This service searches the Tables Of Contents (TOCs) of the current issues of 18,899 journals that produce TOC RSS feeds. Journals that do not produce TOC RSS feeds are not searched by this service.

Searching

Start searching for TOCs from Search by entering a search query in the left hand side "Search" box and click "Go".

To search, type one or more keywords, or a phrase (delimited with double-quote characters (")) or use * for truncation (e.g engineer* to find engineer, engineering, engineers etc.) Check the "for Journals by Title or ISSN" option if you want to search for journals (this is the default search option). Check the "for Articles by Keywords" option if you want to search for articles by keywords found in the TOC articles.

Search Query

The system adds an AND between the keywords of your search query. For example: methods emulsion synthesis will be interpreted as methods AND emulsion AND synthesis.

To search for articles that have any of your keywords use OR. Example: methods OR emulsion OR synthesis
To search for exact phrases use double commas. Example: "Emulsion Polymerization Methods"
To truncate your search use *. Thus engineer* will search for engineer, engineers and engineering
To ensure that the search results do not contain an specific word, you need to precede it with NOT. Example: methods emulsion NOT synthesis will not include articles that have the synthesis keyword in their description.

Searching for articles

The search results are ranked by the number of times your keywords were found in the articles' metadata. The articles that contain all your keywords are ranked first. However, the results that contain the keywords in the title of the articles are displayed at the top of the rank.

The search results include:

The search box showing your search query.
The title of the article. Click here to visit the article web page on the publisher web site.
Authors' names are shown only if they have been provided by the original electronic journal TOC.
The snippet: An excerpt from the article abstract.
The article's DOI is shown if it is available.
The journal title where the article has been published. Click here if you want to visit the journal home page.
A checkbox in front of each article's title, if you have signed in.

Browsing

You can browse TOCs by publisher or by subject from the links available from our Homepage. Once you have searched or browsed, you will be able to click on a journal title to display its latest Table of Contents.

Browse by Publisher: All the 1072 publishers included in this service are listed at Browse->Publishers in a two-column table ("Publisher" and "No. of Journals"). Click on "Publisher" to alphabetical sort the publishers in ascending order; click again on "Publisher" and the list will be alphabetical sorted in descending order. Click on "No. of Journals" to rank the publishers by number of journals in ascending order; click again on "No. of Journals" and the list will be re-ranked in descending order.

Browse by Subject: The subject headings of this service are listed at Browse->Subjects in a two-column table ("Subject" and "No. of Journals"). Click on "Subject" to alphabetical sort the subjects in ascending order; click again on "Subject" and the list will be alphabetical sorted in descending order. Click on "No. of Journals" to rank the subjects by number of journals in ascending order; click again on "No. of Journals" and the list will be re-ranked in descending order.

Saving and Exporting Articles

To save an article you need to have to sign in first and have to search for something.

In the course of a search session you may wish to save some articles. To save articles tick the checkboxes found in front of each article of the search results. You need to sign in first to be able to save articles and optionally export them in EndNote file format.

From search and browse results, you can select journal TOCs to follow with a "tick" ( tick to follow ). From there you can read your favourite TOCs at your convenience, or export them as an OPML file into your favourite feed reader. Please Sign Up to ensure your journals are permanently saved.
