  • Mathematically Creative Thinking Abilities Students of Elementary School
on Learning Inquiry Training Based on Learningstyle

    • Authors: Isna Muhammad Fathoni, Isnarto Isnarto, Sri Haryani
      Pages: 121 - 128
Abstract: Elementary school students need to be taught mathematics to equip logical, analytical, systematic, critical, creative, and cooperative thinking skills. Result of the UNESCO 2016 survey found that the creative thinking ability of students in elementary education level in Indonesia is low. This study has two purposes. First, to analyze the effectiveness of the inquiry training model on the mathematical learning material counting integer operations. Second, to analyze the creative thinking ability of 5th grade students based on learning style. Mixed methods with concurrent triangulation strategy was carried out in 5B grade Islamic Elementary School Al Madina Semarang with the number of students are 29. The next step is selected the subject of research is 6 students by purposive sampling. The data analysis technique used is the assisted appeal SPSS 16.00. Data validity technique through qualitative method of verification and source triangulation. The results show that model inquiry training is effective at learning mathematics class 5B. This model is effective by fulfilling three conditions. First, the percentage of mastery in the model inquiry training class reached 86%. Second, the average ability of mathematical thinking in the class of inquiry training is higher than the average in mind mapping class. The mean of inquiry training is 81.61 and mind mapping is 76.35. Third, the implementation of inquiry training activities including good category. Students with kinesthetic learning styles included in the category of students are creative and creative enough. Students with visual learning styles included in the category of students are less creative and not creative. Students with auditory learning styles included in the category of creative and highly creative students. This research is useful to enrich the sense of insight of the application of inquiry training model and know the classification of students' mathematical creative thinking ability based on the learning style.

  • Developing Photonovella Adventure Media to Improve Primary Students'
Storytelling of Place Where I Live Theme

    • Authors: Tyasmiarni Citrawati, Teguh Supriyanto, Tri Suminar
      Pages: 129 - 136
Abstract: The study aims to determine the characteristics and effectiveness of photonovella adventure media development for improving the storytelling skills with the place where I live as the theme in high-class students at elementary school. This study used a qualitative approach in the form of data development needs and quantitative in the form of test scores referring to the rubric of the assessment of storytelling skills. Trials were conducted twice, i.e. limited trials and implementation tests. The implementation test was conducted in grade 4 at three elementary schools. The result of this research is characteristic of development of photonovella adventure media has 3 principles based on aspect of development requirement, that is usage effect principle, content of story photonovella, media of story telling. The improvement of storytelling skills can be determined using normalized gain. The result of N-gain calculation showed that the value of g = 0.704, it means that there is a significant increase. The result shows tvalue is 16.616 and ttable is 1.67 which means that the media of photonovella adventure can be applied effectively. The conclusion is the media of photonovella adventure has 3 characteristic principles, and it is also effective for the improvement of storytelling skills.

  • Lagu Nusantara: Android Role Playing Game for Elementary School Music
           Learning

    • Authors: R. Gita Ardhy Nugraha, Totok Sumaryanto Florentinus, Kamsidjo Budi Utomo
      Pages: 137 - 145
Abstract: The decreasing of student’s interest and motivation in Indonesian’s traditional music learning caused by less varied of the learning process and the lack of student’s knowledge about Indonesian’s traditional song. The lack of the utilization of gadget like educational games in the learning process also causes the decreasing of student’s interest and motivation. This study aims to verify the effectiveness of “Lagu Nusantara” games through student’s interest and motivation in the music art learning, especially about Indonesian’s traditional song. The method that used in this study is a quantitative method with the post-test only control group design for an experimental model which supported by the observation of games that used by students. The research subject was 89 elementary students who divided into a control group and experimental group (45 students for the control group and 44 students for experimental group). The result, “Lagu Nusantara” as the game is sufficient to promote student’s interest and motivation in the music art learning process, especially about Indonesian’s traditional song. As supporting data, this research obtained observation data for student’s interest and motivation which are well in the category (Interest score = 89.44%; motivation score = 87.78%).

  • The Impact of Multiple Intelligences Approach through Quantum Teaching
Model toward The Scientific Attitude and Science Learning Outcomes in The
           Fourth Grade Students

    • Authors: Ika Tiara Ratnasari, Sri Wardani, Murbangun Nuswowati
      Pages: 146 - 154
Abstract: The background of this research is less optimal learning of science grade IV of elementary school in Tugu subdistrict semester I of academic year 2017/2018. Students have not shown a good scientific attitude so that science learning achievement is not optimal yet. The classical passing grade of science is still less than 85%. For the same case, other researchers have applied a quantum teaching model with multiple intelligences to improve learning outcomes. The aim of this research is to know the impact of multiple intelligences approach through quantum teaching model to scientific attitude and science learning outcomes in the  fourth grade student on plant part structure material. This research was conducted at the SDN Tugurejo 01 and the SDN Tugurejo 03 Semarang academic year 2016/2017. This research method is true experimental design with pretest-posttest control group design model. The sampling technique chosen is probability sampling with simple random sampling model. The result on scientific attitude of experimental class is 78,4% belongs to a good category while the passing grade of science learning is 87,9% with average score 81. Result on scientific attitude of control class 70,97% belongs to medium category while passing grade of science learning 81.3% with an average of 76. The conclusion of this study is learning by multiple intelligences approach through quantum teaching model more effective to improve scientific attitudes and science learning outcomes than learning by quantum teaching model.

  • Role of Learning Discipline in Mediating The Influence of Parent’s
           Parenting Towards Student’s Learning Achievement

    • Authors: Devika Wasiatul Aulia, Muhammad Khafid, Masturi Masturi
      Pages: 155 - 162
Abstract: The increasing of learning achievement is affected by internal and external factors. These factors are parent’s parenting and learning discipline. This research aims to analyze the role of learning discipline in mediating the effect of parent’s parenting towards student’s learning achievement. Population in this research is fifth-grade elementary students in the district of Kebonagung, Demak in year 2017/2018. The sampling technique used is random cluster sampling with two-stage cluster sampling. Data collection in this research use questionnaire, documentation, and observation of student’s learning discipline. The analysis result stated that there is the positive and significant effect of parent’s parenting through learning achievement (50.9%); learning discipline through student’s learning achievement (37.7%); and parent’s parenting through learning discipline (67.7%). We also found that there is an impact of learning discipline as the mediation of parent’s parenting through learning achievement (25.4%). This finding lead parent’s to more responsive towards problems that associated with parent’s parenting and learning discipline.
