En futuros estudios se recomienda realizar adaptaciones de la escala con muestras más amplias y representativasAmong the available instruments for measuring self-esteem, Rosenberg’s scale has proven to be a reliable and valid instrument for different stages of development such as adolescence and adulthood. The main purpose of the current study is to assess the psychometrics properties of this scale in older adults from Mexico City. The non probabilistic sample was made up of 220 older adults, with an age range of 60-88 years (M = 68.8, SD = 6.8). The results indicate that the scale has a total Cronbach’s alpha of .73, an explained variance equal to 52% and an adequate factorial structure. The Rosenberg’s self-esteem scale has appropriate psychometric criteria to measure self-esteem in older adults of Mexico City. The adaptation of Rosenberg’s self-esteem scale is recommended for future studies with larger and more representative samples

Los resultados sugieren la existencia de baja prevalencia de estrés postraumáticoThe preliminary study in nature aims to describe the levels of post-traumatic stress symptoms and subjective stress in a sample of 149 college students from Copiapó, Chile. A cross-comparative associate strategy with natural groups was used. A brief sociodemographic survey and two instruments were applied: Severity Scale Symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Impact Event Scale Revised (EIE-R). Outof the total sample, reslts show that 2% have symptoms of post-traumatic stress; 85% have symptoms of medium impact intensity to the event and 13.4% have severe symptoms of subjective stress. Significant differences were found in the scores of the scales depending on the varying degree of emotional impact: PTSD, F(4, 144) = 17.81, p < .001 and IES-R, F(4, 144) = 17.96; p < .001; and grade of material loss: PTSD, F(5.143) = 3.20, p < .01 and IES-R, F(5.143) = 3.26; p < .01. No differences in scores were found according to gender. These results suggest low prevalence of PTSD

It was found that these perceptions are framed by traditional and patriarchal discourses that create indecision about staying close to their family, with a more traditional draft of lifestyle, or migrate to the city and expand their possibilities of working life, trying to improve life quality, facing changes and new customs considered as very different and uncertain and little overseen in rural schools in the areaO artigo discute as percepções de um grupo de jovens mulheres do campo sobre a família, seus papéis e projeções de futuro a partir da análise de fotografias e de entrevistas realizadas no interior do Brasil.

Here we adapted Buckner’s Neighborhood Cohesion Test (Buckner 1998) for its use in Argentinean bases in Antartica by translating it from English to Spanish and adding Antarctic-specific terminology to it. From a sample of civilian and military personnel from two Antarctic bases (n = 100), a factor analysis revealed five Principal Factors. The main factor was used to construct a uni-dimensional scale of 18 items, with a Cronbach’s alpha of .907. Negatively keyed items that were discarded during the analysis suggest that denial of unrest is usually prevalent in Antarctic bases, and poses the need to generate tools to measure task-related aspects of group cohesion and use them for further studying social conflicts

In order to find them, the Job Satisfaction Scale (EST) and the Scale for Assessment of Quality of Work Life (Escala-QVT) were used. The study included 213 people, from several Brazilian states, of both sexes and with ages ranging between 17 and 71 years. In terms of education, 95.3% (203) of the sample had incomplete or complete college or undergraduate levels. The length of service in the organization ranged between one and 31 years and reported hierarchical levels ranged from top management of the organization to non-managerial positions. The results showed positive and statistically significant correlations between all IVO factors and all EST and Scale-QVT factors, with magnitudes ranging from weak to moderate for both scales, which can be taken as evidence for the validity of the instruments, especially for the case of IVO which was the focus of this studyO objetivo foi buscar evidências de validade para o Inventário de Valores Organizacionais (IVO) por meio de suas relações com outras variáveis.
