  • Idealisme Sosial Kemasyarakatan dalam Kitab Hidayatus Shalikin karangan
           Syaikh Abdus Shamad Al-Palimbani

    • Authors: Arafah Pramasto
      Pages: 1 - 18
Abstract: Sufism is a kind of appreciation of the esoteric dimension of Islam which is often considered a destructive and distorted teaching. A sharp criticism was raised by Hasan Hanafi, a modern Muslim intellectual from Egypt, according to Sufism arising from the despair of the opponents of the absolutism of the Umayyads, and this Sufism had no social contribution. However, in Indonesia there is a cleric from Palembang named Shaykh Abdus Shamad Al-Palimbani who adheres to the Neo-Sufism style with its characteristic namely activism in collective life. This article seeks how to uncover the form of social idealism in the book Hidayatus Shalikin by Shaykh Abdus Shamad Al-Palimbani in the 18th century. The research methodology used is the historical method, heuristic, critical interpretation, and Historiography. The results of this study prove that Shaykh Abdus Shamad's social idealism includes several aspects, namely universal compassion in the morality of the people, rejecting violence and oppression, clean assets from acts of wrongdoing, and forbidding lies and expressions of hatred in the community.

  • Karakteristik Historiografi Sirah Nabawiyyah Muhammad Quraish Shihab

    • Authors: Ahmad Choirul Rofiq, Kayyis Fithri Ajhuri, Abd. Qohar
      Pages: 19 - 46
Abstract: Sirah Nabawiyyah has an important position in the viewpoint of Indonesian Muslim scholars, unfortunately specific works of the Prophet biography are rarely found in Indonesia. As a well-known interpreter of the Qur'an, M. Quraish Shihab has a historiographical work entitled Membaca Sirah Nabi Muhammad Saw dalam Sorotan al-Qur’an dan Hadis-Hadis Shahih that discusses critically about the figure of the Prophet. This library research with historical method analyzes the background of writing, sources of writing, and historical explanations contained in his work. Finally it was concluded that the book was written in accordance with the need of Indonesian Muslims to discuss the history of the Prophet Muhammad critically. The references consist of the Qur'an, the Prophet traditions, the books of Sirah Nabawiyyah, and other relevant books. Because it was written by a commentator of the Qur'an, the verses of the Qur'an are not only quoted with textual translations, but are accompanied by in-depth explanations so that its historical explanations are almost similar to interpretations of the Qur'an. It is able to explain in detail the life of the Prophet with critical analysis and illustrative pictures. In addition, its explanations greatly emphasize the humanity of the Holy Prophet. Therefore this work is not excessive in displaying the Prophet miracles or extraordinary things.

  • Reformulasi al-Qawā’id al-Uṣūliyyah al-Tashrī’iyyah dalam
           Pengembangan Fiqih Kontemporer

    • Authors: Iffatin Nur, M. Ngizzul Muttaqin, Ali Abdul Wakhid
      Pages: 47 - 68
Abstract: As a first step in extracting Islamic law, namely through the study of texts, qawa'id al-uṣūliyyah al-tasyri’iyah in this way has an important position in the discourse of studying Islamic law. Unfortunately, in today's situation, al-qawā‘id al-uṣūliyyah al-tashrī'iyyah seems to be ruled out. This position is taken by ijtihād models based on a progressive approach rather than an approach to the text. This study is a discourse analysis using a qualitative method with a normative approach. In this study, the author examines the concept of al-qawā‘id al-uṣūliyyah al-tashrī'iyyah which is then formulated in several issues and problems of contemporary Islamic law. The findings in this study indicate that: first, the al-qawā'id al-uṣūliyyah al-tashrī'iyyah model in determining and establishing Islamic law places more emphasis on the substance of fundamental values in Islamic law, second, reformulation of al-qawā'id al -uṣūliyyah al-tashrī'iyyah in the settlement of contemporary Islamic law puts forward the protection of mafsadat rather than the taking of maṣlaḥah.

  • Keterlibatan Tuanku dalam Pergesekan Identitas Adat, Agama, dan Negara di
           Minangkabau

    • Authors: Zelfeni Wimra
      Pages: 69 - 94
Abstract: Tuanku in Minangkabau culture is a reflection of how these institutions are involved in the nation-state political process and religious mission. This article describes his involvement in the endless identity friction between state, religious and adat actors. Data were collected using a social network analysis method that highlights Tuanku's identity through a genealogical approach. In addition, interviews were optimized to confirm prior critical sociological research. The formulation of al-'urf is also used to interpret the crossing of normative and cultural texts. The results of this study indicate that Tuanku's involvement in Minangkabau largely determines the quality of the success of the state and religion in realizing their political and missionary strength. The implication is to recognize important points that are known in the friction of these three elements of identity, so that they can be useful for the development of knowledge in the field of Islamic law and social science.

  • Makna Religiusitas bagi Kaum Waria

    • Authors: Benny Prasetiya, M Usman, M. Faisyal Syamsi
      Pages: 95 - 108
Abstract: Understanding in Islam generally says that Waria's behavior and orientation are cruel and condemned, but on the other hand they need the existence of religion in their lives, this fact makes religious transgenders experience psychological doubts and psychological conflicts between their choice to become transsexuals with internalization of religious teachings. that they get in religion. This research will discuss how the meaning of religiosity for transvestites' This type of research is descriptive qualitative using a phenomenological approach, from 6 (six) transvestites, researchers took 4 (four) transvestites, namely Yt, Mn, Li, and Nu. The taking of this object uses a purposive sample and also uses recommendations from key informants in the field. The results of this study indicate that Transvestites still believe in religion and all its teachings. For Waria that their current existence is not their will but the will of the Creator. This is proven by their carrying out all religious rituals. It's just that they still can not be a normal human being in general who likes other types. Although religion forbids the existence of waria, it is clear that they continue to respect religion and try not to pollute religion.
