  • Tweetstorms and processes of social (de)legitimation in the Trump
           administration

    • Abstract: RESUMO: Neste artigo, argumentamos que os processos de (des)legitimação de determinadas práticas de linguagem, temáticas e perspectivas performatizadas pelos tweets do presidente americano Donald Trump consideram fortemente a condição de reflexividade dos atores dos mais diversos campos sociais. Nossa principal hipótese é a de que os tweets de Donald Trump mais repercutidos pela própria imprensa americana e pelos meios políticos são os que buscam legitimar, com base na autoridade pessoal do presidente, práticas discursivas antirreflexivas. De forma a dar conta dessa tarefa, observamos a produção dos tweets por parte de Donald Trump durante um período de 35 dias e classificamos tematicamente essa produção. Os resultados das análises mostram que, apesar de não serem repercutidos pela mídia comercial americana, a maioria dos tweets do presidente Donald Trump, mesmo cumprindo funções prototípicas, de fato legitimam toda uma agenda antirreflexiva.ABSTRACT: Through this article, we argue that the processes of social (de)legitimation of certain language practices, themes, and perspectives found in the current U.S. President Donald Trump’s tweets strongly demonstrate the reflexivity condition of the actors from the most diverse social fields. Our main hypothesis is that Donald Trump’s tweets discussed widely in the American press and in the political arena are those that seek to legitimize anti-reflexive communicative practices based on the President’s personal authority. We observed the ‘tweetstorms’ performed by President Donald Trump during a period of 35 days and we categorized this production according to its topics. The results of such analysis show that although most of President Donald Trump’s tweets are not publicized by the American commercial media, and although his tweets perform prototypical functions, they do legitimize an anti-reflexive agenda.
       
  • Processes of linguistic-cognitive (de)legitimation: notes on the field of
           pathologies

    • Abstract: RESUMO: Para desvelar certos processos de (des)legitimação linguística e cognitiva no campo das patologias neurolinguísticas, gostaríamos de definir os objetos da breve reflexão deste artigo: o escopo do termo afasia e o discurso sobre a doença de Alzheimer. Em uma e em outra encontram-se comprometidas, de várias formas, as capacidades comunicativas, sociocognitivas e interacionais dos indivíduos. Estigmatizadas de um modo ou de outro, ambas as patologias são marcadas por um incremento de inequidade de diversas ordens que se estabelecem em diferentes âmbitos da vida social. O conhecimento sobre os processos a que a linguagem faz referência abre espaço para mudanças epistêmicas e uma composição mais dinâmica de forças no jogo social.ABSTRACT: In order to discuss certain processes of linguistic and cognitive (de)legitimation in neurolinguistic pathologies, we would like to define the object of this short reflection: the scope of the aphasia term and the discourse on Alzheimer’s disease. It is worth noting that these two pathological contexts are marked by the growth of several orders of iniquity in different social life spheres. The knowledge of processes to which the language refers opens space for epistemic changes and for a greater dynamic of social forces in the social game.
       
  • Social legitimization in literary texts: status and ethos in western
           tragic drama

    • Abstract: RESUMO: Este artigo revisita a dramaturgia trágica ocidental sob a perspectiva da legitimação social. Analisando períodos distintos dessa tradição teatral, evidencia-se como a relação entre status social e ethos heroico regula o universo dramático, modelando efeitos estéticos, éticos e políticos condizentes com as distintas “estruturas de sentimento” percebidas na história do drama. Da tragédia antiga ao drama moderno, a legitimação social, fundamentando a construção de caracteres, perfaz funções inerentes aos gêneros em que se inscrevem os textos.ABSTRACT: This study reviews the Western tragic drama from the perspective of social legitimization. By analyzing distinct periods of this theatrical tradition, we show how social status and heroic ethos regulate the dramatic universe, modelling aesthetic, ethic and political effects according to different‘ structures of feeling’ perceived in the history of drama. From ancient tragedy to modern drama, social legitimization, determinant for character construction, accomplishes functions that are inherent to the genres in which texts are inscribed.
       
  • Authorship, community, and the belonging notion: practices of literary
           writing and its instances of social legitimation

    • Abstract: RESUMO: O presente artigo pretende refletir sobre o caráter relativo do processo de legitimação social promovido pelas práticas de escrita literária. Para tanto, mobiliza os conceitos de autoria e de comunidade, cuja relação parece se resolver em uma noção fluida de pertencimento. Com esse objetivo, convoca o conceito de discurso constituinte para pensar o estatuto do discurso literário, propondo, ao final, uma reflexão acerca do processo de legitimação social da literatura nas comunidades virtuais do mundo digital.ABSTRACT: The present article intends to reflect on the relative character of the social legitimation process promoted by the literary writing practices. Thus, it mobilizes the concepts of authorship and community, whose relationship seems to be solved in a fluid notion of belonging. Therefore, it summons the constituent discourse concept to consider the status of literary discourse. At the end, a reflection on the process of social legitimation of literature in virtual communities of the digital world is proposed.
       
  • Legitimation of local scientific policies due to the internationalization
           requirements of the university

    • Abstract: RESUMO: Os objetivos deste artigo são identificar e descrever estratégias de legitimação de políticas científicas voltadas para a internacionalização de uma universidade pública do interior de São Paulo, de 2009 a 2016. O corpus de referência é composto de documentos de divulgação dos discursos oficiais (locais e translocais) sobre o tema, de editais locais para financiamento de pesquisa e de chamadas para cursos e seminários direcionados para a inovação e a internacionalização da pesquisa. Os resultados da análise desse material mostram que as estratégias de internacionalização no período focalizado tiveram também a função de legitimação da gestão e de reprodução do poder institucional e, consequentemente, de reprodução da hierarquização de atores e discursos dentro da instituição. Nessa hierarquização, orientada por critérios e normas próprios dos ranqueamentos internacionais, manteve-se a posição historicamente marginal das ciências humanas, particularmente dos estudos da linguagem nos processos de definição e implementação das políticas locais de internacionalização, inclusive das políticas linguísticas.ABSTRACT: This article aims to identify and describe strategies to legitimize scientific policies towards the internationalization of a public university in São Paulo countryside, from 2009 to 2016. The reference corpus is comprised of the analysis of official discourses on the subject (local and translocal), local calls for research funding, and for courses and seminars focused on innovation and research internationalization. The results of the analysis of this material show that in internationalization strategies during such focused period also had the role of management and reproduction of institutional power and, consequently, the hierarchy reproduction of actors and discourses within the institution. The importance attributed to rankings, especially the international ones, was maintained in the formulation and legitimation of local stimulus or induction policies for innovation, research and international cooperation. And as far as hierarchies in the institutional field are concerned, criteria and norms peculiar to the international rankings, taken as impartial and objective, explain the historically marginal position of the human sciences, particularly of language studies, in the processes of definition and implementation of local internationalization policies, including language policies.
       
  • Legitimation processes of oral language in Portuguese language teaching:
           historical panorama and current challenges

    • Abstract: RESUMO: Proponho, neste texto, discutir alguns aspectos dos processos de legitimação da liguagem oral como objeto de saber escolar e, especialmente, de ensino da disciplina curricular língua portuguesa, na escola brasileira. Para tanto, apresento, inicialmente, um breve panorama do estatuto que a linguagem oral adquire no percurso histórico de constituição dessa disciplina. Em seguida, busco qualificar os modos com que esse estatuto se reconfigura no processo de produção do gênero textual debate oral por jovens estudantes do segundo ano do ensino médio de uma escola pública localizada em Belém, Pará, Brasil, em 2006. A descrição e análise de textos orais e escritos produzidos pelos alunos nesse processo permitem problematizar os desafios que a abordagem da linguagem oral coloca para as práticas efetivas de ensino, tendo em vista a finalidade curricular de promover a formação do aluno como cidadão crítico e participante ativo na vida social brasileira da atualidade.ABSTRACT: We propose, in this text, to discuss some aspects of the legitimation processes of oral language as an object of school knowledge and, especially, as an object of teaching the Portuguese language subject in the Brazilian school. Therefore, we initially present a brief overview of the statute that oral language acquires in the historical constitution course of this subject. Subsequently, we try to qualify the ways in which this statute reconfigures itself in the process of producing the textual genre oral debate by young high school students from a public school located in Belém, (Pará, Brazil), in 2006. The description and analysis of oral and written texts produced by students in this process allow us to problematize the challenges that the oral language approach poses to effective teaching practices, considering the curricular purpose of promoting the student’s formation as a critical citizen and active participant in today’s Brazilian social life.
       
  • Genres in didactic projects: processes of (des)legitimation in the
           discourse of undergraduate scholarship recipients of the Institutional
           Program of Initiation Teaching Scholarships

    • Abstract: RESUMO: Este artigo discute aspectos da seleção e legitimação de gêneros do discurso tomados como objeto de ensino na implementação de projetos didáticos de língua portuguesa, com base em duas entrevistas semiestruturadas com bolsistas de iniciação à docência do Programa Institucional de Bolsas de Iniciação à Docência (PIBID) em Letras da Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP). O intuito é gerar conhecimento situado acerca das práticas e dos saberes docentes no contexto do PIBID, a fim de problematizar as escolhas e apreciações feitas, à luz das demandas da formação universitária, que mobiliza princípios teóricos e pedagógicos específicos, e da escola, que tem suas próprias necessidades.ABSTRACT: This article discusses aspects of the selection and legitimation of discourse genres, which are understood as teaching objects, in the implementation of Portuguese Language didactic projects. The corpus is comprised of two semi-structured interviews with undergraduate scholarship recipients of the Institutional Program of Initiation Teaching Scholarship (PIBID) - Language Arts at University of Campinas (UNICAMP). The aim is to generate knowledge about the teaching practices in the context of PIBID, in order to problematize the choices and appreciations made, in light of the demands of university education, which mobilize specific theoretical and pedagogical principles, and school education, with its own demands.
