  • New Trends in Wireless Communication: A Comparative Analysis and Study on
           Li-Fi and Wi-Fi Technology (Strength, Security, Privacy and the Future)

    • Abstract: Background and Objective: Li-Fi is the next revolution of wireless technology. Light fidelity (Li-Fi) is a groundbreaking technology that utilizes visible light spectrum to unlock the capacity at which to transmit data at 10 times the speed of wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi). This study explores the similarities and differences between Li-Fi and Wi-Fi technology, while attempting to understand and study the factors of Li-Fi’s strengths, security and privacy implications and what it means for the future of wireless communications. Materials and Methods: The data was collected from the previous studies on Wi-Fi technology and Li-Fi technology relating to their operational mechanism with wireless networking. Also features of Wi-Fi and Li-Fi network were investigated. In addition to above, a comparative study for Wi-Fi and Li-Fi was done to evaluate their performance relating to data transmission, strength, security and privacy. Also features of Wi-Fi and Li-Fi network were considered and compared for network efficacy. Results: Wi-Fi operates on the radio spectrum and uses radio waves to transmit data, unlike Li-Fi. Wi-Fi and Li-Fi both can provide optimum level services to work together to provide the users with the best speeds, allowing them to download larger files faster and stream movies with interruptions. Conclusion: The Li-Fi technology is now developed into a ubiquitous system technology with innovative networking capabilities for universal application to provide a variety of device platforms for high-speed internet communications. This study showed that Li-Fi technology is an appropriate alternative to Wi-Fi technology. Although Li-Fi technology does not use any radio frequencies, but it provides safer, greener and cheaper technology. This LI-Fi technology provides users with better security measures, capacity and availability as compared to Wi-Fi. The future implications of Li-Fi include its application in different fields such as industries, medicine, education and other regions requiring further exploration.

  • Spectroscopic Investigation of 7-Nitro-6-phenyl-1,6,7,7a-
           tetrahydro-spiro[indeno[1,2-b]quinoxaline-11,5-pyrrolo[1,2-c]
           [1,3]thiazole] Crystal

    • Abstract: Background and Objective: The crystal structure of 7’-Nitro-6’-phenyl-1’,6’,7’,7a’-tetrahydro-spiro[indeno[1,2-b]quinoxaline-11,5’-pyrrolo[1,2-c][1,3]thiazole](NPTSIPT) crystal was recently reported by authors group. The main objective of the present study was to analyze the vibrational spectra of title compound. So it was crystallized by slow evaporation method and characterized by the single crystal XRD, FT-IR, FT-Raman and UV-Visible spectroscopy analysis. Materials and Methods: The raw materials used for this crystallization are benzene-1, 2-diamine, 1H-indene-1, 2, 3-trione, thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid, methanol, chloroform and trans-β-nitro styrene which were purchased from Sigma Aldrich Company through local scientific companies in Tamil Nadu, India. The crystals were obtained by the slow evaporation method using the chloroform as a solvent. Results: Using X-ray diffractometer, the unit cell parameters and space group of title crystal was obtained. The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectroscopic techniques have been used to identify the vibrational modes of compound. The optical property was analyzed by UV-Visible spectroscopy. Conclusion: The single crystal XRD study revealed that the title compound belongs to triclinic crystal system with centro symmetric space group P1̄. The vibrational spectra have been investigated by FT-IR, FT- Raman spectroscopic techniques to elucidate the various functional groups present in the molecule. The optical property was analyzed by UV-Visible spectroscopy which showed that the grown crystal has high transparency in the entire visible region. Due to the wide variety of biomedical applications in biological and pharmaceutical fields, the modified quinoxaline structure of title compound is considered for study in this present research.

  • Preparation and Characterization of Hydrothermal Activated Carbon from
           Banana Empty Fruit Bunch with ZnCl2 Activation for Removal of Phenol in
           Aqueous Solution

    • Abstract: Background and Objective: Banana empty fruit bunch is a solid waste. It was easily found in large quantity and good for activated carbon precursor. The activated carbon banana empty fruit bunch was characterized and used for removal of phenol in solution. This study was conducted to produce activated carbon from banana empty fruit bunch. Materials and Methods: Preparation of activated carbon was conducted using zinc chloride activation under hydrothermal carbonization at 200°C. Its application was used for removal of phenol with different adsorption factors such as pH, contact time, concentration and adsorbent dosage. Results: Nitrogen adsorption desorption isotherm curve clearly showed Type IV with hysteresis loop relating with the presence of mesopores. The BET and Langmuir surface area were 46.304 and 69.166 m2 g–1, respectively. Surface chemistry exhibited more oxygen functional groups. Morphology exposed irregular pores and most of them were closed by the presence of zinc, silicon and other elements. The equilibrium adsorption were calculated by the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models. The Freundlich isotherm value showed a goodness-of-fit line with a correlation coefficient, R2 value 0.9958 which was more favorable adsorption than those in the Langmuir adsorption. Conclusion: The banana empty fruit bunch activated carbon exhibited predominantly heterogeneous surfaces with multisite pores and was effective for removal of phenol.

  • Dielectric Relaxation Analysis of Chemical Solid Electrolyte Lithium
           Aluminum Titanium Phosphate

    • Abstract: Background and Objective: The study of relaxation and ionic conductivity behavior of conducting materials comes to be a significant area of research interest due to their potential application in electronic devices. The objective of the present study was to investigate the dielectric relaxation property of lithium aluminum titanium phosphate Li1.5Ti1.5 (PO4)3 with NASICON-type structure. Materials and Methods: The material was prepared by conventional solid state technique, while characterization was carried out using X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and impedance spectroscopy (IS) analysis technique. The structure and phase composition of the material was indicated by XRD analysis. Temperature and frequency dependence of AC conductivity and dielectric relaxation behavior were obtained at different temperatures from 30-280°C within the frequency range of 40 Hz to 1 MHz. Results: The AC conductivity was observed to be frequency-independent in the low frequency region and frequency-dependent at higher frequency region (10 KHz to 1 MHz). For dielectric permittivity analysis, the dielectric constant ε’ and dielectric loss ε” were found to increase at low frequency and decrease as frequency increased at all temperatures. The calculated AC conductivity of 6.61×10–4 (Ωm)–1 was observed at room temperature (30°C). The relaxation energy (Ea) of 0.21 eV was obtained from electrical modulus formalism. Conclusion: The synthesized sample Li1.5Ti1.5Al0.5 (PO4)3 indicated two relaxation processes, in each relaxation the peaks shifted to higher frequency as the measuring temperature increased.

  • Halogen Substituted Indeno Quinoxaline Derivative Crystal: A Spectroscopic
           Approach

    • Abstract: Background and Objective: Quinoxaline derivatives shown antibacterial, antiviral and anticancer properties which have received considerable interest due to their biological properties. Thus the halogen substituted indeno quinoxaline derivative hetero cyclic compound of 6’-(3-bromo phenyl)-7’-nitro-1’, 6’, 7’, 7a’-tetrahydro-3’ H-spiro[indeno[1, 2-b]quinoxaline-11, 5’-pyrrolo[1,2-c]thiazole] (BPNTSIPT) has been crystallized by slow evaporation method and characterized by FT-IR, FT-Raman and UV-Visible spectroscopy analyzes. Materials and Methods: Colourless block shaped crystals were obtained from slow evaporation method by recrystallization of synthesized compound with ethanolic solution. Benzene-1, 2-diamine, 1H-indene-1, 2, 3-trione, thiazolidine-4-carboxylic acid, methanol, chloroform and trans-β-bromo nitrostyrenes are the raw materials used for this crystallization. Results: The complete vibrational FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra were interpreted in terms of functional group wavenumbers. The optical property of the title compound was analyzed by UV-Visible spectroscopy study. The crystal has the maximum absorbance peaks at 267, 347 and 369 nm. Conclusion: The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra were studied and the functional group assignments of title compound have been seen to be in good agreement with the corresponding results in the literature. The title crystal has 4.3 eV optical band gap, this showed that it is a predictable dielectric material. Due to the wide variety of biomedical applications of modified quinoxaline structure in biological and pharmaceutical fields, it was taken to study and analyzed in this present work.

  • On Exponentiated Skewed Student T Error Distribution on Some Volatility
           Models: Evidence of Standard and Poor-500 Index Return

    • Abstract: Background and Objective: Error distributions were found to be very useful in volatility modeling financial time series. To this end, several error distribution innovation were proposed for estimating the true parameters of volatility models in term of fitness and forecast as a results of excess leptokurtic presence in financial stock market trigger by economic crises and wars etc. The aim of this study was to propose new class of error distributions using class of exponentiated distribution method for fitness and forecasting performance of volatility models. Materials and Methods: A daily returns data from standard and poor 500 (S and P500) index return from the period of 2007-2017 were used to validate the new error distribution and Jarque-Bera (JB), ADF test, ARCH effect test were used to validate the assumption of volatility models, maximum likelihood (ML) methods were used to estimate the parameters of the volatility models under five error innovation distribution. Results: From the obtained results, it was observed that TGARCH and APARCH model outperformed in term of best fitness and forecasting performance under the proposed error innovation distribution. Conclusion: This study will enable a better understanding of error innovation distribution in improvement of volatility models.
