  • RESILIENSI AKADEMIK MAHASISWA DOKTORAL

      Abstract: This study aimed to investigate how doctoral students had academic resilience to cope with various challenge in their study and completed the learning process with qualified dissertation. This research was motivated by a number of doctoral students who face serious problems in education. Because of the problems, the study periods of most of them were very long, and some students even experience a study failure. This study used qualitative approach. Participants consisted of six doctoral students in Faculty of Psychology Airlangga University who had successfully completed their study. Informations were collected twice using a study experience story form for the first round of collecting data, and indepth interview for the second round. All data analyzed by data driven thematic analyses technique. The result identified three major negative experiences of doctoral students that caused significant psychological effects. Those experiences are: (1) Problem in time management between roles; (2) Problem in relation with supervisor and examiner; and (3) Problem in research implementation. Two factors that contribute to individuals’ coping strategy to their negative experiences are: Perception to difficulties and the attitude of friends. With the influence of those factors, resilient student choose two categories of positive adaptation: (1) Prioritizing positive behavioral responses in stressful situations; and (2) Conducting personal adjustment within the individual.

  • Kontribusi Holistic Parenting dalam Pemecahan Masalah Tingkah Laku Remaja

      Abstract: Environmental factor is considered  as an important aspect of  adolescence behavior development. The environment begins from home as a first social environment for children.  Islamic literature has a concept of parenting rooted in the Al Quran and Al Hadith. We call this concept as Holistic parenting, which includes five dimensions: Qudwah hasanah (integrated role model), al adah (habituation), al mauidzah (effective advice), al mulahadzah (fairness in care and control), and uqubah wa ujaroh (proportional consequences). We aim to examine application of Holistic parenting on adolescent altruism and bullying.  Two hundred and twenty nine students from senior high school level were sampled in this study using incidental sampling technique. Holistic parenting scale,  Altruism Scale and My life at school checklist scale are used as  measuring tools to see the contribution of Holistic parenting on altruism and bullying. We found a significant positive correlation between Holistic parenting and altruism (r = 0.369, p <= 0.01); and a significant negative correlation between Holistic parenting and bullying (r = -0.255, p <= 0.01).   Regression analysis states that the role of Holistic parenting on altruism and bullying variability accounted for 13.6% and 6.1 % respectively.  We conclude that Holistic parenting has a significant role on enhancing adolescent altruism and preventing bullying.

  • Pemahaman Epistemologis dan Penghargaan terhadap Argumentasi pada Calon
           Mahasiswa

      Abstract: The cultivation of intellectual character is among the most important goals of higher education. This study highlights “argumentation value” as a disposition which could be seen as a part of intellectual character. The goal of the study is twofold: first, to describe the level intellectual value that university students exhibit at the beginning of their studies, and second, to test theoretical predictions regarding the association between epistemological understanding and intellectual values. To this end, a survey was conducted with 2229 new students (57% female, average age 17.9 years) who have been accepted at seven faculties in a university, but have not yet started their first semester. The findings show that a vast majority of the participants regard argumentation as a valuable activity in the context of making assessments, formulating problem solutions, decision making, and improvements of ideas. This represents valuable psychological resources which lecturers could capitalise on when engaging students in debates and other learning activities which call for critical thinking. With regards to the second goal, regression results indicate that contrary to predictions, epistemological understanding accounts for only a small amount of variance in students’ argumentation values.

  • Uji Reliabilitas dan Validitas Eksternal The Raven’s Standard
           Progressive Matrices

      Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi terkini mengenai reliabilitas dan validitas The Raven Standard Progressive Matrices (SPM) dalam konteks Indonesia. Dalam penelitian ini kami menggunakan data (N=583) yang telah tersedia, dengan rentang usia antara 13 – 61 tahun. Kami menggunakan metode Cronbach’s Alpha untuk menguji reliabilitas SPM dan metode validitas kriteria dengan the Culture Fair Intelligence Test (CFIT) sebagai alat ukur pembanding untuk menguji validitas eksternal dari SPM. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa SPM memiliki reliabilitas yang memuaskan, sebesar .84 (M = 47.20, SD = 6.06). Kemudian juga terbukti valid dengan validitas kriteria yang moderat (r(136) = .64, r2= .41, p < .01). Untuk penelitian selanjutnya, bisa dilakukan investigasi kegunaan diagnostik dari SPM dengan kelompok khusus, seperti kelompok individu cerdas istimewa dan kelompok individu dengan disabilitas inteligensi.

  • Influence of Experiential Learning Strategies to Self Regulated Learning
           of College Students

      Abstract: Self regulated learning is very important for all aspects of life special for academic dimension. This study aims to examine influence of experiential learning strategies to self regulated learning and components its of college students of elementary school teacher education. Hypotheses were tested: there are differences of self regulated learning, learning motivation, cognitive learning strategies, metacognitive regulation and resource management between experimental and control groups.Subjects were 40 for experimental and control groups of elementary school teacher education, Faculty of Tarbiya and Teaching of State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga. Two instruments used for data gathering: experiential learning module and self regulated learning scale. Multivariate analysis techniques were used to analyze data.Results show that there are significant differences of self regulated learning (F=18.213 and p<0.01), learning motivation (F=18.308 and p<0.01), cognitive learning strategies (F=15.427 and p<0.01), metacognitive regulation (F= 9.859 and p <0.01), and resource management (F=10.725 and p<0.01) between experimental and control groups. It means that experiential learning strategies influences self regulated learning of college students of elementary school teacher education.Keywords: experiential learning strategies, self regulated learning, college student of elementary school teacher education.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) untuk Menurunkan PTSD
           pada Korban Pelecehan Seksual di Yayasan Lembaga Perlindungan Anak D.I
           Yogyakarta

      Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh EMDR untuk menurunkan PTSD korban pelecehan seksual di YLPA (Yayasan Lembaga Perlindungan Anak) DIY (Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Karakteristik subjek penelitian adalah perempuan usia 17 tahun tergolong kategori remaja akhir, mengalami PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) akibat pelecehan seksual yang dilakukan oleh ayah kandungnya, sesuai dengan hasil screening menggunakan skala IES-R (Impact of event scale-Revised).Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan rancangan single case experimental(N=1) dengan desain A-B-A-Bwith Follow Up. Subjek mendapat perlakuan terapi EMDR sebanyak tujuh kali pertemuan. Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah terapi EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) dan variabel tergantung adalah PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder) korban pelecehan seksual.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya penurunan kategori PTSD, hal itu terlihat dari hasil pretest mendapat skor 35, setelah postest mengalami penurunan skor menjadi 4, dan pada saat dilakukan follow-up mengalami penurunan skor menjadi 3. Hasil penelitian didukung oleh hasil wawancara dan observasi yang menunjukkan subjek dapat mengelola emosinya dan mampu mengendalikan diri ketika melihat benda-benda yang menstimulasi traumanya dan subjek mampu menemukan keyakinan-keyakinan positif yang baru. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa EMDR mampu menurunkan PTSD korban pelecehan seksual di YLPA DIY. Dengan demikian, hipotesis penelitian ini diterima. Keyword : Terapi EMDR, PTSD pelecehan seksual

  • Pengembangan Model Sistem Peringatan Dini Konflik Menggunakan Prediktor
           Identitas Sosial

      Abstract: Penelitian pengembangan sistem peringatan dini konflik bertujuan melakukan pemodelan dengan prediktor identitas sosial terdiri dari kategorisasi, identifikasi kelompok, dan bias kelompok.Dalam rangka mencapai tujuan penelitian bahwa penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan memodifikasi tiga metode yaitu model struktural, type  sequential models, dan type conjunctual model. Adapun populasi penelitian adalah anggota Paguyuban Petani Lahan Pantai Kulon Progo. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian dengan proporsi area random sampling.  Responden berjumlah 279. Analisis model menggunakan second order confirmatory factor analysis menghasilkan temuan bahwa identitas sosial yang terdiri dari kategorisasi, identifikasi kelompok, dan bias kelompok terbukti menjadi prediktor konflik.Sesuai dengan kekhasan dari sistem peringatan dini dapat diberikan rekomendasi sebagai tindakan preventif agar konflik tidak berkembang menjadi manifes. Rekomendasi yang dapat diberikan adalah lebih memperhatikan dimensi bias kelompok karena memberi kontribusi terbesar sebagai pembentuk identitas sosial.  Hal tersebut menjadi pijakan untuk usaha pencegahan agar konflik dapat diselesaikan dengan baik dengan cara meminimalisir bias kelompok.  Tindakan pencegahan yang dilakukan adalah adanya  pihak luar yang mampu menjalin kerja sama dengan pihak petani. Kelompok dari luar bermanfaat sebagai bahan pembanding dengan kelompok luar. Kelompok dari luar merupakan kelompok yang menjadi reference bagi petani. Reference dari pihak luar ini yang dapat menurunkan bias kelompok.Kata kunci: Sistem Peringatan Dini Konflik, Identitas Sosial, Kategorisasi,                     Identifikasi Kelompok, Bias Kelompok
