  • Bharat to India: a case of connecting IFFCO brand with generation Y
    • Authors: Shampy Kamboj, Mayank Yadav, Zillur Rahman
      Pages: 415 - 427
Abstract: In the era of marketing, urban 'youth' category or generation Y is more attractive than any other social category. There is a lot of discussion about the potential of generation Y of India in the developed economies. Various companies have realised the immense potential of this youth category and are interested to target this segment. This is important as generation Y dominates India. Generally, a trend is observed that companies target rural market as two third of the total population in India is concentrated in rural areas. There is a lack of evidence about the reverse trend. This is supposed to be the first case that focuses on the reverse trend; i.e., rural to urban with the help of a case of Indian fertiliser giant, IFFCO. The case discusses about various communication and branding strategies of IFFCO to target generation Y.

  • The impact of compassion on organisational identification: mediating
           role of positive emotion
    • Authors: Deepak Subba, M.K. Rao
      Pages: 428 - 440
Abstract: In recent years, compassion has attracted the attention of organisational psychologists as there is a huge scope of exploring the domain of compassion in the literature on organisational behaviour. This study fills the gap by investigating the impact of compassion on organisational identification by conducting a survey among the employees working in the financial sector of India. For testing the theoretical model, a sample of 454 respondents was used, and for analysing the data, confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modelling were employed. The findings indicated that compassion directly affects organisational identification, but indirectly impacts through the mediating effect of positive emotion. The theoretical model as well as all the propositions was supported, and depending on the finding, we proposed both the practical and theoretical implications. Managers need to develop compassionate acts among members in the workplace, which in turn will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of an organisation.

  • The impact of perceived organisational support on organisational
citizenship behaviour: the mediating role of organisational trust
    • Authors: Ali Nasr Isfahani, Ali Rezaei
      Pages: 441 - 458
Abstract: This study examines the relationships between perceived organisational support (POS), organisational citizenship behaviour (OCB) and organisational trust; and the mediating role of organisational trust on perceived organisational support and OCB. The population under study were all experts from National Iranian Drilling Company among whom 158 questionnaires were distributed. Of these 158 questionnaires, 146 questionnaires were completed; of these completed questionnaires, six were excluded, because many items were left unanswered. Finally, 140 questionnaires were analysed. Results showed that there is a positive significant relationship between perceived organisational support and OCB and organisational trust. There is a positive significant relationship between OCB and organisational. Also, the meditating role of organisational trust is supported in relation to the perceived organisational support and OCB. The results of PLS show that the baseline model is supported.

  • Exploration of qualitative success factors of innovative e-business
startups: blue ocean strategy versus dynamic capabilities
    • Authors: Ali Nasr Isfahani, Ali Rezaei
      Pages: 459 - 478
Abstract: The aim of this research was to test a new generation of strategic management theories to discover the most appropriate qualitative factors for an innovative e-startup assessment and produce a probability formula in order to estimate the chances of success of any other innovative e-business. The qualitative factors were analysed against a sample of 30 innovative successful e-businesses startups which were founded after 2004. The research identified several factors: value curve divergence and exceptional buyer utilities of innovative products as well as dynamic capabilities to seize opportunities which are more correlated with a startup's success than others and therefore are more reliable as assessment criteria. Multiple regression analysis has shown that the set of all researched independent and moderating variables is strongly correlated with a start up success and can predict e-business successful performance in more than 80% of the cases.

  • Lean Six Sigma and innovation: comparison and relationship
    • Authors: Ali Nasr Isfahani, Ali Rezaei
      Pages: 479 - 493
Abstract: The success of an organisation is directly related to the effectiveness of its creation of innovative products or processes and its implementation of continuous improvement (CI) to improve such products or processes. For any manufacturing or service organisation, lean Six Sigma (LSS) and innovation are important approaches. Effective understanding of these methodologies and their relationship will provide an industry with a competitive advantage. Many industrial organisations today are using LSS as the core for their improvement efforts. Also, an increasing number of organisations are setting up programs to transform their culture into an innovative culture. There is a lot of dispute about how they relate to each other, what the common grounds are, as well as their differences. As such, the relationship between LSS and innovation, as well as the development of an integrated model for both, are worth further investigation.

Abstract: In the present era, governments across the world are focusing on new innovative methods for financing projects, developing infrastructure and delivering quality services. Public-private partnerships (PPPs or 3Ps) are an instrument to collaborate the strengths of both public and private sectors. One of the most important areas of PPP study in the present time is its critical success factors (CSFs). This work aims to systematically evaluate the research work on the CSFs for implementing PPPs. The concept of CSFs shows an innovative way to categorise certain factors whose presence in a project is expected to make the project successful. The current paper highlights 14 main CSFs which are considered as significant for any PPP project. Each factor includes a number of success sub-factors. Finally, a framework for determinants of PPP is developed based on literature review.

Abstract: This study attempted to examine the factors affecting customer's attitude towards purchasing green packaged food products. This study finds out how much environmental problems are considered by the customers in purchasing process and what kind of factors are more important that affecting the customer's behaviour while making decisions towards green packaged food products. The primary data was collected through questionnaires and quantitative analytical technique is used to analyse the results. The outcome of the survey shows that customers are ready to pay more money for green packaged food products, but it has been observed that the price of green packaging is more than conventional packaging. Research shows that when customers make decisions they also think about other factors related to the product. The study concludes by using the analytical measures to know the factors which affect the customer's purchasing behaviour and to promote the market of green packaged food products.

  • Are tax incentives beneficial to support corporate performance in digital
           TV industry?
    • Authors: Yunita Anwar, Maya Safira Dewi, Martin Surya Mulyadi
      Pages: 536 - 545
Abstract: The importance of digital TV in most countries has been acknowledged by wide usage of digital TV throughout the world. In order to support the development of this industry, it is a common practice that government provide tax incentives. While major prior research in tax incentives focus on the impact of tax incentives on economic development, this research focuses on the impact on corporate performance. This research studies digital TV tax incentives in Canada, Indonesia, and the United States of America (USA). Using EGARCH econometric model on the largest digital TV corporations in these three countries, this research finds that tax incentives are beneficial to support corporate performance with some exception. Tax incentives are found to be less effective in smaller corporations.
