      Roberta T. Mayerle, Editor-in-Chief

      Roberta is a third-year J.D. student from Brazil, Germany and the United States. She holds an M.Sc. with distinction in Global Governance and Diplomacy from the University of Oxford and a B.A. summa cum laude from Sciences Po Paris. During her time at Harvard, Roberta worked at Cleary Gottlieb in New York and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank in Beijing. Prior to law school, she spent two years at The Boston Consulting Group in London. She also interned with the United Nations Development Programme in Beijing and the German Development Agency GIZ in Benin.

      Steven Wang
      Steven Wang, Editor-in-Chief

      Steven is a third-year J.D. student with roots in the east and west. Prior to law school, Steven completed a Master of Public Policy at Oxford University on the Rhodes scholarship and studied international relations at University of Toronto, Sciences Po, Paris and Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He also started a social enterprise, Yiqiao (益桥), that continues to operate. Steven has also spent time at Teach for China, Yenching Academy and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. He is a member of the Harvard Boxing club and will begin work at Cravath, Swaine & Moore.

      Jack Jaehyuk You
      Jack Jaehyuk You, Managing Editor

      Jack Jaehyuk You is a third-year J.D. student from Seoul, Korea.  Jack attended Harvard College, where he earned a B.A. in Social Studies.  Prior to law school, he served as a foreign affairs officer in the Korean Air Force.  Besides working with the submissions in ILJ, he serves the Vice President of the Board of Student Advisers and was formerly a board member of APALSA and In Vino Veritas.  He has spent his summers at the New York Attorney General’s Office and at WilmerHale D.C.

      Daniel Zaleznik
      Daniel Zaleznik, Managing Editor

      Daniel is a third-year J.D. student from the Boston Area. After receiving his M.A. in global governance from UMass Boston, Daniel worked for four years as an advisor to Pacific Island States at the United Nations on matters related to oceans, climate change and sustainable development. At HLS, Daniel is interested in public international law and the Law of the Sea, and participated in the Jessup International Moot Court Competition.

      Beier is a third-year J.D. student from Shanghai, China. She attended the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, where she received a B.A. in Honors History. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action, cum laude, from Sciences Po Paris. Prior to law school, Beier worked on international human rights research and advocacy at the Coalition for the International Criminal Court and the T.M.C. Asser Institute in The Hague. She will begin work at Debevoise & Plimpton in New York.

      Shuyu Sun, Features Editor

      Shuyu is currently a third-year J.D. student at Harvard Law School. Born and raised in Hangzhou, China, She graduated from Tsinghua University in Beijing with a Bachelor’s Degree in English. She also spent one semester at Harvard College as a visiting student. In her 1L summer, Shuyu worked as a judicial intern at the District Court for the District of Columbia.

Prior to law school, she worked for a refugee legal aid NGO in Egypt, and in program management for a refugee humanitarian organization in Uganda. Carla is a joint-degree student with the MPA program at the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University, where she studies International Development. Her interests are in international humanitarian law, international arbitration, U.S. immigration law, and refugee law.

      Yixian is a second-year J.D. student from Beijing, China. Yixian spent her undergraduate years at Peking University, where she obtained her first law degree in 2018. Before coming to HLS, she interned with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and the international arbitration team of a major Chinese law firm. At Harvard, Yixian has been involved in the Harvard International Arbitration Law Students Association and Asian Pacific American Law Students Association.

      Ji Soo Janet Park
      Ji Soo Janet Park, Community Development Chair

      Janet is a second-year J.D. student from New Jersey. Janet attended Columbia University, where she received a B.A. in East Asian Studies in 2016. Prior to law school, she spent three years working at the U.S. Department of Justice in the Antitrust Division and in the Office of Legal Policy in Washington, D.C. At Harvard, Janet is involved in the Harvard Graduate Council, Law and International Development Society, and Women’s Law Association.

      Emma Willems
      Emma Willems, Finance Chair

      Emma is a second-year J.D. student from Paris, France. Emma attended Dartmouth College, where she received a B.A. in History and Economics in 2015. Prior to law school, she spent four years working at Cambridge Associates in Boston, MA, first in the investment advisory division and then in Venture Capital Research. At Harvard, Emma is involved in Harvard Law Entrepreneurship Project and the Women’s Law Association.

      Yang Ding, Symposium Chair

      Yang is a second-year J.D. student from Shanghai who is currently based in LA. Yang attended Swarthmore College, where she majored in Philosophy and Classical Studies. At HLS, Yang is involved in the ILJ and APALSA. She spends her free time imagining a life without law school and writing for The New Yorker.

      Siqi Zhao, External Affairs Chair

      Siqi is a second-year J.D. student from Chengdu, China. Siqi is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, where she majored in International Relations. Prior to law school, she worked in Beijing as a market consultant. At Harvard, Siqi is involved in Harvard Defenders, China Law Association, and Coalition of International Students and Global Affairs.

      Tyler Kohring
      Tyler Kohring, Communications Chair

      Tyler is a second-year J.D. student from Utah. Tyler attended the University of Utah, where he received a B.A. in Finance and a B.A. in Accounting in 2017. Prior to law school, Tyler studied Chinese law and culture at Fudan University in Shanghai, China as a Confucius Scholar. At Harvard, Tyler is involved with the Harvard Plaintiffs’ Law Association, China Law Society, and is currently working as a research assistant for Professor Jesse Fried.
