  • Securing and Improving the Internet Architecture

    • Abstract: The information transfer protocol that supports the modern Internet with its hundreds of thousands of petabytes per month to billions of Internet users across the world was designed in 1981, and it lacks the capacity to properly ensure the security and stability of the Internet today. Features such as the prevention of network attacks, a large address space for the increasing number of devices, verification of the source of an Internet request, and so on are all absent from the current architecture. This paper seeks to review, summarize, and compare six proposals submitted to address the issues IP faces: the Accountable Internet Protocol, the Expressive Internet Architecture, MobilityFirst, Passport, StopIt, and the Traffic Validation Architecture. Finally, the paper details a protocol design that not only is feasible to adopt with the present infrastructure/computing power but also addresses some of the pressing issues of IP, with particular focus on the address space, mitigation of network attacks, and source verification.

  • AHP Method to Support Decision Making for Sustainability

    • Abstract: In these challenging times, finding a way to sustain the created value becomes a must. The fierce competition, the risk of disruption, the rise of customer awareness and the scarcity of resources, all these are few of many drivers that push companies to invest in sustainability. This paper is an attempt to enrich the literature about this subject. It mainly explores how to use the AHP method, a well-known multicriteria decision making technique, to decide about the right actions to implement, in order to reach sustainability. The paper is a continuity of a previous work that introduced a new framework that explained how companies could sustain their business models through information systems (IS). This approach was applied on a telecom operator, as a case study, to explain well how companies could choose the right actions to implement, in order to reach sustainability.

  • GMSM: A Design Method for Misinformation-Aware Social Media

    • Abstract: Misinformation is highly circulating on social media which harmfully affect users of these platforms and the online content value. Previous efforts to decrease misinformation distribution on social media have mainly focused on the development of misinformation detection algorithms. To extend these efforts, this paper adopts gamification techniques to minimize the spread of misinformation on social media and proposes a three-phase requirement engineering method for the design of a Gamified Misinformation-aware Social Media (GMSM). The method combines the strengths of well-known requirement engineering approaches in a sequence that offers software engineers better understanding of users’ requirements on the adoption of gamification to minimize the spread of misinformation on social media. This can lead to a better coverage of important users’ requirements thus, a better user satisfaction and a higher quality of online content.

  • A New Trend of Digital Healthcare in 3D Printed Medicines

    • Abstract: Three-dimensional ‎(‎3D) technique of restricting scrambling is changing the ways of drug design, labeling and ‎production in the area of ‎digital health. By combining digital and genetic techniques, Fused ‎Deposition Modeling (FDM) can manufacture ‎normalization systems. Consecutively, such a ‎method can allow for speedy improvements in the healthcare ‎systems, allowing the allocation ‎of medicines based on patient’s needs and requirements. So far, several 3D ‎based medicinal ‎goods have been marketed. These include the production of implants and several useful related ‎‎products for use in medical applications. Nevertheless, regulatory obstacles remain with ‎developing medicines. ‎This article reviews the latest FDM technology in medical and ‎pharmaceutical research, including a discussion of ‎the potential challenges in the field. ‎Emphasis has been paid on future developments needed for facilitating the ‎FDM integration ‎into dispensaries and clinics.‎

  • Arabic-to-Malay Machine Translation Using Transfer Approach

    • Abstract: Translation from/to Arabic has been widely studied recently. This study focuses on the translation of Arabic as a source language (SL) to Malay as a target language (TL). The proposed prototype will be conducted to map the SL ”meaning”with the most equivalent translation in the TL. In this paper, we will investigate Arabic-Malay Machine Translation features (i.e., syntactic, semantic, and morphology), our proposed method aims at building a robust lexical Machine Translation prototype namely (AMMT). The paper proposes an ongoing research for building a successful Arabic-Malay MT engine. Human judgment and bleu evaluation have been used for evaluation purposes, The result of the first experiment prove that our system(AMMT) has outperformed several well-regarded MT systems by an average of 98, while the second experiment shows an average score of 1-gram, 2-gram and 3-gram as 0.90, 0.87 and 0.88 respectively. This result could be considered as a contribution to the domain of natural language processing (NLP).
