disappearance, where ellipsis, which in turn leads to compensating techniques, seems particularly noticeable. Finally, we will focus on a number of interventions of the text -such as the poeticization of experience and the importance attached to reading- that make it go against the flow and destabilize certain predominant practices in the contemporary literary field.

  • NARRATIVE TRANSCULTURATION: MODERNIZING PROGRAMMATIC
           UTOPIA

This article builds the historic crossing of the narrative transculturation concept proposed by Angel Rama. The analysis is based, methodologically, in the examination of the discrepancy that occurs between the theoretical proposition and its reception. Throughout the analysis also reflections emerged around narrative trans-culturation contrast to other cultural metaphors contemporary to the formulation of the uruguayan literary critic, such as Calibán (Fernández Retamar), Malandraje (Candido), Fuera de lugar (Schwarz), Nacionalismo diferencial (De Campos), Filtragem (Bosi) y Literaturas heterogéneas (Cornejo Polar).

  • THE AUTOFICTION: A THEORETICAL APPROACH. BETWEEN THE RHETORICAL OF MEMORY
           AND THE WRITING OF SOUVENIRS

Abstract: Through four sections, this paper would realize a theoretical approach to autofiction taking into account the actual state of the investigation about the matter and laying networks to others theoretical lines that would allow us to go further in the analysis. The main hypothesis that articulates the text is that from the differences between "the memory's rhetorical" and "the writing of souvenirs", the new genre proposes the strengthening of the ambiguous character of the second, in behalf of the systematic one of the first.

  • FROM SYMBOL TO METONYMY THROUGH KAFKA: MUNDO ANIMAL BY
           ANTONIO DI BENEDETTO

Abstract: This paper proposes a reading of Mundo Animal by Antonio Di Benedetto regarding animal stories of Franz Kafka. This reading mostly follows the interpretative line that Deleuze-Guattari have opened in the work of the Czech writer. The animal in Di Benedetto has predominantly been read as a metaphor for the human. Its symbolism, as a sense that goes beyond the fable, allegory and fantasy, has blocked the possibility of a non-metaphoric reading: to consider the animal becoming man and the man becoming an animal. This paper proposes a reading that restores the movement of imagination to the tales of Mundo animal:the one that breaks down the metaphorical game into a metonymic dynamic that makes the animal a literal feature of the human.

  • CONJECTURES ABOUT LANGUAGE, POETICAL EXPERIMENTATION: FROM BORGES
NARRATIVE TO THE WORK OF HUIDOBRO, VALLEJO, AND GIRONDO

Abstract: This article poses an approach to Borges short narrative from critique of language perspective, in order to connect the view of this author with the poetical work of Huidobro, Vallejo, and Girondo. While the Argentinian writer explores language insufficiencies and develops hypothetical ways to restore its expressive capacity, the poets just mentioned experiment and modify language, deploying verbal techniques which are directly related to Borges ideas.

  • HOMO FEMINAE LUPUS: THE REPRESENTATION OF AN ANTHROPOPHAGIC CITIZENSHIP IN
           POST-COUP CHILEAN POETRY

Abstract: Different poems published in Chile after 1973 represent the authoritarian State as an anthropophagic Leviathan whose government devours the citizens. These writings imagine the city as a cattle ranch or as a poultry house, both populated with carnivorous animals that decimate the community. The political violence executed by the State is figured as a predatory practice and, thus, these texts enunciate the end of an illustrated Republic and the regression towards a barbarian society. Homo femi-nae lupus, poets, also, postpone their virility as they create transvestite poetic voices to symbolize the dictatorial consumption as a castration performed over the political agency of people and its speech.
